32 Breed Notes – Leeds 2026

On Sunday it was the Central Scotland Keesie walk; with the weather being almost perfect conditions for the dogs, being much cooler with a small shower halfway through. The walk started just before 11.00am looping around Beecraigs Country Park. By the time they got back to the visitor centre’s café around 12.30pm the sun had made an appearance, just in time for coffee & cake!

14 dogs turned up (almost a Ch show entry!) Ava, Talyn, Jura, Ruby, Star, Willow, Corrie, Cora, Joey, Chilli, Pepper, Heidi and 5 month Bonnie & 7 month Rosie enjoying their first Keesie walk – with everyone (mostly) on their best behaviour. They even met a couple from Ayrshire out with their Rough Collie & Sheltie who were interested in getting a Keesie in the future.

Also on Sunday it was Leeds Ch show, where our judge was Bert Easdon, who was awarding CC’s for the second time (his first appointment was at Blackpool in 2023) and he had drawn an entry of 25 dogs with 4 absentees. Keesies were first in the ring with a 9.00am start, and with no entries in Special Beginners or Post Graduate Bitch it was over by 10.20am. With no benching, it was the usual free for all behind the ring in the narrow marquee, trolleys and cages jammed up everywhere making it really difficult to get out.

Both recipients of the DCC & RDCC were a repeat of his first appointment – awarding another CC to the Veteran winner, Natasha Hickson’s Ch Kichigai’s Only The Lonley VW ShCex (Bert von Ricara (imp Den) x Kichigai Special Edition) this time with Best of Breed and a second RDCC going to the second in Veteran, Sharon & George Rose’s Ch Rossvale Endeavour to Esorkees (Zandvoort Purrsonal Life x Ch Rossvale Hidden Destiny) who was handled by a young girl whose name I didn’t get.

The BCC was a fourth for Gill Brunt’s Ch Zandvoort Moonlight (Ch Divnyi Drug Dar (Imp Rus) x Almaznyi Istochnik Vologodskie Kruzheva) and it was a first RBCC with Best Puppy for a delighted Lisa Axford & Steve Sherwood’s Watermyth Gota Lota Sass (Ch Divnyi Drug Dar (Imp Russ) x Watermyth Calypso) who also got shortlisted in the Puppy Group under judge Mr David Shields.

Last week at York CA, Gill Brunt and Eva (Zandvoort Wind in her Hair) got Best AVNSCP and her dad Darik (Ch Divnyi Drug Dar) ended up BVIS winning £30, which Gill remembered to collect this time!
