15 Breed Notes – KC Ch 2026
It was a last-minute change for the Keeshond Club’s Ch show at the weekend, as Geraldine Clark had to withdraw from her judging appointment due to ill health. Krystyan Greenland was the replacement judge and was awarding CC’s in the breed for the first time; (he was due to judge the September Ch show in 2027). Geraldine had drawn an excellent entry of 51 Keesies, which gave him plenty of choice to pick his winners from.
There were just 7 absentees, with no entries in either of the Baby Puppy classes, Novice Dog, Yearling Bitch and the Puppy Bitch was absent. Judging started at 10.10am and with over an hours break for lunch, was done by around 2.45pm, which gave everyone time to get home in daylight before Storm Dave arrived and it got too breezy!
The DCC with Best in Show went to Joan Miles, daughter Sarah Dean and the Cullen’s Ch Skyline’s Outlander at Lekkerbek (imp USA)(Am Ch Windrift’s Dirty Hairy x Am Ch Skyline’s Mine Eyes Have Seen) with the RDCC going to second in Open, Jane Saunders Liefkees Amore (Ch Quasars Brilliant Light van het Earlskamp Serenaubach x Liefkees Adina)
Winning her fourth CC with Reserve Best in Show and Best Opposite Sex, was Val Tew’s Ch Bargeway Crystal Clear (Torrikees Purple Rein x Ch Art Pride Bomb Explosive Beauty (imp Russ)) the RBCC went to the winner of Limit, Jane Ring’s Neradmik Tinseltown at Baleissa (Torrikees Purple Rein x Neradmik Shimmer N’ Shine (Imp Can))
Best Puppy was Lisa Axford & Steve Sherwood’s Watermyth Gota Lota Sass (Ch Divnyi Drug Dar (Imp Russ) x Watermyth Calypso) and Natasha Hickson and Ch Kichigai’s Only The Lonley were Best Veteran.
Val Tew and Caron Bell were kept busy with the Keeshond Welfare table and took an amazing £422, thanks to exhibitors’ generosity. There was a well filled raffle table and it was ‘all hands on deck’ in the kitchen; where Sharon Rose oversaw the hot food & drinks helped mainly by Mark Redler, Sue Pattison, Tracy & Chris Coleman, whilst Joan Miles & Michelle Wright were kept busy with ‘sink duties’ at lunchtime.
