21/22 Breed Notes – Bath & Sth C’ties 2022

Well I don’t know what happened to last week but it vanished in a flash before I could finish off my notes for the Bath weekend. So I’ve combined the 2 weeks for a bumper Jubilee issue!!

Our judge at Bath was all-rounder Mark Cocozza (who last judged Keesies at Birmingham National in 2017) on what would have been the Bank Holiday Monday. 24 Keesies had entered with just 4 absentees. There were no entries in either of the Minor Puppy classes, Veteran Dog or Junior Dog and Yearling Bitch. The largest classes of the day were Junior Bitch and Open Dog, each with 4 dogs.

The DCC with Best of Breed went to Natasha Hickson’s Ch Kichigai’s Only The Lonley (Bert von Ricara (imp Den) x Kichigai Special Edition) with the RDCC going to Mel Harris’s Kichigai Boy Is Back In Town for Watchkees (Ch Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees x Kichigai Lilac Wine)

The BCC went to the winner of Veteran Carol Bardsley’s Neradmik Ruby Slipper For Skathki (Neradmik Help the Hero at Maldine ex Ch Neradmik Chanel) who got a fourth place in the Utility Veteran group under judge Graham Hill. The RBCC went to the other end of the line and was a first for Mark Redler’s young Keitakees You Are My World Boy (Ch Neradmik Family Affair with Lekkerbek x Byquy Kinky Boots at Keitakees) who was also Best Puppy. Keeping it in the family, Susi Gardner and Kobi (Keitakees Small Town Boy with Manzanakees) won the Special Beginners Utility Group from Judge Hazel Fitzgibbon.

The same weekend was the second Yorkshire Keesie walk, held again at Temple Newsham. Due to humans on holiday and girls in season there were only 10 Keesies this time, Sam, Laura & Monty, Michelle with Keisha & Candy, Sylvia & John with Boon & Nova, Katie & Steven with Mika & Lula the Pom and myself with Kathryn & Blane with Olympia, Tooin, Fiver & Bella. A good time was had by all; we decided to walk around the gardens this time for a change and then ended up with tea and cakes. The forecast was a bit grim for the Sunday, but the rain held off until we’d just started to pack the picnic stuff away.

The next Yorkshire walk will be on the 19th July at Thorpe Willoughby after the Club’s open show has finished. Details can be found on FB & the website.

The following Saturday it was Southern Counties where we were 1st in the ring with a 9.30am start for Finnish judge Dr Annukka Paloheimo Segersven, who was awarding CC’s for the first time in the UK. She had drawn an entry of 37 Keesies with 8 absentees.

It was a second CC with Best of Breed for Mel Harris’s Kichigai Boy Is Back In Town for Watchkees (Ch Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees x Kichigai Lilac Wine) with the RDCC going down to the end of the line for Susi Gardner’s Keitakees Small Town Boy with Manzanakees (Ch Neradmik Family Affair with Lekkerbek x Byquy Kinky Boots at Keitakees) who was also Best Puppy. Susi & Kobi are certainly on a roll at the moment as they got a 4th place in the Utility Special Beginners Group from Judge Patsy Hollings.

BCC went to Dawn Gregory’s Amikirs Lovealicious (Ch Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees x Ch Amikirs Bubblelicious) whilst it was a 1st RBCC for Sue Lindsay’s Watermyth Cassiopeia by Mezanda (Mezanda Merry Starshower x Lilli Marlina at Watermyth).
