108 Breed Notes – WKC 2017

Our judge for the Welsh Kennel Club was breed specialist Dawn Gregory (Amikirs) who was awarding CC’s for the second time (her first appointment was at BUBA in 2010).

Keesies were second in the ring after Chow Chows; and after a bit of a delay whilst everything was moved into the outside ring, judging started just after 11.30am. Dawn had drawn an entry of 22 dogs with 8 absentees. There were no entries in Puppy Dog, Junior Dog and both Novice classes and both the Veteran and Open Bitch entries were absent

Winning his 4th CC with Best of Breed was George and Sharon Rose’s Ch Rossvale Master of Destiny for Esorkees (Ch Neradmik Handsome Hero x Rossvale Scarletts Secret)

The Reserve Dog CC was a first green card for Sue Wilkes & Steve Clarke’s Helkeesen Surfin for Dakaraikees (Summerwind’s So Intoxicating of Valindale (IMP USA) x Ch Helkeesen Eventful) who was the winner of the veteran class.

It was a crowning third CC for Karin Hickson’s Kichigai Magic Dancer JW (Kichigai Luke Skywalker x Kichigai Tiny Dancer) Her first CC (with BP) was at BUBA last year from Judge Rosemary Allen and her second CC came at Leeds this year from Melanie Harris. The Welsh is obviously a lucky show for her as she was Best Puppy here last year at her first Ch show.

The Reserve Bitch CC was also a first green card for Vikki Marshall’s Torrikees Made In Heaven at Devonia (Ch Winklestar Hadar x Ch Torrikees Victoria’s Secret) Best Puppy was Wilkes, Clarke & Peck’s Dakaraikees Silver Charm (Ch Pommary Ashu Lodale for Dakaraikees x Byquy We Will Rock You at Dakaraikees)

A couple of days after Bournemouth Sue Lindsay and her Mezanda Merry Starshower (Nor Ch Dungens Nice Guy x Mezanda Mai Starshine) went to Pembrokeshire County 2 day open show, where they continued their winning streak.

From the AVNSC classes Disney went to win the Utility group from judge Linda Hughes and then eventually went onto to overall Best in Show for both days from judge John Walton Haddon. Winning £45 in prize money, super rosettes and a cup; looks like it’s one of those ‘lucky shows’ as Disney was BPIS there last year!
