07 Breed Notes – February 2024

There are still some places available on the NoEKC’s forthcoming Breed Appreciation Day, being held on Sunday 24th March at Thorpe Willoughby Village Hall. YO8 9PA. The day is open to anyone who has an interest in the breed and will start with a talk and presentation covering all elements of the breed standard in the morning, followed by the multiple-choice exam. After lunch the afternoon session will be Group Mentoring. If you require this, then please contact the Breed Education Coordinator, Melanie Reed-Peck on byquyfamily@gmail.com to arrange a place. The NoEKC’s open show is this coming Sunday 18th at Netherton village Hall, WF4 4LR. The show opens at 12.30pm with the Judging of the Special Awards Classes starting at 1.00pm; the Open show will commence after completion of the SAC, were the Judge Steve Jones, has drawn an entry of 31 dogs making an overall total of 48 entries.
There will be bacon butties, freshly made sandwiches, savouries and home-made cakes available from the kitchen and don’t forget, if you bring your own mug you’ll also get free refills.
Gill Brunt asks that you remember to return your trophies and because the NoEKC will be holding a virtual AGM in March (details to follow) the Annual Cups and Trophies will be presented at the show on Sunday.
