Keeshonds

It was a pleasure to judge the excellent entry & I thank everyone for their sporting attitude in applauding my placings. There were a few exhibits that were carrying so much weight it spoilt their action & inevitably at this time of year some had lost their glamour, having left their coats at home.

PD (7,1a) 1 Wells’ Allforus Hubba Bubba of Belanisiya, good size, excellent coat. Perhaps could be a shade clearer in colour. Neat ears, good head markings, excellent shoulders, spring of rib & compact body, loved his type, overall quality & accurate action, felt he really pushed hard for the top honour. RCC; 2 Henman & Peterson’s Foxifayre Doctor Zhivago, nice dog, in excellent coat of good colour. Not quite as appealing in head as 1. Good ears, well balanced overall & moved fairly well, good ribbing & correct double curled tail; 3 Brunt’s Sueacres Iced Diamond.
JD (1) 1 Wilkin’s Pommary Quick Silver, has some maturing to do. Nicely marked head & clear colour to coat. Eyes could be darker. Good bite, nicely boned forelegs, decent spring of rib. Somewhat long coupled & lightweight in rear. Correct tail, moved reasonably well.
PGD (3,1) 1 Feist & Peacey’s Neradmik Valentino, brothers here & quite similar, scored with tight feet & well up on his pasterns, good coat & condition. Found him a bit light in eye & ears could be smaller. Good mouth & spectacles, moved rather well & carried himself nicely; 2 Elliott’s Neradmik Boss at Fletilla, nicer in eye, but failed on his pasterns. Good colour, well sprung in rib with good tailset, moved well enough, I am sure they must change places on other days.
LD (3) 1 Brunt’s Zandvoort Dream Machine, well coated masculine exhibit, good markings, tail well up & double curled, pleasing head & expression, good ears, nicely boned, tight feet. Moved a bit close & I wonder if this is because he is a little bit short of body which might allow him to narrow on the move; 2 Bell’s Ffyniant Sugardaddy Allforus, nicely coloured coat, correct markings. Just beginning to show his age a little. Defined head, enough stop, excellent tailset & curl, good spring to ribbing & moved OK; 3 Miles’ Allforus Frosting over Lekkerbek.
OD (4) 1 Day’s Ch Allforus Dice Master for Spitzcav, mature male, fairly good construction throughout. His shoulders are not ideal, but this is common to the breed. Good head, excellent wedge, good bite, markings & dark eyes, well boned, good length & spring to rib, short coupled. Coat somewhat untidy, but acceptable. Moved true. CC; 2 Bennett & Savage’s Ch Thorsdale Trademark, nicely marked, well coated, ribbing well sprung. Rather short & coupled with upright shoulders which did nothing for his foot placement & front action. Much nicer in the rear & moved OK going away. Pleasing head type; 3 Peck’s Valindale Genusfour Byquy.

V (2) 1 Lindsay’s Ch Mezanda Class Act, almost his 8th birthday & in good coat & condition, shade dark in colour, but spectacles still evident. Well boned, good spring of rib & reasonable shoulders, nice tail. Moved just a bit close; 2 Truelove’s Desanti Chinese Whispers over Neradmik, pretty bitch of 9½ years, compact balanced outline, pleasing head, good ears, eyes & bite, lovely coloured coat, really good moving, particularly at this age.

PB (7,3) A nice class. 1 Passmore’s Torrikees American Affair, well grown, beautifully coated girl of almost 9 months, well proportioned head, correct wedge shaped muzzle & good ears, super spring & length to ribcage & well angled shoulders, good tail & moved really well. A future star I am sure. RCC; 2 Pattison’s Eastkees Say No More, nice bitch, good colour & correct outline, nice neck, good bone, excellent tail & moved well. Not quite shoulders of 1; 3 Hickson’s Kichigai Special Edition.
JB (2) 1 Tew’s Calivale Some Like It Hot, shape & proportions right, reasonable angles, nicely boned, firm pasterns, good spring to rib & moved well. Colour & markings could be clearer, but pleasing head; 2 Lindsay’s Enreveyar Mystic Star by Mezanda, not putting her best foot forward & spoilt herself totally on the move. Longer cast than 1, but coat colour & markings correct.
PGB (7,6) 1 Wyeth’s Liefkees Dawn Chorus, alone & dressed to cope with the heat. Pleasing balanced head, nice eyes. A shade upright in ear, but coat would normally hide this. Pleasing neck, decent ribbing & good tail. Moved OK, but tended to stand a little slack in front.
LB (5,1) 1 Gregory’s Amikirs Adorabubble, stood out here, in fantastic condition, lovely coat colour, clear markings, including over shoulders, nicely boned, good feet, excellent spring & length to rib, well carried tail, maintained all of this on the move & showed to please her owner & me too, lovely head, dark eyes & clear markings. CC & BOB; 2 Truelove’s Neradmik Baiodora Lady D’Winter, shapely girl of good colour, somewhat larger in ear than ideal, but rest of head pleasing. Good specs. Not moving as well as 1; 3 Searle’s Brykin Beulieu at Heemstede.
OB (11,4) A great class & every possible type was present. 1 Sharp-Bale’s Ch Lady Godiva’s Guilty Pleasures with Neradmik, won class due to type & general outline. Not cooperating too well with her handler which spoilt her chances in the challenge. In good coat of good colour, typical head, good neck & excellent tailset. Rather light in bone. Moved OK; 2 Tew’s Aust Ch Calivale O Do It Again for Bargeway, impressed me greatly for construction, best of shoulders, good ribbing, nicely boned & moved well, in quality jacket, but perhaps a little tawny. Head of different type to 1, can surely breed something super; 3 Austin’s Ch Valindale Darling Girl for Chotahkees.
