30 Breed Notes – Leeds 2022

Our judge at Leeds was Jeff Horswell, awarding CC’s for the second time (his first appointment was at Birmingham National in 2018) He had drawn an entry of 40 dogs with 12 absentees, most of whom were bitches. Keesies were second in the ring after 50 Havanese; so our judging started around 11.45am and was all over and done with by 1.00pm – just before the rain started.

The DCC with Best of Breed was Mel Harris’s newly crowned Ch Kichigai Boy Is Back In Town for Watchkees (Ch Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees x Kichigai Lilac Wine) with the RDCC going to the winner of Veteran, Natasha Hickson’s Ch Kichigai’s Only The Lonley (Bert von Ricara (imp Den) x Kichigai Special Edition)

It was a first big green card for the Junior winner, Matthews & Lee’s Winklestar Aurora at Valindale (Vivids Majestic Prince of Winklestar (IMP USA) x Winklestar Serendipity) handled as usual by David. It was also a first RBCC going to Rita’s half-sister Daphne, Antonia Atkinson’s Winklestar Daphnis ((Vivids Majestic Prince of Winklestar (IMP USA) x Ch Winklestar Anthe with Valindale)

Best Puppy was Sue Pattison’s new Italian import Quest Eastkees Del Monte Dragnone (Jack Sparrow Del Monte Dragnone x Oceane at Monte Dragnone of Antarctic Angel)
