04 Breed Notes – KC Open Jan 2024

Last weekend saw the Keeshond Club holding their open show, down at Roade Village Hall, where the Special Awards classes were judged first by Amanda Ellis. The winner of Special Yearling Dog or Bitch was Gill Brunt’s Zandvoort Grace’s Secret; Special Limit Dog or Bitch – Shelley Johnston’s Tykees Full Of Chaos and Special Open Dog or Bitch – Mark Redler‘s Ch Keitakees You Are My World.

The judge for the main open show was Mhaira Aikman who had drawn an entry of 34 Keesies with 8 absentees.

Best Dog, BVIS & BOS was Natasha Hickson’s Ch Kichigai’s Only The Lonley (Bert von Ricara (imp Den) x Kichigai Special Edition) with Reserve Best Dog going to the winner of open, the Matthews family & Tracy Lee’s Ch Keitakees To Love Somebody at Byquy (Ch Neradmik Family Affair with Lekkerbek x Byquy Kinky Boots at Keitakees) handled by David Matthews. Whilst Blue’s sister, Mark Redler’s Ch Keitakees You Are My World went ‘two better’ by getting Best Bitch and Best in Show.

Reserve Best Bitch was Sean and Vikki Marshall’s Torrikees Made In Heaven at Devonia (Ch Winklestar Hadar x Ch Torrikees Victoria’s Secret) from Veteran and Best Puppy in Show was Gill Brunt’s Zandvoort Grace’s Secret (Ch Divnyi Drug Dar (Imp Rus) x Almaznyi Istochnik Tropicheskaya Noch (Imp Rus))

A final reminder that the next Yorkshire Keesie walk is this Saturday (3rd February) at Temple Newsome, LS15 0AD
Meeting up in the Go Ape car park (same as before) at 11.00am with tea and cake afterwards and there’s even a decent weather forecast for the day too!! All Keesies and their families are welcome
