24 Breed Notes – June 2020

After much deliberation, the North of England Keeshond Club Committee has decided, in the best interests of all concerned, to cancel the Championship Show due to be held on Sunday 15 November 2020. The Committee does not believe that it will have at its disposal the resources required to offer Members, Exhibitors, our Judge, our Stewards and the wider public, a show environment which is Covid-19 secure, however that may be defined at the time. This situation is exacerbated by the fact that many members of our Committee, helpers and also potential exhibitors are in the vulnerable category.

Additionally, we have had to consider the complications which our Judge, Corry Saes from the Netherlands, may face in terms of travel and accommodation restrictions.

Our intentions for 2021 will now be to continue with our preparations for our February Open Show (and AGM) as planned on 13 February 2021 and our November Championship Show as planned on 14 November 2021. However, subject to KC confirmation and final agreement with the Committee of Leeds Championship Show, we will change the previously planned July Open Show to a 2nd Championship Show in partnership with Leeds on their Utility Day, 23 July 2021. The judge will be Corry Saes.

Eye testing will now be held in 2021 at both Breed Clubs’ original Ch show dates: ie Keeshond Club April 2021 and NoEKC November 2021

It’s a great shame, we know, but we are sure that everyone will understand. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2021 when, hopefully, the world will be a much more normal place.
