At Welsh Kennel Club, Krishna Austin (Chotahkees) (who last judged at the NoEKC Ch show in 2018) had drawn an entry of 27 dogs with 5 absentees. We were second in the ring after 22 Kleins and it was nearly 1.30pm before Keesie judging started. With no entries in Junior Dog and both Novice classes it was all finished by around 3.00pm.

Following next was the Bank Holiday weekend and there were no CC’s on offer for Keesies at Driffield where judge Glenn Davies had drawn an entry of just 11 dogs with 1 absentee. We were second in the ring after 32 Boston Terriers, judging started at 11.00am and was over half an hour later. Despite a good classification scheduled of seven classes for each sex, only 4 bitches were entered and they were all in Open (with the absentee) and the boys were in Veteran (1), Puppy (2) and Open (4)

Some sad news that Rick Clasby (Franrik) died on the 22nd August, after suffering from poor health for a few years. He had been an active committee member of the Keeshond Club for several years, holding positions as Show Manager and Vice-Chairman. Rick’s funeral is being held at 1.00pm on the 15th September at Porchester Crematorium, PO16 8NE. If you intend attending could you please let Geraldine (secretary@keeshondclub.org.uk) know so the family have an idea of numbers to cater for.
