The Keeshond Club held an open show where BIS was Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees; RBIS Winklestar Hadar; BPIS Kichighi Luke Skywalker; BVIS Am/Gr Ch Trumpet’s It’s Good To Be King.

My thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge our wonderful breed & the hard work they put in to make it an enjoyable day for all. Thank you also to the exhibitors for allowing me the pleasure of judging their dogs. With today’s exhibits in general I did not see excessive coats. As should always be the case my placings & top winners were judged on the day from dogs exhibited in front of me. I would also like to thank my two stewards.

MPD (1) 1 Hickson’s Kichighi Luke Skywalker, pleasing wedge shaped head with dark muzzle & eye, correct size & proportions. Well set tail with good plume at 9 months, fitted jacket, good colour & markings, moved well when settled. BDP, BPIS.
PD (3) 1 K Luke Skywalker; 2 Battram’s Vanstrand Hungry Heart, smaller dog, pleasing head, eye, fitted jacket but requires to clear in colour. Unsteady on the move; 3 Bowden-Roche & Bowden’s Bargeway Point Blank.
JD (1) 1 Jones’ Eastkees Silver Penny, I believe at his first show. Upstanding dog with fine bone, colour & markings still to come through. Unsteady on the move, requires to be worked on to improve.
YD (2) 1 Lindsay’s Mezanda Madog’s Storm, good wedge shaped head & skull. Would have liked a darker eye. Good size, four square when standing. Correct fitted jacket, good colour & markings. Moved a bit close at the front today; 3 E Silver Penny.
ND (1) 1 E Silver Penny.
PGD (5,1a) 1 Atkinson’s Winklestar Hadar, pleasing masculine head & eye, stood four square, well proportioned, fitted jacket of good colour, markings & tailset, moved brisk & clean going & coming. RBD, RBIS; 2 Edwards’ Torrikees Van Heusen, typical head qualities. I would like a darker eye. Good neck, rib, pleasing outline. Not the movement of 1; 3 Waller’s Brykin Big Chief.
LD (5,1) 1 Harris’ Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees, wedge shaped head, well proportioned with good eye. Good for size & balance, standing four square with well laid shoulders & neck, good shaped rib, strong well made rear, making clean brisk straight movement. Fitted jacket with good colour & marking. I was pleased to award him BD, BIS; 2 Andrews’ Neradmik Help The Hero at Maldine, masculine wedge shaped head with good eye. Well boned & body light in colour. I believe less coat could have improved the general picture. He moved satisfactorily when settled; 3 Newman’s Leazehond Lightning Bolt.
OD (4) 1 Atkinson’s Torrikees Who’s The Boss at Winklestar, well proportioned wedge shaped head with dark muzzle. I would have liked the eye slightly darker. Carried a good textured & coloured coat. Good balanced dog. Moved very soundly; 2 Brunt’s Sueacres Iced Diamond Od Zandvoort, lovely expression, wedge shaped head, well placed ears, good bone. Well set tail, compact body. I would prefer better colour & movement; 3 Lindsay’s Enrevyar Exceptional with Mezanda.
VD (3,2) 1 Passmore’s Am Gr Ch Trumpet’s It’s Good To Be King, pleasing head & expression. At nearly 7½ years this dog was in very good condition. Well balanced, good length of neck, well boned, carrying a coat of good definition & colour. Sound moving, enjoying his day. A pleasure to judge. BVIS.
BREEDERS D (3) 1 Hill’s Plymkees Cool Dude, masculine wedge shaped head with good eye, upstanding dog of good size, good neck, lovely fitted jacket with definition of coat colour. Good bone. Movement good when settled; 2 M Madog’s Storm; 3 V Hungry Heart.

MPB (4,1) 1 Atkinson’s Winklestar Countess, pleasing feminine head with good eye & ears, good set tail, good outline when standing. Coat of good texture & amount for age. Moved well fore & aft; 2 Tew’s Bargeway Quest For Fame, another feminine head with dark muzzle, compact bitch, dense coat of correct texture but requires to clear in colour. Unsteady on the move; 3 Burgess’ Winklestar Duchess.
PB (6,3) 1 Tew’s Bargeway Pumpkin Pie, foxy feminine head with good eye & ears. Good neck, compact bitch, in body & rib, dense coat with correct texture. Good definition of markings & clarity of colour. Moved well from all angles. BPB; 2 Clark’s Byquy Jazz for Kwajongen, the most delightful foxy feminine head with correct eye & ears. Correct texture of coat with good definition of markings. Good in body & rib, good outline when standing. Unsettled on the move today; 3 Hill’s Whizzkees Ebony Silver for Plymkees.
JB (1) 1 Wilkins’ Whizzkees Ebony Sinders, lovely feminine head with nice eye & ears, dark muzzle, upstanding of good size. Fine bone. Standing four square. Unsettled on the move both coming & going.
YB (1,1).
NB (3,1) 1 Pattison’s Eastkees Silver Sixpence, feminine head & expression, good size & shape. Would like more definition of markings to coat to finish. Moved OK when settled; 2 Wilkins’ Whizzkees Onyx Sapphire, pleasing head & eye, smaller darker bitch, nice coat texture. Would have liked her more in size. Moved OK.
PGB (4,1) Brunt’s Bargeway Nearly An Angel of Zandvoort, pleasing feminine head & eye, nice ear placement, good bone, standing four square with good coat & markings, moved well going & coming; 2 Fitches’ Venway Believe In Magic at Samoykees, feminine wedge shaped head & ears, nice coat texture & markings, longer in body, loose tailset, moved OK when settled; 3 Wadmore-Smith’s Neradmil Gucci at Szaryk.
LB (7,1) 1 Tew’s Bargeway Neat And Tidy, correct name for this bitch. Very pleasing head, expression & eye, nice size & substance, good rib & topline. Carrying a good fitted jacket but needs to clear. Movement clean & brisk. RBB: 2 Passmore’s Torrikees Victoria’s Secret, very feminine expression, good eye & ears, in good coat. Correct rib & body, good topline & outline, standing four square, moved soundly. Would have liked a tad more of her; 3 Saunders’ Liefkees Angelika.
OB (2) 1 Gregory’s Ch Amikirs Bubblelicious, typical feminine head, super expression & eye, well placed ears. Good size & colour with rich markings, so sound with lovely outline, conformation & movement. Unfortunately in the challenges the sound movement was lost. Lovely Keeshond bitch. BB, BOS; 2 Pattison’s Eastkees Daisy Mayhem, pleasing feminine head, good placed ears, coat lighter & finish not as 1. Good shape when standing & tailset. Movement satisfied when settled.
VB (9,2) 1 Bell’s Allforus Tumbling Dice, liked the feminine head & expression, well placed ears, good tailset with fitted jacket & colour. Movement clean & straight coming & going; 2 Saunders’ Ch Liefkees Albertine, pleasing wedge shaped head. Good eye, lovely fitted jacket with rich colour, good tailset. Well looked after bitch of 10 years. Movement good when settled; 3 Waller’s Brykin Bandora.
BREEDERS B (4,1) 1 Saunders’ Liefkees Annabell, feminine head giving typical expression, square profile, well set tail, coat of good texture & markings. Unsettled in movement today; 2 Newman’s Leazehond Moondust Cascade, dark in muzzle & head, coat & markings. Longer in body. Tailset could be better. Movement satisfied when settled; 3 Hill’s Plymkees Limited Edition.
