38 Breed Notes – Darlington 2022

At Darlington our judge was ‘Spitz all-rounder’ Hazel Fitzgibbon awarding CC’s for the second time (her first appointment was at LKA in 2016) who had drawn an entry of 29 Keesies with 6 absentees. We were first in the ring which meant it was another crack of dawn Friday morning start to be ready for judging at 9.00am, which started after a minute’s silence for Her Majesty. The Veteran Dog was absent and there were no entries in Post Graduate Dog, Puppy and Junior Bitch and so judging was over just after 10.00am.

The DCC with Best of Breed went to winner of Open, Natasha Hickson’s Ch Kichigai’s Only The Lonley (Bert von Ricara (imp Den) x Kichigai Special Edition) who was also BV. Winning his first RDCC was Gill Brunt’s Zandvoort Mr Bond (Ch Zandvoort Dream Machine x Ch Vanstrand Quantum of Solace)

The BCC went to Vinnie’s sister, Wendy McKean’s Ch Kichigai This Girl Is Mine at Yawren (Bert Von Ricara (imp Den) x Kichigai Special Edition) from the Veteran Bitch class and it was another first RBCC for Gill’s Almaznyi Istochnik Vologodskie Kruzheva (Imp Rus) (Eswood Charming Avec x Monsone Tsiona) from Limit. Best Puppy was George & Sharon Rose’s Dianakeees Inspector Morse (Rossvale Endeavour with Esorkees x Ednaaron Moon Dance)

The whole showground was blessed with short grass, (even the car parks) which meant that even though there had been heavy dew early on, it was all dry meaning there were no wet or muddy feet and paws. It was blue skies and sunshine right from the off, but a biting northerly wind ensured that few ‘loitered around’ after judging and I guess that most were back home well in time for lunch.
