32/33 Breed Notes – Paington & B’mouth 2022

Our judge at Paignton was Vanessa Wegman-Williams who was awarding CC’s in the breed for the first time. She had drawn an entry of 32 dogs with 4 absentees. There were no entries in either of the Special Beginners classes and the Limit Bitch entry was absent. Being first in the ring with a 9.30am start, judging was finished well before lunch time.

The DCC with Best of Breed went to the winner of Veteran, Natasha Hickson’s Ch Kichigai’s Only The Lonley (Bert von Ricara (imp Den) x Kichigai Special Edition) with the RDCC going to the Open winner, Sue Lindsay’s Mezanda Merry Starshower (AI) (Dungens Nice Guy x Mezanda Mai Starshine)

Winning her crowning third CC was Karin Hickson’s Kichigai’s Uptown Girl JW (Ch Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees x Kichigai Lilac Wine) Jade won her first CC at SKC this year from Caron Bell and her second came at Blackpool from Jill Peake.

The RBCC went down the line to the winner of Junior, Jane Ring’s Neradmik Tantrums ‘N’ Tiaras (Ch Samkees With Love to Neradmik (imp Mlt) x Ch Neradmik Grace Kelly (Imp Can)) Jane also got Best Puppy with Neradmik Shine on Harvey Moon (IMP CAN) (Ikon’s Shine In The Spotlight x Neradmik Norma Jean)

The following week was the turn of Bournemouth, where Keesies don’t have CC’s. The judge was David Roberts whose entry of 20 was decimated by 13 absentees – with only 3 dogs and 4 bitches present. Both PD &PB were absent, as was JD and there were no entries for JD & SBD/B. I suspect the weather was a deciding factor for many to stop at home, although apparently it wasn’t as hot as expected. It’s not the actual temperature whilst at the venue that’s usually the problem, but the travelling involved. All you need is to be stuck in traffic and the temperature can soon soar.

Vikki also got Best Bitch with Ghost’s daughter Devonia Black Pearl (Arabesque at Devonia Imp Rus x Torrikees Made In Heaven at Devonia) Reserve Best Bitch went to the Watkins’ Silmoralbions Nora Batty (Eerondaali Orlando (Imp Fin) x Samoykees Faya By Moonlight) There were no puppies present.
