RICHMOND CH SHOW 2013 KEESHONDS.

Overall the entry was a little disappointing, in the main due to the upright fronts on so many, this meant they lacked the nicely arched neck one expects to see. Some biggish ears were evident too. Grooming was first class almost throughout and temperaments were lovely.

VETERAN DOG – NO ENTRIES
PUPPY DOG – 2 1ST: GILBERT’S FOXIFAYRE SWEET DREAMS At just eight months he was determined to have fun, quite a handful. Well developed and a good coloured coat coming in nicely. Darkest of eyes and good mouth. Compact in body with tightly curled tail. Saw just enough to see he moved true. 2ND: MILES & DEAN’S NERADMIK FAMILY AFFAIR WITH LEKKERBEK Not yet seven months and quite immature. Pleasing in head with correct proportions. Quite nicely made in front and has a good topline and tail. Stood and showed well but the smells on the ground proved irresistible when he was moving and he was difficult to assess. Not quite as good at the rear as one.
JUNIOR DOG – 1 1ST: MILES, CULLEN & BROWN’S ROSSVALE’S LEGACY FOR LEKKERBEK Carrying a thick quite harshly textured coat which augers well for his adult showing. Pleasing head properties but his skull will develop some more yet and hopefully balance a bit better with his ears. Well ribbed and with good strong bone and tidy feet. Excellent curl to tail which is high set. Moved well going away a bit erratic in front as he was also quite unruly. BPD
POST GRADUATE DOG – 3 1ST: ANDREWS’ NERADMIK HELP THE HERO AT MALDINE Carried himself nicely on the move keeping his head carried well up and was the best mover here. Nice expression. Stood reasonably well in front keeping his toes pointing forward. Compact in body with well carried and curled tail. In good condition and beautifully groomed. 2ND: WALLER’S BRYKIN BIG CHIEF Well up to size and all male with dark saddle and clear markings. Not the most positive in front but nicely ribbed up and has straight level topline and excellent tail. Decent on the move. Felt he would benefit from some more bodyweight.
LIMIT DOG – 2 1ST: TEW’S BARGEWAY KEEN TO RUMBLE I really fell for this medium sized male with the most compact body, the best constructed shoulders in the whole entry and a stunning square stance. Head carried on decent neck with lovely wedge, pleasing eye and ears of the correct size. Well ribbed with good length and short couplings. Correct double curled tail and in good coat and condition. Just lost out on movement to the eventual CC winner. Res CC. 2ND: MILES & CULLEN’S NERADMIK GAME PLAN FOR LEKKERBEK Good sized, all male and carrying a lot of coat at present. Expressive head with well defined stop and strongly marked. Nicely boned, could have a bit more length to ribcage on one of this size. Well carried tail and moved reasonably well.
OPEN DOG – 5, 3AB 1ST: WADMORE SMITH’S CH HUNNIVOLES WOODY VALENTINE JW Clear coloured, good sized male with expressive head, good skull and decent stop with correct tapering muzzle. Clear spectacles and good mouth. Excellent spring and depth to body and with correct tail. Carried himself well on the move though I would prefer better shoulders. Beautifully presented and shows really well for his attentive handler. CC. 2ND: BRUNT’S ZANDVOORT DREAM MACHINE Not as masculine in outlook as one but attractive nevertheless. Shoulder placement masks the line of his neck but shows really well and moves fairly well both ways. Coat of good condition but could be clearer in colour.

VETERAN BITCH – 1 1ST: WALLER’S BRYKIN BANDORA Knowing how keen this breed is to eat I was surprised to find this exhibit lacked weight as the veterans are the ones that usually carry more than enough. Rather finely built all through and a shade long cast but has good angles at the rear. Was enjoying her day out.
PUPPY BITCH – 5, 1AB 1ST: TEW’S BARGEWAY NEAT AND TIDY At 11 months this one is showing a good degree of finish and certainly must have a bright future. Very pleasing in outline with good neck and correct topline. Sweet expression, good mouth and spectacles. Angulation is good fore and aft and she moved rather well. In excellent coat condition I just hope the colour clears. RCC & BP. 2ND: CARTER’S AMIKIRS BUCKS FIZZ OF ALMRAGLIC Quite a baby but shows a nice style with good neck, sweet head which does need to fill but nicely marked. Good compact outline with correct tail and although she was a bit erratic on the move held herself rather well.
JUNIOR BITCH – 1AB
POST GRADUATE BITCH – 3, 2AB 1ST: STUBBINGS’ VANDERSEE WEDDING BELLE In very nice coat and condition. Excellent head with dark eyes and good mouth. Neat legs and feet and just enough angulation fore and aft. Nicely sprung in rib and pleasing on the move. Tended to stand over too much ground which spoilt her outline, pushed for the Res CC.
LIMIT BITCH – 5, 3AB 1ST: HENMAN & PETERSON & BELL’S FOXIFAYRE PRETTY WOMAN A tad overweight which had an adverse effect on her front action. Pleasing in head with correct spectacles but not inclined to use her ears today. Stands foursquare and has well boned legs and neat feet. In excellent coat. Moved nicely going away. 2ND: TRUELOVE’S AMIKIRS JUST DESERTS Smaller and finer all round. Feet not as neat as the winners. Loved her head and expression and she showed well when standing. Carries her tail really well. Somewhat erratic on the move and coat reacting to the hot weather.
OPEN BITCH – 5, 1AB 1ST: GATT’S NERADMIK LATE NIGHT LOVE Not a big one but pleasing for type. Expressive head, small ears which she used all the time. Good topline, well plumed and standing four square. Well balanced in outline though I would prefer a tad more arch to neck. Not a perfect mover but an easy winner in this company and I understand this was her crowning CC with BOB. 2ND: SAUNDERS’ LIEFKEES ANNABELL Slightly larger type of B with excellent coloured coat. Somewhat large in ear which spoilt her expression for me. Good topline and tail and well sprung in rib. Moved fairly well and showed easily.
