41 Breed Notes – SWKA 2022

At South Wales Kennel Association our judge was Robin Newhouse (who last judged us at Crufts in 2020) and he had drawn an entry of 37 dogs with 5 absentees. There were no entries in either of the Good Citizen Dog Scheme classes and the Junior bitch was absent. We were second in the ring after 37 Shiba’s; but with Utility day being on a Thursday it still meant either an early start or an overnight stay.

From the Junior class and winning his second CC was David Peck’s Keitakees To Love Somebody at Byquy (Ch Neradmik Family Affair with Lekkerbek x Byquy Kinky Boots at Keitakees) handled as usual by David Matthews. The RDCC went to Mel Harris’ Ch Kichigai Boy Is Back In Town for Watchkees (Ch Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees x Kichigai Lilac Wine)

It was a crowning third CC with Best of Breed for Val Tew’s Art Pride Bomb Explosive Beauty (Imp Rus) ((Cinerus Arctic Prince of Star x Rus Ch Divnyi Drug Gutedal Weiser) Pride’s first CC was at Crufts this year from Stuart Mallard and her second came last month at Birmingham City under Keith Baldwin. RBCC and Best Veteran was Sue & Alan Hill’s Whizzkees Ebony Silver For Plymkees JW ShCM (Luddelos Figaro With Valindale (Imp Swe) x Ch Whizzkees Silver Slipper AWS)

Best Puppy was Jane Saunders’ Liefkees Aleida (Int Ch Quasars Brilliant Light Van Het Earlskamp Serenaubach (Imp Bel) x Liefkees Adina)

A reminder that Andy Fitches is waiting for your contributions for the Autumn issue of the Club’s Walkee Talkees; as at the moment the magazine is still full of empty pages! Please send them to him ASAP.
