21 Breed Notes – SKC 2024

At SKC’s ‘double’ show ‘all-rounder’ Jeff Horswell was our judge (his 2nd appointment awarding CC’s for Keesies was at Leeds in 2022) for the May Ch show, drawing an entry of just 13 Keesies with 3 absentees, resulting in 8 dogs and just 2 bitches. Keesies were first in the ring with a 9.00am start and there were no entries in Junior, Special Beginners or Good Citizen Dog; Puppy or Post Graduate Bitch and the Junior Bitch was absent. Judging was finished by 9.50am

Winning his first big green card, with Best of Breed and Best Puppy was the Cullen’s, Joan Miles and daughter Sarah Dean’s Skyline’s Outlander at Lekkerbek (imp USA)(Am Ch Windrift’s Dirty Hairy x Am Ch Skyline’s Mine Eyes Have Seen) and the RDCC went to Joan & Sarah’s Ch Neradmik Family Affair with Lekkerbek (Ch Am Ch Kemonts Skyline’s Game Boy x Ch Lady Godiva’s Guilty Pleasures with Neradmik) from Veteran who was handled by Nicola Kerr in the challenge.

It was a 4th CC for Nicola Kerr’s Ch Caraspitz Good Luck Charm (Vanstrand Thunderball x Zandvoort Field of Dreams) from the Veteran class, with the RBCC going to Michelle, Tom & Caroline Gate’s Winklestar Alsephina via Lacetrom (Vivids Majestic Prince of Winklestar (imp USA) x Winklestar Serendipity) from Limit, handled as usual by Michelle Wright.

In the same ring following on after 30 Shar Pei; Dave Chapman was judging Keesies for the SKC’s ‘October Open’ and had drawn an entry of 11 dogs with 2 absentees – this time being 6 dogs and 3 bitches. There were no entries in either Special Beginners Dog or Puppy Bitch.

Best Dog with Best of Breed was Natasha Hickson’s Ch Only The Lonley (Kichigai’s Only The Lonley (Bert von Ricara (imp Den) x Kichigai Special Edition) and Reserve Best Dog went to the second in Open, Nicola Kerr’s Abel V Kees Uit De Polder’s (imp Nld) (Keesbrook’s Is It Friday Yet x NL Ch Keesbrook Walking On Sunshine)

Best Bitch was Michelle and Abbie, Winklestar Alsephina via Lacetrom from Open, with Reserve Best Bitch going to the winner of Post Graduate, Ann Parker’s Peeddiepies Heidi Fara (Flatmeer Flightberry x Joy Mag Force (imp Pol))

Best Puppy was Joan and Fraser, Skyline’s Outlander at Lekkerbek (imp USA)
