KEESHONDS
Over all, I found the entry in good order and had no particular issues with colour or movement. However, I was extremely disappointed in the poor standard of ring training, which I also commented on when I judged last year. It is almost impossible to assess the merits of an exhibit when it takes an all-in wrestling match with handler and judge to even begin to examine it! Maybe this, possibly together with coat presentation, might be considered for a future Seminar by one of our Clubs!

Puppy D (no entries)
Junior (5 – 2 abs) 1. Miles’ & Cullen’s Neradmik Game Plan for Lekkerbek. A real broth of a boy full of life and really enjoying his day. Lovely head and expression with dark eye, good face markings, well balanced skull and neat ears. Deep, short coupled body with high set tail. In profuse puppy coat of good colour with clear markings which is a little overwhelming at present. Needs to steady on the move and settle to the job in hand. 2. Tew’s Bargeway Mr. Bojangles. Real masculine lad, different type to one, with shorter coat of good texture and clear markings. Pleasing head and alert expression with dark eye and well used ears. Good lay of shoulder, spring of brisket and short coupled. Nice bone and neat feet. Proved that he could move well on his second move. 3. Andrews’ Neradmik Help the Hero at Madine
Post Graduate D (4 – 0 abs) 1. Sharp-Bale’s Neradmik Handsome Hero. How fortunate the breed is to have such a splendid young male of correct size just coming into his prime, following in the steps of his illustrious Father. Loved his well balanced skull, good face markings, dark eye and neat ears. Nice lay of shoulder, giving good reach of neck, deep chest with short coupled body, high set tightly curled tail. Good bone, tight feet and nice turn of stifle. Beautifully presented in hard condition with profuse coat of good colour and texture just finishing a classic outline. Moved well and was delighted to award DCC which gave him his title and BOB where he continued to take third in the utility group. 2. Tew’s Bargeway Keen to Rumble. Different type to one with nicely proportioned narrower skull, dark eye, alert expression but slightly wider set ears which he was a little reluctant to use to advantage. Well laid shoulder, deep chest, short back and high set tail. Profuse shorter coat of harsh texture and darker colour. Could move well when he put his mind to it, but seemed reluctant to co-operate with his handler. 3. Baker’s Foxifare Born Free
Limit D (3 – 1 abs) 1. Atkinson’s Torrikees Who’s the Boss of Winklestar. A real honest Keeshond, well balanced head, good stop, kind expression, dark eyes and neat well used ears. Good lay of shoulder, giving nice reach of neck, short back and high set tail. Well ribbed up with good bone, short hocks and cat feet, moved well but generally seemed rather unsettled and dropped into his shoulders in show stance which spoilt his outline. Could have done with a little more coat and ruff, but quality, texture and markings of his jacket were good. 2. Lindsay’s Enreveyar Exceptional with Mezanda. Different type to one, with finer bone and slightly longer in back, not helped by slacking his tail. Pleasing head with alert expression, correct mouth and well used ears. Well made throughout, darker coat of good texture with clear markings but front movement let him down.
Open D (5 – 1 abs) 1. Pattison’s Eastkees Don’t Say a Word. Very smart young male whom I have judged before. Really on his toes and every inch a Keeshond. Well balanced head with lively expression, dark eye and neat well used ears. Good lay of shoulder, deep brisket, short coupled body with tight high set tail. Moved and showed very well. Coat of good texture, but markings could have been more clearly defined which might have been enhanced by better presentation. RDCC. 2. Hopkins’ Fr. Ch. Helkeesen Regal Surfer Among Serenaubach. Lighter boned than one and a little longer cast, but carrying a profuse coat of good texture and lighter colour, though markings were clear. Pleasing masculine head with attentive expression and neat well placed ears, but I would have liked a slightly darker eye. Well made throughout, extremely well presented and moved soundly both ends. 3. Brunt’s Zandvoort Dream Machine

Minor Puppy B (3 – 1 abs) 1. Palmer’s Shelderon Secret Symphony. Very pretty little bitch of 7 months, lovely balanced head and a cheeky expression in her dark eyes. Seemed very mature for her age and handled herself well in the ring with confidence. Nice size for age, well made body with good reach of neck, good bone, neat feet and high set tail. Good coat for age of correct texture and colour with clear markings. A little unsteady on the move. BP
2. Fitches Venway Believe in Magic at Samoykees. A real baby who was not enjoying her day out. I am sure with patience and experience she will soon gain in confidence and be at the top of the line.

Junior B (6 – 2 abs) This was indeed a difficult class to judge and I am sure the winners will change places many times in the future. 1. Pattison’s Eastkees Timeless Love. Lovely young bitch with pretty head and expression, dark eyes but would have liked a little more pigmentation around the eyes. Well laid shoulder, giving lovely reach of neck, short back and high set tail. Profuse coat of good texture and clear colour well defined markings. Moved and showed well. 2. Sharp-Bale Neradmik Miss Holly Berry. A real little sweetheart with mischief written from ear to ear, but I would just have liked a little more of her! Pretty face with clear markings, dark eyes and small ears. Finer boned than one, well-constructed throughout with short back and high set tail, good turn of stifle and well let down hocks. Profuse coat of clear colour and marking, presented in immaculate condition as always from this kennel. 3. Curry’s Neradmik Steppin’ Up the Game at Norkees
Post graduate B (5 – 2 abs) 1. Wilson’s Gallowtree Me and My Gal. What a delightful little lady definitely one of the old fashioned type. Sweet head and expression with dark eyes and neat ears. Nice shoulder placement, body a little longer coupled but outline offset by high set tail. Good bone and neat feet moved well and never stopped showing. 2. Hopkins’ Torrikees Shakira Among Serenaubach. Typical little bitch of nice size and balance carrying a profuse coat of good colour and texture. Pretty head and expression, well made short coupled body with high set tail. Moved well behind but rather wide in front, which might improve if carrying less weight. 3. Lindsay & Maycock’s Enreveyar Evonna
Limit B (3 – 0 abs) 1. McIntosh & Burdon’s Whizzkees Onyx Solitaire of Shelderon. A real little eye catcher who pushed my CC winner very hard. Lovely balanced head, twinkling dark eyes and neat ears. Good lay of shoulder, short back and high set tail. Good bone, short hocks and neat feet. Shown in profuse coat of lovely colour with good markings. Just needed a little more confidence in her showmanship to put the icing on the cake. RBCC. 2. Atkinson’s Allforus Dice with me at Winklestar. Pretty feminine little lady with nice head and expression, would have liked a slightly more almond eye, neat ears used to advantage. Nicely constructed throughout . Not carrying as much coat as one, but coat of good colour and texture. Moved well in front but a little erratic behind. 3. Bardsley & Ring’s Baleissa Indian Summer
Open B (5 – 3 abs) 1. Bardsley’s Ch. Baleissa Catwalk Queen Sh. CM. A bitch I have admired from the ringside and in whom I was not disappointed. Beautifully trained and presented – including the twitching tail! Good sized bitch with well balanced skull, pleasing facial markings, dark eye, neat ears and lovely expression. Good lay of shoulder, reach of neck and well sprung short coupled body. Nice bone, short hocks and neat feet. Presented in a lovely unexaggerated full coat of harsh texture, lovely colour and clear markings. Moved soundly fore and aft and never stopped showing for a moment. Pleased to award her BCC. 2. Pattison Eastkees Say No More. Another pretty bitch not in the fullest of coats today which made her look a little longer cast than 1. Attractive head and expression with dark eyes and well placed ears. Well made throughout, nice depth of brisket and high set tail. Good bone and feet, moved and showed well, but lacking the sparkle of one.
