It was an honour to judge at this show and thank the committee and members for making it a very enjoyable day. Movement much the same as last time I judged. However, I found that there was a lack of the typical spectacle eye markings and a number of round eyes which did not give the typical keeshond expression of the head. There was also lack of pigmentation in both mouths and eye rims, again detracting from the expression.

MPD. (4,1a) 1. Mayes’ Flatmeer Fluiter Still very much a baby. Nice size and shape, short back, good bone, coat of good contrast, pleasing head but would prefer more definition. Moved better than 2. 2. Craig’s Flatmeer Flonkerlicht Very much the same type but slightly smaller and had better eye markings. 3. Thorp’s Flatmeer Fluweel
PD (2) 1.Pattison’s Eastkees One More Chance. Lovely puppy in correct coat of nice colour. Compact body and lovely head pleasing expression and well placed ears. Moved well. BP. 2. Matthews’ Eastkees Top Notch at Valindale. Similar to one but more of him and not quite so happy to show on the day. Could change places with 1 at another time.
JD (4) 1. Snowball’s Rossvale Latin Spirit. Nice type with lovely outline, good colour short back and good plumed well set tail, nice head and expression, with well set ears. Moved OK. 2. Luckhurst’s Gavimir Grand Marnier Good sized dog, in good coat and a nice reach of neck but not as much definition of markings as 1. Lovely bone, masculine head but a little plain. Moved well when settled. 3. Dean’s Allforus Frosting over Lekkerbek. YD (1) 1. Dean’s Allforus Frosting Over Lekkerbek. Lovely compact shape, with pleasing head and expression , but I would like a little more of him for a dog. Moved well.
ND (1). 1. Wakeman’s Gavimir Grey Falcon at Sheburn. Being quite a handful today. Like litter brother a good sized dog in good coat.
GD (2) 1. Matthews & Henman’s Foxifayre So Debonaire with Valindale. Good overall shape but coat on its way out. Pleasing head with expression and well set ears. Short back with high set tight tail. Moved well. 2. Wakeman’s Gavimir Grey Falcon at Sheburn.
PGD (3 1a) 1. Potts’ Desakees Moonlight. Nice sized dog with good markings and coat. Well boned with short back and well set tail. Pleasing head and expression but would have liked smaller ears. Moved OK. 2. Lindsay’s Mezanda Star Performer. Darker marked than 1 and I preferred his head, but not interested in showing today.
LD (4) 1. Crawfords’ Venway Yachtman. Lovely compact dog of good colour and coat. Loved his head and expression with correct eye and markings. Moved well. Let himself down in the challenge. 2. Hicksons’ Kichigai Great Pretender. Larger dog in heavy coat and a bit on the heavy side. Nice shape with good reach of neck, head not as pleasing as 1 in expression. Moved OK. 3. Haworth’s Veelyn Enchanter.
OD (5,2a) 1. Lindsay’s Mezanda Class Act. Lovely well balanced dog in enough coat of good colour and texture. Lovely head with correct eye and expression. Moved well front and back. CC.& RBIS. 2. Dean’s Ch. Keyscourt Tucker’s Pride for Lekkerbek. Have always liked this dog. Again well balanced with short back and well set tail. Lost out to 1 in head and expression. Moved well. RCC. 3.Brewer’s Ch. Martellkees Eton Blazer at Helkeesen.
VD (2,1a) 1. Scroggs & Bennett’s Ch. Foxifayre Oklahoma at Ledwell. At 9 years old in good condition and eager to show. Nice compact dog in good coat. Moved well.
Sp. Vint. (4,1a) Nice to see so many older dogs. 1. Calanigo Conquistadore at Collcrist. It was evident that he was enjoying his day out and at 14 years young he could show many younger dogs how to move. He moved straight both front and back and is in good condition. 2. Veklee Denis the Menace at Esorkees. 11 years old and another in good condition and moved well.3. Gregory’s Amikirs Star Quality at Pinewalk.

PB (3) 1. Saunder’s Liefkees Albertine. 2. Marfleet’s Flatmeer Fleurig Thought she had come to play today. Nice looking bitch but difficult to go over. Nice head but didn’t like using her ears. Will be interested in seeing her when she settles down. 3. Dent’s Flatmeer Fluisteraar.
JB (2) 1. Brown’s Rossvale Gone With the Wind. Good sized bitch, well bodied, with good tailset and well boned legs which had a tendency to appear short under the hugh coat of good colour and texture, head feminine enough but would like to see better spectacles. Moved OK. 2. Swifts’ Keyscourt Blue Angel. Looked nice standing. Pretty head and expression, neat ears, good colour but as well coated as 1. Moved well. Felt on another day could beat 1.
