31 Breed Notes – 2021 Bath

Considering the dreadful weather forecasts for the weekend, Bath had a very lucky escape – certainly for Utility day. The weather was mainly cloudy & cool, with the occasional burst of sunshine and the odd drop of rain. The society had provided plenty of outdoor space for exhibitors and most people managed to get their tents/gazebos up quite near the ring.

Keesies were second in the ring after an entry of 46 Boston Terriers; judging started just after 11.30am and ended around 2.15pm. Our judge was Karin Hickson (Kichigai) who was awarding CC’s for the second time (her first appointment was at Leeds in 2015) Karin had an entry of 30 dogs entered with 3 absentees; there were no entries in Minor Puppy, Junior or Yearling Dog; Special Beginners Dog or Bitch and Veteran Bitch.

Dog CC was Carol Bardsley’s Ch Skathki Just Got Wicked (Ch Samkees With Love to Neradmik (imp Mlt) x Ch Neradmik Ruby Slipper for Skathki) with the RDCC going to second in Open – Cheri & Trevor Rogers’ Aust Can Am Ch Keez Kause For Koncern (Keesway The Marksman at Keez x Keez Tayla Maid)

It was a crowning third CC with Best of Breed for Jean Sharp Bale’s Neradmik Berry’s Swan Song (Ch Samkees With Love to Neradmik (imp Mlt) x Ch Neradmik Miss Hollyberry) Rosie’s first CC was at the NoEKC’s 2019 Ch show from Krishna Austin and her second came at the next NoEKC’s Ch show (which was held last weekend in partnership with Leeds) from David Iley.

The RBCC went to the winner of Limit, Jane Saunders’ Liefkees Adina (Ch Wund-R Y Workin For A Livin at Szaryk (Imp USA) x Liefkees Angelika). Best Puppy was Mel Harris’ Amikirs Lover Boy for Watchkees (Ch Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees x Ch Amikirs Bubblelicious)

This was then followed by the Keeshond Club’ Ch show from 2020 and the judge was Colin Barton (Collcrist) (who last judged at Blackpool 2019) with an entry of 43 Keesies with 3 absentees. There were entries in all classes apart from Veteran Bitch and judging got under way around 2.45pm.

It was another CC, this time with Best of Breed for Carol Bardsley & Teddy (Ch Skathki Just Got Wicked) with the RDCC going to the winner of Limit, Sharon and George Rose’s Rossvale Endeavour to Esorkees (Zandvoort Purrsonal Life x Ch Rossvale hidden Destiny)

It was also another CC for Jean Sharp Bale & Rosie (Neradmik Berry’s Swan Song) with a first RCC for David Peck’s
Byquy Starmaker (Ch Winklestar Hadar x Byquy Walkin Boots) handled by David Matthews. Best Puppy was Dawn Gregory’s Amikirs Lovealicious (Ch Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees x Ch Amikirs Bubblelicious)

Colin had to halt judging briefly during Limit Dog due to an incident at the ringside; which was efficiently handled & dealt with by Jean Sharp Bale. Proceedings resumed and the last award was made around 5.30pm and by 6.00pm it was all over and done with, exhibitors had packed up & were finally on their way home.

Apologies to the Gate family as in my notes of last week I forgot to mention that the NoEKC’s Golden Oldie rosette was awarded to 11½ year old Lacetrom Cruvie – winner of Veteran Bitch. Kimi was handled as usual by Michelle Wright.

If anyone is planning on entering their dogs our next Club Ch show and is not going to enter any at Darlington, can they please let Ian Stubbings know; as apparently he needs the number of dog passes required for each exhibitor. Also don’t forget that you will need to also buy a car parking pass from Higham Press or pay an extra £1 on the day.
