Supported Shows 2009

The North of England Keeshond Club
Promoting Breed Judges & Supporting Shows in 2009

For the past few years, the Club has been actively promoting breed judges, by asking Open Show secretaries to select a judge from our C list and by offering prize money to exhibitors. Where-ever possible, schedules are given out to as many members as possible; should you not receive one, below is a list of Club sponsored shows with relevant contact details.

The Club will also list non sponsored shows that have a judge off our judging list for Keeshond classes; so if you are on our C list & judging Keeshonds at an Open Show; send us the relevant details in plenty of time and we will try to promote your appointment.

Thank you to all exhibitors who braved the cold to come to the show; all exhibits were very well presented and temperament was excellent.
JUNIOR – 2 : 1st Hickson’s Natlou’s Young Pretender under Kichigai 8 months old puppy dog lovely head, very dark almond eye, good shoulder placement and excellent bone, harsh profuse coat of lovely colour high set tail excellent shape could lose a little weight and a little erratic on the move as were a lot of the exhibits today but settled enough to take this class and best puppy and later in the day puppy group 3. 2nd Brunt’s Zandvoort What’s in a Dream a very sweet 11 month old bitch good head and lovely shape coat is not as good in colour as 1 and lighter in eye
POST GRADUATE – 3 : 1st Hickson’s Kichigai Moonlight Kisses lovely feminine bitch sweet head and dark eye, good shoulder placement and coat of lovely colour very high set tail did not move well initially but not with usual handler when settled showed well a little light in bone but never the less a quality bitch. 2nd Brunt’s Zandvoort Dream Machine this dog gave me a real headache he is a lovely shape has a super head and eye coat could be a better colour but he really let himself down on the move. 3rd Wilson’s Gallowtree Midnight Belle

Judge: Barbara Eggleston (Ricara)

21st February 2009 Sutton Coalfield & DCA – Judge: Hazel Fitzgibbon
Best of Breed: Am Ch Summerwinds So Intoxicating of Valindale (ImpUS)
Best Puppy: Natlou’s Young Pretender under Kichigai
PUPPY(2,1) 1. Hickson; Natlou’s Young Pretender under Kighigai. 9 month male with a lot of body under his profuse double coat. Good marking with correct black on back and harness marks. Undercoat needs to ‘grey out’. Excellent bone and tail set. Needs more leg for a balanced picture. BP
POST GRADUATE (2) 1. Brewer; Helkeesen Adam. Good sized male presented a very square outline. Excellent length of rib with short coupling. Good coat colour. Excellent tail set. Good brisk profile gait but not so precise up and down. 2. Firth; Ricara Night Music
OPEN (5,2) 1. Mathews; Am Ch Summerwinds So Intoxicating of Vallindale (ImpUS) Smaller male, but what he lacks in height he makes up for in type and attitude. The most square of dogs, with good clean legs and tight feet, his gassy nature nearly threw this away. Excellent head shape with specs coming. Good colour pattern. Brisk side gait and so precise and straight on the up and down. Excellent front, hard to find in so many breeds. Excellent tail set. BOB 2. Day; Allforus Dice Master fo Spitzcav JW ShCM. A taller male, longer cast than one, but in any other set of Utilities I would have been glad to see such a quality dog. Excellent head shape; spectacles not too evident. Excellent double coat with correct shades of grey/black, and clear body markings. Excellent presentation and handling. Res BOB 3. Ricara Night Music

21st March 2009 BUBA – Judge Colin Barton, (Collcrist)
Best of Breed : Allforus Dice Master for Spitzcav JW ShCM
Best Puppy : Natlou’s Young Pretender Under Kichigai.
First of all my thanks to the exhibitors for entering their dogs, all were well presented but some between coats, I was pleased with the sportsmanship shown and the good grace that people accepted their placings with.
As always it is easy to judge from the ringside, more difficult from inside the ring, I tried to balance the good points, rather than focusing on any fault, then placing in order of merit along with the dogs performance on the day.
Some dogs were reluctant to use their ears, others did not show as well as usual. The star class had to be open, with 8 super dogs present, some real depth of quality meant that dogs that would normally be in the “cards” went home empty handed, or a lower than usual placing.
Puppy – 2 (1A) BP. Hickson. Natlou’s Young Pretender Under Kichigai. Well developed and presented male of 10 months profuse coat of good colour with clear markings, good reach of neck, correct proportions, rear action a little close but should improve with maturity.
Junior – 1 Wilkes. Pommary Ashu Lodale For Dakaraikees. A larger dog, his maturity belies his 16 months, reluctant to use his ears today, well defined stop with a strong masculine head all male with good tail carriage. Good colour markings and furnishings.
Graduate 0
Post Graduate – 4 (1A) 1, Brewer. Helkeesen Adam. Compact dog with good wedge shaped head, well coated with harsh texture good colour and markings.
2, Waller. Brykin Born to love. Feminine with sweet expression, dark eye, well plumed tail with good set
3, Hickson. Kichigai Moonlight Kisses.
Open – 8 1, BOB, BIS. Days, Allforus Dice Master for Spitzcav JW ShCM Congratulations on going BIS, I have watched this boy from being a few months old, while a puppy I was pleased to give him BPIB now he has matured well, is at one with his handler, he has the attributes and presence of a champion surely his title will come soon. He is in peak condition, and should have an exciting future.
2, RBOB Matthews. Am CH Summerwinds So Intoxicating Of Valindale (imp USA) Really my surprise of the day, what a showman, the balance, the poise, everything in the right place, good on the move and standing, pushed hard for the no 1 spot, on another day could easily have won.
3, Smith. Eastkees Diamond Image. A super bitch I would like to take home, just needs a little maturity, and to settle while showing.
4, Austin. Valindale Darling Girl For Chotakees JW ShCM.
5, Dean. Allforus Frosting Over Lekkerbek JW

22nd March 2009 North Lincs DC – Judge: Janet Kay
Best of Breed : Rossvale Sacred Spirit to Esorkees
Best Puppy: Natlous Young Pretender under Kichigai

4th July 2009 Harrogate & DCS – Judge: Sue Smith (Sueacres)

18th July 2009 Tamworth & DCS – Judge: Karin Hickson (Kichigai)
Best of Breed : Eastkees Diamond Image at Sueacres
Best Puppy: Martellkees Forget Me Not by Ricara
Junior3/2 1st Egglestone’s Martellkees Forget Me Not by Ricara 7 months old, bitch the sweetest of heads with a good neck leading to solid front assembly, dark eye and neat ears. Short backed with high set tail on strong rear. Showed well for one so young, just needs to tighten up in rear movement but time is well on her side, coat and colour good, BP Puppy Group 3. 2nd Firth’s Martellkees She’s the one. This young lady litter sister to winner needs time to mature she is at the moment going through the gangly stage and needs to mature in all departments, saying that she has a beautiful head and expression and is learning the job well.
Post Graduate 3/2 1st Brewers Helkeesen Adam. Dark dog with good head and eye, front movement wide, was carrying some weight which may have affected this. Coat short of good condition and colour never stopped showing. 2nd Stone Ffyniant Sweet as Honey. This young lady pushed hard for the class. Beautifully presented with coat of correct colour and texture nice head with good dark eye moved well, just lost out on sparkle to the dog, not sure if she or her owner wanted to be elsewhere.
Open 8/6 My surprise class, a lot of the dogs in this class lost out due to lack of interest and not wanting to be there others gave the impression of being dead from the neck up, and having no sparkle.
1st Smith’s Eastkees Diamond Image at Sueacres. This young lady never stopped showing her socks off from the moment she came in the ring till after she gained BOB and group 3. Having watched this girl from ringside I was surprised how well she moved today she has the correct head with a dark eye . Neat ears with a moderate neck leading to a level top line and high set profuse tail on good legs front and aft. Moved with positive action, On standing she is a picture. 2nd Wilkes Pommary Ashu Lodale for Dakaraikees. This young dog that I have judged before has matured into an impressive dog. Pushed hard for the top spot but lost out due to tail lifting. Nice head with neat ears leading down a nice neck with short back and high set tail his movement is brisk without exaggeration, nice good size of dog . Happy to award him Reserve best of Breed. 3rd Brewers Ch/Ir Ch Neradmik Rumour has it .
