17 Breed Notes – WELKS 2023

At WELKS Keesies were first in the ring with a 9.30am start; each morning before judging commenced a minute’s silence was held for Meg Purnell-Carpenter – she should have been judging Best in Show.

Our judge was Diane Spavin who was awarding CC’s in the breed for the first time and she had drawn an entry of 31dogs with 4 absentees. There were no entries in either of the Minor Puppy classes, Puppy Dog & the YB was absent, judging started just after 9.30 and it was all over by 11.15.

We were indoors with a good sized ring, a shame the spacious benching area was so far away. The car park was very challenging due to the amount of recent rain and in the red car park cars were parked with two wheels on the roadway and two wheels on the grass. Other car parking was extremely muddy and no outdoor rings were used at all.

The Dog CC with Best of Breed was Mel Harris’ Ch Kichigai Boy Is Back In Town for Watchkees (Ch Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees x Kichigai Lilac Wine) with the RDCC going to Natasha Hickson’s Ch Kichigai’s Only The Lonley (Bert von Ricara (imp Den) x Kichigai Special Edition) from Veteran.

It was a second CC for Carol Bardsley’s Skathki Emerald City (Ch Samkees With Love To Neradmik (Imp Mlt) X Ch Neradmik Ruby Slipper For Skathki) with the RBCC going to TJ’s sister Jade, Karin Hickson’s Ch Kichigai’s Uptown Girl who was also handled by Mel Harris. Best Puppy was Jean Sharp Bale’s Neradmik Pandora’s Box (Neradmik Canache at Bisukees x Ch Neradmik Grace Kelly (Imp Can))
