14 Breed Notes – KC Ch 2019

At the Keeshond Club’s Ch show Steve Brown (Rossvale) (who last judged us at Darlington 2015) had drawn an entry of 62 keesies with 8 absentees. Both Limit classes were the largest of the day, with 7 dogs and 9 bitches entered respectively and there was just one dog present in each of the Champion classes. A minutes silence was held in memory of Malcolm Carter and Barbara Wakeman who have both recently passed away, before the judging began at just gone 10.00am.

Winning his second CC with Best of Breed was Carol Bardsley’s Skathki Just Got Wicked (Ch Samkees With Love to Neradmik (imp Mlt) x Ch Neradmik Ruby Slipper for Skathki) from Special Yearling class. RDCC went to the winner of Limit, Gill Brunt’s Zandvoort Purrsonal Life (AI) (KJ’s Its Nothing Purrsonal x Bargeway Nearly An Angel of Zandvoort)

It was a first big green card for Vikki Marshall’s Torrikees Made In Heaven at Devonia (Ch Winklestar Hadar x Ch Torrikees Victoria’s Secret) from Limit, with the RBCC going to Sue Lindsay’s Ch Cosmic Dream’s Damn You Look Good for Mezanda (Imp Nor) (Dungens Never Ending Dream x Dungens Kosmic Love) from Junior.

Best Puppy was Sue Pattison’s Eastkees Purple Gem (Quasars Brilliant Light van het Earlskamp x Lyntova Midnight Angel for Eastkees)

There were fun classes, Junior Handling and a Puppy Walk held during the lunch break, judged by Sharon Rose. These and a ‘lucky dip’ were all successful in raising much needed funds for the club’s 2025 Anniversary show. By 3.00pm it was all over, enabling everyone to get home in time to enjoy the rest of a lovely sunny day.

The following day at Chippenham & DCS, it was Sean Marshall’s turn in the ring where he handled his and Vikki’s young Arabesque of Devonia; winning Best AVNSC puppy and Puppy group 2 under judge Paul Reynolds.

Next Thursday the 18th, the Club’s President Sheila Mac, will be celebrating her 90th birthday and I’m sure that you will all wish to join me in wishing her a very Happy Birthday.
