Keeshonds
I was delighted with the entry but somewhat depleted by absentees. Pleased to see that in the main the breed has moved away from the short legged type prevalent in the ring a while ago. What has happened to ears – small ivy leafed in shape – seemed to be the exception today, replaced with rather large thin ones and spoiling the finish to the head.
MPD(4,2abs) 1st Tews Bargeway Keen To Rumble, cobby and compact, well put together in a sturdy frame, head developing with dark eyes of good shape well placed, scored in front, well sprung ribs with firm topline and high set tail, steadier in action. 2nd Hicksons Kichagi Man at Arms, well grown with balance and of excellent type, liked his eye and expression, he too is well ribbed with level topline and good tail carriage, not co-operating with his handler and never really got into his stride despite numerous attempts.
PD(2,1) 1st Matthews Pommary Ruff N’ Ready at Valindale, very well grown lad and fairly advanced in his development, very typical in head just needing time to finish, arched neck, clean in shoulder, deep well sprung ribcage, firm loin, and very high set tail, good definition to hindquarters, front to settle, tidy rear action, BPD.
JD(2) 1st Pattisons Eastkees Don’t Say A Word, compact and well balanced, head well laid out with broad flat skull, prefer neater ear, eyes of good shape, moderate stop, could use neck to better advantage, straight forelimbs, decent ribcage and level topline, high tail carriage, fairly tidy all-round mover. 2nd Wadmore-Smiths Hunnivoles Woody Valentine, loved this lad for type, super head and expression, neat ears, dark eyes and good pigmentation, strong neck, reasonable front, well ribbed and bodied, level topline, high set tail, not the definition to quarters of 1 and unfortunately persisted in crabbing on the move and rather let himself down.
PGD(6,2) 1st Lush Buchkees Love In The Mist, convincing winner here, well balanced with broad skull and although ears well placed could use more to his advantage, dark eye, decent front assembly and neck, good ribcage and short coupled, firm topline and tail set high, useful hindquarters, sporting a smart jacket and moves out respectably. 2nd Lindsays Enreveyar Exceptional with Mezanda, masculine and well put together, preferred expression of 1, good neck and well ribbed up, in quality coat, sound enough but not quite the freedom in action of above. 3rd Bakers Foxifayre Born Free.
LD(8,3) 1st Brunts Sueacres Iced Diamond of Zandvort, eyecatching and excels in balance and outline, very attractive headpiece with dark eyes of good shape, some width to front and up on his toes, excellent neck and shoulder, depth to brisket but only just enough spring of rib, firm topline and good tail set, sound hindquarters with gentle turn of stifle, steady balanced mover in quality coat and shows off to advantage, RCC. 2nd Andersons Kichagi Limited Edition, impresses for type and good to go over, not quite the compactness of 1, decent head and eye, sound fore and aft, well ribbed and bodied with short couplings, steady mover. 3rd Newmans Leazehond Edmundson.
OD(4,1) 1st Miles & Cullens Am Ch Kemonts Skyline’s Game Boy, 7yo and obviously mature, shown in full bloom, masculine in head without exaggeration, ears well placed, dark eye, decent neck and front assembly, very well ribbed up with short loin, good for topline and tailset, definition to quarters, moves out true enough, CC. 2nd Wilkins Ch Pommary Quick Silver at Whizkees, very soundly constructed dog with excellent balance, not in the best of coats today, free and accurate mover, shown to advantage. 3rd Hopkins Helkeesen Regal Surfer among Serenaubach.
MPB(4,1) 1st Wilsons Gallowtree Me and My Gal, beautifully balanced and shown in quality coat, shows off her many virtues like a seasoned veteran, feminine in head with dark eyes of good shape, arched neck, good front and feet, ribs developing well, compact, excellent topline and hindquarters, moves out true and steady, BP. 2nd Pattisons Bargeway Keep A Secret at Eastkees, slightly raw as yet but presents a good outline, head lacks furnishings at present but is feminine and well balanced with super eye, excellent neck and front, ribs developing, short coupled, gentle definition to quarters, easy mover. 3rd Hicksons Kichagi’s Moonlight N’ Vodka.
PB(3,2) 1st Hopkins Torrikees Shakira among Serenaubach, ultra feminine and cobby, attractive head with neatest of ears and dark eyes, , broad front, arch to neck, very well sprung ribs, firm level topline and high set tail, good rear definition, very sound on the move but could possibly step out more, shows her heart out.
JB(3) 1st Newmans Leazehond Moondust Cascade, well balanced and advanced, head clean and well laid out, super eye for colour and shape, excellent neck, good broad front, well ribbed for age, good topline and tailset, tidy hindquarters and moves out true enough, coat of good texture coming. 2nd Lewis Leazehond Brightstar Night, I see is litter sister to 1 and similar comments apply to construction, a shade darker and more advanced in coat, just not quite so positive on the move as yet. 3rd Wadmore-Smiths Hunnivoles Pepsi Rock.
PGB(6,4) 1st Austins Chotahkees Enchantress, well grown and solidly built, feminine with good almond shaped dark eye, broad flat skull, moderate stop, arched neck and broad front, ribs well sprung, firm topline, moved out well once settled, between coats. 2nd Wadmore-Smiths Hunnivoles Pepsi Rock, size smaller and still some way to go in her development, feminine and balanced with neat ears and dark eyes, well ribbed and short coupled, strength to hindquarters, comes into her own in profile action.
LB(9,3) Interesting class.1st Pattisons Eastkees Winter Mist, ultra feminine and most finished, scored in eye and expression, broad flat skull with reasonable ears, well laid shoulder to straight front, well ribbed up and back to give short loin, excellent topline, high set tail and definition to quarters, fairly easily distracted but true enough on the move when concentrating, in super coat and very well presented and handled, CC & BOB. 2nd Austins Chotahkees Truly Gorgeous, sung this girls praises back in the summer and can still appreciate her many virtues, just felt today that she is at a rather teenage stage. 3rd Brunts Zandvoort Whats In a Dream.
OB(7,1) 1st Pattisons Eastkees Idle Chatter, felt she stood away here for her outline and free easy action, so much to admire and a real showgirl, in the challenge I felt that although she carries a touch more substance than her kennelmate the extra coat on her front end just slightly detracted from her balance, RCC, lovely to own two such bitches. 2nd Gregorys Ch Amikirs Adorabubble, touch shorter on the leg than 1 but still comes into her own in profile action, compact and well ribbed up, good for topline and tailset, does not need to carry anymore weight. 3rd Austins Ch Valindale Darling Girl for Chotahkees.
VB(2,1) 1st Lindsays Mezandas Teachers Pet, 9.1/2yo in excellent bloom, feminine and well ribbed up, touch long in the loin, clear dark eyes, good pigmentation, decent front assembly and neck, sound hindquarters, shown in quite good coat with great attitude.
GCB(2) 1st Bardsleys Ch Baleissa Catwalk Queen, very compact and feminine, well handled and shows off her virtues so well, head well laid out, excellent neck and front down to round feet, reasonable spring of rib, short coupled, tidy hindquarters and moves out true. 2nd Searles Brykin Beulieu at Heemstede, appealing feminine head with nice eyes, broad front and well sprung ribs, level topline, prefer more leg length, steady mover.
