49 Breed Notes – BUBA 2019

At BUBA, Keesies were 1st in the ring with a 9.30am start for judge Sheila Brown (Rossvale) (who last judged us at Border Union in 2015) and she had drawn an entry of 42 keesies with 11 absentees. The biggest class of the day was Open Bitch with 7 of the 9 entered girls present and it was just gone 11.30am when judging was finished; which meant that we could all get home in good time.

The DCC went to Joan Miles and her daughter Sarah’s Ch Neradmik Kiss Chase with Lekkerbek (Ch Neradmik Family Affair with Lekkerbek x Ch Neradmik Miss Holly Berry) whilst the RDCC went to the PGD winner, Carol Bardsley & Sue Baker’s Skathki King Of The Forest (Ch Samkees With Love to Neradmik (imp Mlt) x Ch Neradmik Ruby Slipper for Skathki)

BCC with BOB went to Audrey White’s Ch Neradmik Vanilla Ice Morvania (Ch Samkees With Love to Neradmik (imp Malt) x Ch Neradmik Miss Hollyberry) It was a 7th RBCC for Natasha Hickson’s Kichigai Uptown Girl (Ch Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees x Kichigai Lilac Wine) who was handled as usual by Karin.

Best Puppy was Gill Brunt’s latest import, Divnyi Drug Dar (Imp Rus) (Cinerus Arctic Prince Of Star x Divnyi Drug Gusja Lebed) who then went on to Reserve Best Puppy in show under Ian Millar. Audrey had to make her apologies she unfortunately couldn’t stay for the group; she’d been chauffeured by her son, who had to get back home.

The show felt somewhat disjointed as whilst our ring was in the far corner of the main hall, the benches were over the other side of the hall. They were miles away; you couldn’t even see the ring standing on a bench. Some of the exhibitors ‘decamped’ to a small space next to the ring, where the bench picnic was set up making it somewhat compact and bijou; and the rest of the exhibitors stayed on the benches with their dogs. A bit of thought and planning re the proximity of benching to rings could have made life much easier for all exhibitors.
