First of all my thanks to the Society for asking me to judge and to the exhibitors for their entries. My thanks also to my very helpful ring stewards who kept things moving smoothly. Temperaments were good throughout the entry, bites correct, and presentation was excellent in all cases.
MINOR PUPPY DOG – 1 1st : Andrews’ Neradmik Daddy Dear With Maldine Good square outline. Dark eye of good shape and well set ears which he used well. Masculine head and good expression. Good reach of neck into good front with well boned legs and good feet. Well shaped body with a good spring of rib for age. Good angulation. High set tail with double curl. Correct rear. Well presented puppy coat of good texture. Moved well. For me, I wouldn’t want him any bigger. BPD.
PUPPY DOG – 2, 1AB. 1st : Butters’ Byquy Rag’s And Rich’s 10 month male. Smaller mould but a lovely shape and outline. Dark eye, neat ears and well defined stop. Good reach of neck and good bone, and well shaped feet. Excellently presented coat with good markings. Well covered body with short loin. Well carried high set tail. Moved well with good side gait but needs to strengthen behind.
JUNIOR DOG – 4. 1st : Hickson’s Kichigai Luke Skywalker JW 17th month old handsome boy. Lovely head with neat well carried ears and a dark eye. For me, could have a little more reach of neck and very slightly upright in shoulder so sometimes has a tendency to lift his front legs a little high. That said, once settled down moves well enough. Good coat of a lovely colour with good clear markings. Well presented and in excellent condition. High set tail carried well. Well muscled hindquarters. Well handled to get the best out of him. 2nd : Reed’s Byquy Rich Gent Litter brother to Puppy Dog winner and similar remarks apply. Liked the squareness of this dog. Masculine head developing well dark eye of good shape. Well shaped and set ears. Correct length neck and well placed shoulders. He is well bodied. Moderate in hind angulation. Well set tail. In good coat. Moves well from all angles. Just needs to mature on. 3rd : Davies’ Neradmik Over The Rainbow To Kyross
LIMIT DOG – 2. 1st : Rose’s Rossvale Master Of Destiny For Esorkees Have admired this dog ringside and did not let me down going over him today. Lovely head, no mistaking he is all male. Well balanced with good stop, dark, expressive eyes and well set ears. Excellent reach of neck into good front. Well boned legs and correct feet. Square, well shaped body with good spring of rib, and strong well muscled and angulated, hindquarters. Well carried high set tail. In excellent coat and so well presented. Moved well from all angles and today was totally focused on his handler who got the very best out of him. Pleased to award him DCC and BOB. 2nd : Davies’ Rossvale Frankly My Dear Kyross Similar in shape and outline to one. Masculine head with a dark eye, but could be less round. Well boned legs and good feet. Short, cobby body but carrying a little extra weight for me. Would like a slightly better leg length to balance the overall picture. Moved well.
OPEN DOG – 3. Three lovely dogs, all slightly different in type and appeal. 1st : Tew’s Bargeway Keen To Rumble All of this exhibitor’s dogs were in hard, well muscled condition, a credit to their owner/breeder. Well balanced, masculine head of good proportions. Today he decided to use his ears which makes this dog look so much better. Good reach of neck and well laid shoulders with good bone and feet to match. Slightly longer in body but does not detract from his overall shape. Well sprung ribs. Strong well muscled hindquarters which he used to advantage on the move. RDCC. 2nd : Peck, Matthews & Ransley’s Ch Wund-R Y Workin For A Livin At Szaryk (IMP USA). Masculine boy who pleases for breed type. Lovely outline and shape. Masculine head with good expression though would prefer a slightly darker and less round eye. Good reach of neck and excellent bone and feet. Moves with great style and handled to perfection. A great showman and his handler gets the very best out of him. Just coming back into coat which was the deciding factor today. 3rd : Hopkins & Janssen’s Int Ch Helkeesen Regal Surfer Among Serenaubach JW ShCM
VETERAN DOG – 1. 1st : Brunt’s Ch Zandvoort Dream Machine 7½ year old male in excellent condition. Well balanced head with dark eye and neat well set ears. Correct reach of neck into good front and stands well on good feet. Firm topline, well set tail. Well balance shaped and outline. Excellent coat quality with good markings. Moved well from all angles.
PUPPY BITCH – 4. A lovely class of promising bitches. 1st : Reed’s Byquy Bam Bam Love this young lady, she takes your eye and love her attitude to the show ring. Beautiful shape and outline. Lovely head and expression with dark expressive eyes, and well set ears. Good reach of neck with a good front and bone for size and neat feet. At present a little narrow in front but she is only a puppy and hopefully this will broaden as she matures. Short, cobby body and well sprung ribs. High set well carried tail. Beautifully presented coat. Moves well around the ring with confidence and a cheeky look at me attitude. Will follow her progress with interest. BPB and Best Puppy in Breed. 2nd : Gregory’s Amikirs Spangelisious Very close up to first but seemingly not too happy with her surroundings today. Beautifully presented coat with well defined markings. Pretty feminine head with dark expressive eye. Well set ears. Moderate neck, with good front and shoulders. Short cobby body and strong loin with well defined hindquarters, moved well but just not giving her all today. 3rd : Austin & Johnston Chotahkees Shades Of Grey.
JUNIOR BITCH – 3, 1AB. 1st : Austin & Johnston’s Chotahkees Don’t Stop Me Now. Another very promising puppy who has a very pleasing outline. Feminine with pleasing expression with lovely dark eyes. Well set ears and good reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Lovely coat of good colour and well presented. Moved well and well handled another with a bright future. 2nd : Tew’s Bargeway Quest For Fame Rather out of coat but what she had was good quality and texture. Well balanced head with dark well shaped eyes, would prefer slightly smaller ears but well set. Lovely reach of neck and straight front with good width to chest. Well set tail. In good hard condition. Moved well.
POST GRADUATE BITCH – 2, 1AB. 1st : Tew’s Bargeway Pumpkin Pie Well made young lady. Good head but rather reluctant to use her ears today but when she does has a lovely expression. Steady mover with good angulation and excellent muscle tone. Well presented coat with good markings.
LIMIT BITCH – 2, 1AB. 1st : Tew’s Bargeway Neat And Tidy Nearly 3 years old lovely quality bitch. So feminine of lovely size and shape with good balance. Stands so well on good feet. Pleasing wedge head, gently arched neck leading to her well placed shoulders, short back and strong loin. Good depth to chest and well sprung ribs. High set tail with double curl. Well muscled excellent condition, she moved so soundly from all angles. Well presented coat of good texture, though would prefer a clearer colour. Totally focused on her handler, with that look at me attitude. Could not deny her the CC, which I found out afterwards was her 3rd. Well done.
OPEN BITCH – 5, 1AB. Lovely class of bitches, who will change places many times, I am sure. 1st : Bardsley’s Neradmik High Society At Skathki JW ShCM. Feminine but I wouldn’t want her any larger. Balanced head good stop, beautifully expressive dark eyes, neat ears but for me a little wide. Fair reach of neck and good front, with well boned legs and good feet. Compact body but today carrying a few extra pounds which detracted from her overall shape. Seemed a little unsettled on the day and not giving her owner her full attention. Moved well enough and pleased to award her the RCC. 2nd : Brown’s Ch Rossvale Hidden Destiny Very pretty bitch in excellent coat of good colour and texture, feminine pretty head with dark eye and well set ears, leading to a moderate neck, good shoulder placement and good feet. Correct topline and well-muscled rear with a well plumed tail, moved out well but just a little wide in front when coming towards me. 3rd : Brunt’s Ch Vanstrand Quantum Of Solace
