47 Breed Notes – Nordic 2019

The Nordic Show is organised annually by The Finnish Spitz Club and schedules classes for the 23 Spitz breeds recognised by the KC; plus the 2 breeds on the import register. It’s the only opportunity here in the UK to see the Spitz breeds being shown and judged together; as they are scattered across all the groups (except gundogs and terriers) unlike the FCI where they are altogether and form a very large Group 5.

Keeshonds were first in the ring for Judge Sue Dykes (Kashi) who awards CC’s in Akitas, Chinese Cresteds & Tibetan Terriers amongst others. She had drawn an entry of 6 keesies and her Best of Breed came from Open, Natasha Hickson’s Ch Kichigai Only The Lonley. Best Puppy was Jean & Andy Fitches’ Samoykees Harbour Lights and Barbie, Venway Believe in Magic at Samoykees was Best Veteran.

At BUBA next weekend, Keesies are first in the ring with a 9.30am start for breed judge Sheila Brown, who has drawn an entry of 43 dogs. After judging there will be a ‘bench party’ so all contributions – both sweet & savoury will be appreciated.
