It was a great honour and pleasure to be asked to judge our wonderful breed. Colour, size and movement still seems to be quite varied but on the whole there were some good quality dogs present, thank you all for your entries.

MINOR PUPPY DOG – 2, 1AB
1ST : MATTHEW’S VALINDALE YOU’VE BEEN FRAMED Correct wedge shaped head, dark eyes, deep chest, beautiful cat feet, well sprung ribs, short back, high set tail. Well presented profuse coat of lighter colour erratic on the move. Has time to grow on and colour to clear.BPD
PUPPY DOG – 4, 2AB
1ST: ALLEN’S LEAZEHOND DIDIKIE Good size dog with well defined markings, correct balance of head with flat skull and length of muzzle equal. Not so heavily coated as 2 but of correct colour and texture. Movement better in front than behind. 2ND: NEWMAN’S LEAZEHOND EDMUNDSON Litter brother to 1, another good size mature dog, well presented, good length of leg but slightly longer cast than 1, good reach of neck, stronger in front movement than behind.
JUNIOR DOG – 1
1ST: SAVAGE & BENNETT’S THORSDALE TRADE MARK Stood alone, good size with correct colour and texture. Good wedge shaped head with neat velvety ivy shaped ears set correctly at five to one, would prefer slightly longer neck. Narrow front but moved ok. Not in best jacket today which altered profile on standing
SPECIAL YEARLING DOG – 2, 1AB
1ST : BRUNT’S FOXIFAYRE FLAME DANCER AT ZANDVOORT Smaller dog than I prefer good ivy shaped ears, dark eyes very compact body with short back which caused over stepping from rear when moving. Colour could be cleaner.
NOVICE DOG – 2 1ST : ALLEN’S LEAZEHOND DIDIKIE. 2ND : NEWMAN’S LEAZEHOND EDMUNDSON
POST GRADUATE DOG – 6, 1AB
1ST : DEAN’S ALLFORUS FROSTING OVER LEKKERBEK J.W Another dog smaller than I prefer, but beautifully balanced, excellent colour with harsh coat, correct head with good ears, compact body with well set high tail with double curl better in front movement than behind. 2ND: BRUNT’S FOXIFAYRE FLAME DANCER AT ZANDVOORT.

Deep chest with well sprung ribs, thick undercoat with correct harsh textured outer coat, moved ok, but carrying slightly too much weight. 3RD : CRISP’S LIEFKEES ISLANDER. 4TH : HENSON & DEARMAN’S ZANDVOORT CELTIC MYTH AT PYREKEES. 5TH : LUSH’S BELMONDO BILLY AT EDNAARON
OPEN DOG – 3, 1AB
1ST : MATTHEWS’ EASTKEES TOPNOTCH AT VALINDALE Well presented and handled, excellent wedge shape head with well defined stop and lovely expression, good reach of neck well arched set on correct lay of shoulder, legs well boned with beautiful cat like feet. Deep brisket with well sprung ribs and correct strong loin which all contribute to a well balanced outline. Strong muscular hindquarters with slight angulation of hock. Movement ok when not rushing, tail high set with profuse coat of good colour, which completes picture. My decision for best dog was made because I preferred his head over my reserve dog. Best dog and Best in Show. 2ND : WHITE’S FOXIFAYRE THOU SWELL Good colour, compact smaller dog than 1, good wedge shaped head with well defined stop, correct shaped ears, moved ok but unfortunately did not use ears today and was unsettled in the challenge.
