05 Breed Notes – Feb 2026

A reminder that entries for the NoEKC’s open show close on Friday 30th January – entries on-line only via Have A Dog Day. It’s being held at Netherton Village Hall, WF4 4LR. The show opens at 11.30am and starts at 12.00pm with the SAC – judge Linda Divers; followed by the main show – judge Allyson King.
Subject to demand a Puppy Walk will be held and the Club’s annual trophies will also be presented to the winners on the day – at some point!!
Hot food and home-made cakes will be available from the kitchen throughout the show.

The RKC has approved the following changes to the regulations for dog shows held under F Regulations with effect from 1 January 2026.
The following amendment to the regulation allows dog show societies to accept Not for Competition (NFC) entries for dogs of 12 weeks of age and over, this aligns with the regulations for activity disciplines.
Amendment to regulation F.1.c Regulation F.1.c. Application.
TO:
Only dogs of four calendar months of age and over on the first day of the show are eligible for exhibition at Royal Kennel Club licensed shows. However, societies may accept Not for Competition entries at their discretion for dogs aged 12 weeks and over.

Young Ozzie (Bargeway Dark Knight at Plymkees) is certainly on a roll at the moment. This weekend at Newton Abbot DCS, he got Best of Breed with Best Puppy and then Utility Puppy Group 1 under judge Krystyan Greenland
