38 Breed Notes – Darlington & Driffield 2019

Apologies for another double set of notes – last week just seemed to disappear!! At Ripon Racecourse our judge at Darlington Ch show was Norwegian judge Espen Engh (who last judged us at Birmingham National in 2015) Although Keesies were scheduled to be first in the the ring with a 9.00am start, judging was delayed to almost 11.30am due to Espen having missed his flight the night before and only arriving in the UK Friday morning. He had drawn an entry of 42 dogs with 6 absentees, with entries in all classes apart from Minor Puppy Bitch.

It was a first big green card with Best of Breed for the winner of Limit, Antonia Atkinson’s Winklestar Skoll (Ch Winklestar Hadar x Eastkees Made To Order by Winklestar). The RDCC went to Melanie Harris’ Ch Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees JW ShCM (Ch Am Ch Kemonts Skylines Game Boy (imp USA) x Ch Lady Godiva’s Guilty Pleasures with Neradmik (imp Fin))

It was a lucky day for the limit winners as also winning her first big green card was Nicola Kerr’s Caraspitz Good Luck Charm (Vanstrand Thunderball x Zandvoort Field of Dreams). Although it was a fourth RBCC for Natasha Hickson’s Kichigai Uptown Girl (Ch Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees x Kichigai Lilac Wine) Jade was beaten for Best Puppy by her brother – Mel Harris’ Kichigai Boy Is Back In Town for Watchkees.

Mel and young TJ then went on to win a first place in the Eukanuba Pup Of The Year Competition under Irish Judge Jackie Stubbs winning a £20 product voucher. Charlotte Craig and Flatmeer Florisel got a fourth place in the Northern Event Structures Yearling Stakes from Judge Val Foss winning £5 cash.

The following weekend it was Wetherby Racecourse’s turn to hold a Ch show; this time it was Driffield without CC’s for Keesies. Our judge was Sue Bird, who had drawn an entry of 14 dogs with 2 absentees and there were only 2 bitches present.

Best Dog with Best of Breed was Natasha Hickson’s Ch Kichigai’s Only The Lonley (Bert von Ricara (imp Den) x Kichigai Special Edition) with Melanie Harris’ Ch Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees JW ShCM (Ch Am Ch Kemonts Skylines Game Boy (imp USA) x Ch Lady Godiva’s Guilty Pleasures with Neradmik (imp Fin)) getting Reserve Best Dog.

Best Bitch was Natasha’s Kichigai Uptown Girl (Ch Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees x Kichigai Lilac Wine) with Jade being beaten yet again for Best Puppy by her brother – Mel Harris’ Kichigai Boy Is Back In Town for Watchkees. Mel and TJ then went on to win the Utility Puppy Group under judge Robin Searle. Reserve Best Bitch was Antonia Atkinson’s Winklestar Serendipity (Winklestar Draco x Winklestar Mimosa)
