2nd : SAUNDERS’ LIEFKEES ANNABELL

It is always a pleasure to judge this lovely breed & here we were provided with a super sized ring, a keen ringside & some top quality examples of the breed.

Points which I feel need watching, started with heads. In some cases I think they are becoming too narrow in skull. Lack of foreface length & muzzle finish being too fine to complete the so desired wedge. I also felt there were quite a few which showed insufficient depth of stop definition which is essential to get that real Keeshond look with a correct eye & ears. Shoulders were generally alright, though some were quite upright & that showed in restricted fore reach. Temperaments were superb as always & practically every exhibit had been groomed to perfection.

VD (4) 1 Gate’s Valindale What Do You Think about Lacetrom, so square in outline, loved his head, amply wide skull, very good stop & foreface with such expressive eyes which all aided his cause. His ribs are well sprung, the tail well set & carried, his coat dense & harsh to the touch & his easy brisk action completed the picture; 2 Brunt’s Ch Zandvoort Dream Machine, so close up & unsurprised to see he is a titleholder. He too is almost square in length/height balance, just about enough neck, loved his eyes for size, shape & expression which is helped by his sheer zest for life giving him attitude to burn. Quite sound & light footed in action & he was in excellent coat. I gave 1 the edge in length of muzzle, but they could easily change places; 3 Faucon’s Multi Ch Dolce Vita Dyck of Bloom White, what a lovely picture this darker dog presents. Good wither height, flawless in coat presentation, really good in back skull with a well defined stop & excellent pigmentation. Shows his head off, moved out well & never stops using his ears. I would just like a less full eye, but it is dark & a good shape.
PD (3,2a) 1 BP, Eggleston’s Kichigais’s Only The Lonely with Ricara, what a promising young lad this is but oh, he does need ring training! Such a sweet head & expression, super eyes & ears, so shapely on the stack, well laid shoulders, enough width in forechest, ribs not over sprung & he is compact in loin. His jacket was spotless in presentation & he is well boned with good feet, However, he needs to be taken in hand to show off his action as he tends to amble which detracts from an otherwise most handsome youngster.
JD (3,1) 1 Sharp-Bale, Miles & Gatt’s Ch Samkees With Love to Neradmik, a class act & I loved him on the stack where uses that super neck to advantage. Oozes quality & sheer Keeshond charm. His head handles so well, all male, gorgeous eyes & ears, well rounded muzzle which is a good length & he is well pigmented. Compact, sturdy in construction & in full coat with a well set & carried tail. However, I felt he could have been more positive on the move as he was not as light & brisk footed as his construction implied he would be & he was being taken rather than moving out with panache & this told against him in the challenge; 2 Andrew’s Neradmik Daddy Bear with Maldine, well shaped & balanced head, but not quite the eyes & expression of the winner. He is a nice size, ribs to the elbow, they are not over sprung, strong in loin, good tail carriage & he is well off for bone. He has enough let down in hock & his side action is smooth striding.
PGD (10,3) 1 Robinson’s Samkees From Malta with Love, I see this handsome boy is litter brother to the JD winner. Again he is at his best in the stack. Bags of quality, style & swank about him which can’t fail to draw & please the eye. Beautiful headpiece, dark, so alive eyes & neat well carried ears. Body handles well, so well muscled & again his coat presentation was faultless. Played up a bit in front action but I forgave this because of his air of sheer class. Once settled could well be title bound; 2 Baker’s Neradmik Boy Next Door, won here on his basic good construction, well laid shoulders, ample muscled hindquarters with sufficient let down in hock & being presented in such fine physical & muscular condition. Good neck, well coated & he is the consummate showman. Pleasing head, with good muzzle finish; 3 Grahamslaw’s Shelderon Spirit Walker, I preferred the head & expression of this chap but regrettably he was so very short of coat which told against him. He is a nice wither height, good neck & backline, is well boned & very good feet. Although basically sound I feel he could be a tad brisker on the move.
LD (9,2) 1 Miles’ & Cullen’s Rossvale’s Legacy for Lekkerbek, owns a really smart headpiece, so balanced, all male with a delightful eye & expression. He has a decent neck which he uses so well to enhance his outline appeal. He is well ribbed, supple loin & well muscled upper thighs. Shown in such good coat he moved around with style & attitude; 2 Newman’s Leazehound Lightning Bolt, one of those dogs which could do so much more for himself if he had a little attitude! Lovely eyes set in a well balanced head, amply wide skull, well defined stop & very good muzzle finish. He is well ribbed, fairly short coupled with a good tailset & firm hocks. He was in good coat, OK rear action but he could be a tad firmer in front. Just wish he would use his ears a bit more enthusiastically; 3 Andrew’s Neradmik Help The Hero at Maldine, no notes taken as this exhibitor left the ring before I could take details.
OD (13,3) A really super class! 1 CC, BOB, Atkinson’s Winklestar Hadar, walked in, stacked himself with four feet placed spot on, head up, ears up, groomed to perfection & the whole picture just said ‘look no further, I’m it!’ A joy to go over, he has style, a beautiful headpiece, breed type in spades & moved around the ring like he owned it, nothing exaggerated, just, sound, positive ever so brisk strides. I was delighted to learn that this win gives him his crown. He looked a picture in the group; 2 RCC, Harris’ Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees, when filling in the RCC I was surprised to see that he is not a Ch, yet! This can surely only be a matter of time? Another out of the top drawer & a worthy representative of this world famous affix. I loved everything about him. He looks all male yet he has that air of regality & style which can’t fail to draw the eye. Beautiful head, eyes & expression, middle sized, bags of substance, well muscled & in full bloom. Such a responsive showman, lovely profile action & I had no hesitation in awarding him the runner up spot. I’m told he has 2 CCs & 10 RCCs; 3 Milovvano’s Russoe Serebro Peresvet, what handsome dark well coloured chap this is. Loved his size, beautifully headed for shape & stop definition. Great neck which he uses so well, nicely ribbed, well muscled thighs & he stand on such tight feet. Outstanding on the move where he shows briskness, balance & purpose. In a photo finish I just edged the two above him on having a slighter softer expression. But he has style & type.
GCD (0).

VB (5,1) 1 Hill’s Plymkees Limited Edition, utterly feminine in head & expression, has a look of quality from those oval shaped dark eyes, so well pigmented, nice neck, very well ribbed & fairly compact. In super bloom she still showed a light, bright step as she circled the ring in such a positive manner; 2 Newman’s Leazehound Maddy Moonlight, not quite in the fullness of jacket of the winner but she has a good head, ample width in skull loved her eyes & expression, well placed neat ears, sufficient neck & well set tail, which was a bit short of furnishing. Just edged the winner ahead in truer front action when coming towards me; 3 Gate’s Kwajongen What Katie Did at Valindale, unbelievably 13 years old & she is still a fluent striding, enthusiastic mover. Pleasing head, well ribbed, super muscletone in hindquarters just on the full side in eye size & her lack of coat held her back.
PB (6) 1 BP, Sharp-Bales’ Neradmik Kiss Kiss, so pretty, utterly feminine in head & expression with a good foreface & real wedge look. She is compact, well boned, not overdone in spring of rib, high set tail is well carried & she was in stunning coat. Just a baby, but so accomplished & once she settled she moved out so well; 2 Hickson’s Kickigai’s Lilac Wine, darker grey colouring enhanced the charm of this equally promising youngster. I loved her neck length & head carriage, eyes are really good, oval, dark & so expressive. Not quite the finish in muzzle of the winner as yet, but that could come with maturity. She moved out with a free, sound stride & was in excellent bloom; 3 Hickson’s Kichigai This Girl Is Mine, I see is litter sister to 2 & when they first came into the ring I thought she could be the winner. Shares all the attributes of her sister but she is less well schooled on the move & played up in front which held her back. But equally promising.
JB (7,3) 1 RCC, Reed’s Byquy Bam Bam, glamour personified in this really delightful youngster. She definitely has the X factor so that the moment she enters the ring, she just cannot be ignored! I loved everything about her, she has breed type, beautiful head & expression, is so well put together in construction, her cream undercoat colouring adds to her appeal & she is such a show off. She ran the mature BCC winner very, very close & I was unsurprised to learn that she has already won a CC & 2 RCCs. The future is bright for Bam Bam; 2 Clark’s Byquy Pebbles at Kwajongen, another great prospect & I see is litter sister to Bam Bam! Again that air of sheer desirable type & quality that we all hope to get but it is not too easy to achieve. Utterly feminine in head & expression, well constructed & she is outstanding on the move. Oozes charm & she too will surely go on to her crown; 3 Lush’s Gallowtree Tassel at Ednaaron, pleasing to handle, nice head, good shaped dark eyes, enough neck & such correct feet. Not quite in the coat maturity of those above her & she needs some schooling on movement to enhance her prospects.
PGB (10,2) 1 Parker’s Eastkees Gossip Girl, I felt she was the soundest mover in this class which earned her the red card. She is so well constructed, good wither definition, decent spring & depth of rib, well muscled hindquarters & a good tail. Her head is so correct in shape, lovely stop & a well filled foreface. Eye could be a little smaller but they are dark & alive in expression; 2 Bardsley’s Neradmik Ruby Slipper for Skathki, so feminine package which is a size smaller than the first but bags of substance, well boned, excellent feet & shown in full bloom. Pleasing headpiece & she shows so well. Not quite so steady when coming towards me as gossip which helped swing the scales; 3 Wilkin’s Whizzkees Ebony Slipperka, scored in ears, stop definition & ribbing. I would like a shade more length of muzzle to complete the wedge & like the second she could be a bit steadier in front action. Sadly not in the full jacket of the two above her which did not help her cause.
LB (6,1) 1 Chotahkees Don’t Stop Me Now, big enough for one of her sex but she has an air of sheer type, especially her head which I liked so much. Super eyes for size, colour & expression, nice width in skull & well placed ears. Her tail could be a little tighter but overall I felt her compactness, unexaggerated body lines, smoothness in profile action & her non stop showmanship were enough to carry the day; 2 Palmer’s Shelderon Summer Sparkle, smaller all through & not quite the muzzle length & finish of the winner. She is blessed with really good eyes & the neatest of ears. She is short coupled, quite compact & was in good coat. Can be inclined to amble if not watched & this made my decision easier; 3 Bain’s Reesburg Rainbow Spirit, such a well coated dark grey bitch but just too much of her for me. Her head is a good shape & is balanced, nice eyes, enough neck, in super coat & she is OK in side action. Could be a tad firmer in front.
OB (10,3) 1 CC, Sharp-Bale’s Ch Neradmik Miss Holly Berry, totally feminine yet not a trace of over refinement anywhere. Well boned, super ribbing, lovely arched neck carry a delightful headpiece, that of a mature First Lady of class & style. Her head & expression are a delight, she was in stunning coat & as always her presentation could not be improved. She responds to everything her handler asks of her & she moved around the ring with a brisk, even striding action; 2 De Wolff’s La Maesta A’Di Duccio, J Ch/J World Ch, another I would happily sign a CC for. Compact, well bodied, such good angles both ends, stunning head, eyes ears & expression, in lovely coat condition & such a responsive show girl. Handled to get the very best out of her & she just lost out for the top two bitch awards as I felt the others that little bit tighter in front action. But a bitch of undoubted quality which would be a worthy Ch; 3 Hickjson’s Kichigai’s Ups A Daisy, what a super showgirl this is. Tries non stop, spotless in presentation, at the lower end of the height scale, utterly feminine in outlook with the sweetest of expressions & such neat ears. She has so much to admire & her sound, smooth action earned her this placing.
GCB (2) 1 R Rainbow Spirit; 2 Saunders’ Liefkees Annabell, 8½ half years young! Slightly bigger ears, pleasing head shape, nice dark eyes, enough neck, so well ribbed with good loins & width in upper thigh & she motored around the ring like a youngster. Her condition & youthful attitude is a credit to her owner.
