51 Breed Notes – LKA 2024

At the last Ch show of the year, Keesies were again first in the ring, this time with a 9.00am start for judge Carole Jackson (Carnor) (who last judged at Midland Counties 2017) Carole had drawn an entry of 26 dogs with 6 absentees; there were no entries in either Post Graduate Dog, Veteran Bitch and both Special Beginners and Good Citizen classes – judging was done by 10.30am

Winning his crowning 3rd CC with Best of Breed from the Junior class was Joan Miles, daughter Sarah Dean and the Cullen’s Skyline’s Outlander at Lekkerbek (imp USA)(Am Ch Windrift’s Dirty Hairy x Am Ch Skyline’s Mine Eyes Have Seen) Fraser won his 1st CC at the beginning of the year at SKC from Jeff Horswell and his second came in the summer at Blackpool from Hans van den Berg. Staying down the line, the RDCC with Best Puppy went to a delighted Tyra Church with her young Voila Mon Vadim D’amour for Tykees (imp Fra) (Golfstrim Iz Mirashela x Fr Ch Pepyte D’amour La Dolce Vita)

Also winning her crowning third CC was Cheri & Trevor Rogers’ Can Am Ch Cedarhills-Shamrock Foreign Exchange at Keez (Imp Can) (Ikon’s Cha Ching x Cedarhills Shamrock Sabrina). It’s been a long wait as Frankie won her 1st CC at the Keeshond Club’s Ch show in 2021 under Rodney Oldham, with her second quickly following on at LKA (also in 2021) from David Robbins. The RBCC went to second in Open, Jean Sharp Bale’s Ch Neradmik Pandora’s Box (Neradmik Canache at Bisukees x Ch Neradmik Grace Kelly (Imp Can)) handled by Jane Ring.

It’s coming to that time of year when reminders about ‘Club stuff’ is in the process of being sent out by both secretaries to all members.

Membership subs for the North of England are due by the 1st January 2025. If you need details of the Club’s bank account etc to transfer your subs, please contact me.
The Club’s AGM will be taking place prior to our Open Show which is being held at Netherton Village Hall, WF4 4LR on Sunday 16th February 2025. Schedules will be available shortly, with on-line entries only via www.haveadogday.com
Annual Cups and Trophies will be awarded for wins recorded at those shows which have taken place in 2024. Keeshond Club membership renewals and fees must be submitted by 15 January 2025 to ensure eligibility for voting at their AGM on 16 March 2025. Annual Trophy claims should be sent to Gill Brunt by 12 January. – details as above.
