02 Breed Notes – Boston 2018

Boston is the first general Ch show of the year and it scheduled keesies classes (without CC’s) for the first time. Our judge was Sarah Hattrell (Khinjan) of Afghan and Schnauzer fame and she had drawn an entry of 19 dogs. We were in the main hall and second in the ring after 32 Boston Terriers; judging started around 11.00am & and with just one keesie absent it was all done by 12.30pm.

Everything in the hall was a very coordinated orange & blue. Blue flooring (which was cleaned everyday – well done Boston committee’s cleaning squad!) surrounded by orange tape, banners & rosettes. There were diamond shaped prize cards and a small Boston & DSC rosette shaped gold brooch for every BOB, RBOB & BP.

Best Dog was Matthews & Ransley’s Szaryk Dutch Bargemaster with Valindale (Ch Wund-R Y Workin For A Livin at Szaryk (Imp USA) x Keesridge Faithrustnpixiedust at Szaryk (Imp USA)) handled by David Matthews.
Reserve Best Dog went to Matthews & Peck’s Byquy Workin Boots (Ch Wund-R-Y Workin for a Livin at Szaryk (imp Can) x Byquy Willma) handled by David Matthews and then by Melanie Reed-Peck in the challenge.

Best Bitch with Best of Breed was Dawn Gregory’s Ch Amikirs Fabulicious Time JW (Eastkees Time Lord x Ch Amikirs Bubblelicious) with Geraldine Clark’s Byquy Pebbles At Kwajongen (Ch Klompens Who’s Your Daddy (imp Can) x Byquy Willma) getting Reserve Best Bitch.
Best Puppy was Sue Pattison’s Eastkees Sparkling Diamond (Eastkees Time Lord x Eastkees Daisy’s Mayhem)

Dawn and Fabby got a third place in the Good Citizen Dog Scheme Stakes under Judge Joe Smith and won £15. Sue Pattison and young Sylvie entered the Victor Wood Puppy Stakes and got a fifth place with a fiver from Judge Hector Heathcote.

There seems to have been some confusion about the claims for the Club’s Annual Trophies; with various dates been given for when they need to be with cup steward Gill Brunt and obsolete email addresses!! If you are reading this and haven’t sent them in yet (or even started them for that matter) you need to get a move on as ideally she needed them yesterday – the 10th!!

Full details of how to claim and a form can be downloaded from this website. The form can be found by clicking on the activities button, then selecting showing on the drop down menu. Please email the completed form to Gill at gillianbrunt123@gmail.com ASAP.
