19 Breed Notes – May 2024

Pam Luckhurst’s (Gavimir) funeral took place on Wednesday and was quite an uplifting event. The service itself had lovely choices of music and hymns. Sally Newman, Jane Saunders and Allan Wadmore attended along with Pam’s family and friends representing all the many activities in which Pam was involved over her long and fascinating life. The eulogy was very interesting and Pam’s daughter Miriam was happy to say that she had received so many kind messages with lovely memories that the eulogy could have been very much longer! There was a very touching mention of Laura Newman’s experience of Pam’s kindness and help when she was first entering child handling classes. Needless to say, the many messages received will be a lasting memorial for Miriam to keep.

Donations can still be made in Pam’s memory to Canine Partners, a charity with which Pam and John were very involved from its inception when they lived in West Sussex and which they had continued to support over the years. Many thanks to Joan Miles for the above.

The Keeshond Club held their DOTY at the weekend at Roade Village Hall. Dog of The Year was Sharon & George Rose’s Ch Rossvale Endeavour to Esorkees and keeping it in the family, Puppy of the Year was Morse’s son Lewis Dianakees Inspector Morse at Esorkees., also owned by George and Sharon. Veteran of the Year was Miles, Cullen & Brown’s Ch Rossvale Legacy for Lekkerbek. The judge was well known ‘all-rounder’ Andrew Brace.
