Keeshonds Judged By Laura J Newman
Puppy Dog: (3,2a)
1 Luckhurst’s Gavimir Check Mate. Stunning youngster. Good to see such a true Keeshond type in one so young. Well proportioned head with correct wedge shape. Eye colour, dark, with clear spectacles. Neat ears. Good neck and shoulders. Compact in the body with a high set tail completing a wonderful outline. Sound, well muscled rear quarters. Perfect catlike feet. Coat has excellent markings and clear colouring. Moved well when settled. Such great potential! BP and RDCC

1 Matthews handling for Blomfield, Valindale What Ever. Striking dog with super ring presence. Great representative of the breed with characteristics that show the more ‘old fashioned’ Keeshond type. Alert expression. Wedge shape head with clear eye markings. Compact body with excellent topline. Well arched neck of good length. Sound shoulder construction and good rear quarters. Deep chest and well sprung rib. Nice high tail set. Correct coat texture with good markings. Straight movement viewed from front and back. Moved briskly. I think he will get even better as he matures. DCC and BOB. 2 Wilkes’ Pommary Ashu Lodale for Dakaraikees. Earns himself a second place from a very strong class. Well deserved. I loved his fox like expression. Well proportioned head. A little lighter of eye than the dog that beat him. Super bone. Very soundly constructed in all areas. Very pleasing to go over such a solid well muscled body. Good markings. Perfect catlike feet. Good tail set but he was just letting it drop a little. Did not seem to show off his full potential today. Moved well. 3 Dean’s Allforus Frosting Over Lekkerbek JW
Open Dog: (3,1a)
1 Hickson’s Ch Kichigai Great Pretender JW ShCM. Another dog with great presence. Nice expression and correctly proportioned head. Good eye markings. Good reach of neck. Excellent front with well angulated shoulders, deep brisket and well sprung ribs. Short coupled giving him a nice compact profile. High set tail. Movement sound.
2 Lindsay’s Ch Mezanda Class Act. I really appreciated the excellent qualities of this dog such as his super fox like expression and outstanding profile. His head has an excellent shape and eyes and ears are well set. Correct dark almond shape eye. Good reach of neck. Stong in bone. Well constructed with good tail set and catlike feet. Super dark colour with clearly defined contrasts. Movement good. Just didn’t quite sparkle today.
Puppy Bitch: (4)
1 Luckhurst’s Gavimir Chantilly Lace. Very pretty baby. Oozes quality. Super head and expression. Eyes well set with excellent shape and colour. Clear markings. Good profile, with a high set tightly curled tail. Correct front and rear construction. Solid bone for one so young. Short coupled. Well sprung rib. Nice dark saddle markings. Good mover. Great potential and matches the excellent qualities of her mother who |I discovered was my BCC winner. 2 Matthews and Leadbetter’s Pommary Sophies Choice at Valindale. Good sized bitch. Lovely shape and topline. Alert expression. Good wedge shaped head. Ears a little larger than preferred. Good reach of neck. Sound shoulders and rear quarters. Slightly longer cast than the winner of this class. Excellent feet. Coat of good colour and contrasts. Moved briskly. 3 Gregory’s Amikirs Adorabubble
Junior Bitch: (1)
1 Gregory’s Amikirs Adorabubble. Nicley presented bitch working well for her handler. Maturing nicely with some excellent qualities. Correctly proportioned head. Nice dark eyes. Soundly constructed. Short coupled. I feel her legs are a little short in proportion to her body just spoiling her overall outline. Moved and showed well.
Post Graduate Bitch: (4,1a)
1 Bardsley and Ring’s Baleissa Indian Summer. Well balanced bitch. Foxlike, alert expression. Well shaped dark eyes. Not the clearest of spectacles. Nice square proportions in the body. Strong bone. Short coupled with high set tail which completes her nice shape. Perhaps lacking a little coat around the mane. Very good movement. 2 Parsley’s Torrikees Miss Dior. I really liked the head of this pretty bitch. Loved her expression. Correct head features with good spectacle markings. Good length of leg completing a nice square profile. Just lost this class on movement today. 3 Thomas’ Torrikees Roxanne of Sareveta
Limit Bitch: (6, 4a)
1 Bardsley’s Baleissa Catwalk Queen ShCM TAF. Quality bitch with so many excellent features. Pleasing expression. Very appealing head, nice wedge shape. Correct eyes set well. Ears also well placed. She has an excellent topline highlighted by a wonderful reach of neck. Shoulders well angulated. I liked her size. Good catlike feet. High set tail although could have a tighter curl. Coat correct with clear markings. Moved and showed well. RBCC. 2 Truelove’s Neradmik Baiodora Lady D’Winter. Another quality bitch with many nice qualities. She is a well balanced bitch. Alert expression. Correct wedge shaped head. Eyes a little on the rounder side. Well constructed and nicely balanced body. High tail set completing a nice profile. Moved and showed well for her handler.
Open Bitch: (8,1a)
Very strong class all worthy of placements. 1 Luckhurst’s CH Gavimir Hubble Bubble. An excellent representative of the breed standard and possesses all of the qualities that a typical Keeshond should have. Short and compact outline. Fox like expression. Excellently proportioned head with dark eyes, well placed. Small neat ears, well set. Excellent construction. Just the right balance for a bitch with femininity whilst having strong bone. Correct angulation’s of shoulders and rear quarters. Good neck. Tightly double curled tail set well. Profuse coat of excellent colour and defined markings. Very good movement. BCC. 2 Lindsay’s Ch Enreveyar Magic Star at Mezanda. Lovely alert expression. Nice topline. Excellent head. Dark almond shaped eyes. Good length neck. Sound shoulder construction. Good spring of rib. Compact body. Excellent coat colour and texture with clear markings. Showing well for her owner. One of the best movers of the day. 3 Truelove’s Desanti Chinese Whispers Over Neradmik
