This is the Mark II edition of this critique, the original being lost in the ether between my phone and OD. Forgive me for it being shorter this time around. I kept in mind Category 2, too heavily coated, of the 27 exhibits, 6 were absent, only 1 was a male.
MPD (1) 1. Axford/Sherwood’s Watermyth Jewel of The Nest. 8 months, quality baby, wedge shaped head, oblique, almond eye, ‘five to one’ ear set, arch to neck, short and square, prefer a bit more daylight underneath that his maturing, growing process can address, enviable double curl, cat feet, moved brisk and true, very promising.
PD(2) 1. Matthews/Lee’s Winklestar Deneb at Valindale. 10 months of classic breed type and destined for the top, 50:50 muzzle to skull with definite stop, spectacles, shoulder marking, saddle, ‘five to one’ small ears, harsh stand off coat, squarely built, neck to aid head carriage, double curl, smart brisk mover on good bone and feet, tough and rare to have to complete against his equal in the Res CC bitch puppy, RDCC. 2. Bryan/Beck’s Neradmik Bims’ Boy. 11 months, very well bodied already with spring of rib and depth, good in eye, stop and muzzle, appeared wider in ear set, relatively heavy coated, as sound in structure as on the move, both he and his novice owner were learning the ropes and am sure will make a great team.
JD (2) 1. Lindsay’s Mezanda Mystic Starman. 16 months of excellent breed type, scored in head features, flat skull, oblique almond eye, spectacles, small ivy-leaf ear that appear set or carried a tad wide, definite stop seen from the side, neck with ruff, shoulder marking and saddle, compact with daylight beneath, good rib, excellent rear, tight tail, looks like he will be holding his own against his peers, one to watch, BJ. 2. Downs’ Liefkees Assisi. 15 months, excellent ear set plus small and well carried, eye a tad small and less oblique, definite stop, scored in neck and angles, correct stand off coat with undercoat and markings, tight high set tail, precise mover who just came on a little wide in front and not quite as compact but maturity should address beyond this teenage phase.
LD (3) 1. Marshall’s Arabesque at Devonia (imp RUS). 4½ years of a very good type, textbook, small ivy-leaf ears, dark, oblique almond eye, spectacles plus body markings on a harsh coat, short and compact with well rounded rib, just a little slack coming on and at pastern, firm rear with high set tail. 2. Tew’s Torrikees Purple Rein. 2½ years, definite stop, tape through muzzle, oblique almond eye, ears rather large, well angulated, correctly coated and marked, excellent tail set, not quite as compact and needed to be shown so as to better bring out a brisk action. 3. Church’s Shelderon Stemmig Sage with Tykees.
OD (4) Lucky me to have such quality. 1. Fitches’ Nl Ch. Samoykees Harbour Lights. 4 years, textbook eye and ear, spectacles enhanced by lighter colouring beneath, stands on good bone and feet, fabulous body, coat and clarity of markings, beautifully compact with well rounded rib, desired neck with ruff and backline, double curl, tended to stand a little slack at pastern but moved typically brisk. 2. Peck/Matthews’ Ch. Keitakees to Love Somebody at Byquy. 22 months, very forward and of obvious quality, scored in his head features and their positioning, as divided by a definite stop, very short in back, neck has arch with ruff, enviable double coat plus textbook body markings, excellent tail set with tight curl, came on a tad wide, nicely parallel in rear. 3. Harris’ Ch. Kichigai Boy Is Back In Town for Watchkees.
SpBD (1) 1. Church’s Shelderon Stemmig Sage with Tykees. 3rd in LD. Not as ideally compact and slack at pastern, scored in eye, ear and stop, excellent coat and body markings, brisk mover on excellent feet.
V 3(1) 1. Hickson’s Ch. Kichigai’s Only The Lonley. All but 8 years, my judging book reads ‘all I want’ so that should be sufficient! Flat skull, ivy-leaf ear, oblique well spaced eye, defined spectacles and defined body markings as excels in pigmentation, dark mask, arch to neck, ruff, superbly textured coat, short and compact, single curl and high set, ground clearance so brisk, springy and precise, DCC, BV, BOB & VG2. 2. Marshall’s Torrikees Made In Heaven at Devonia. 7 years bitch, lower on the leg and longer in the body so as to appear less squarely compact, scored in eye and ear (ivy-leaf), scored in pigment and distinct markings on both head and body, stand off coat of good texture, good bone, well ribbed, well placed and curled tail, typically brisk on the move.
SpBB (2,1) 1. Church’s Tykees We Go Solo. Barely turned 18 months, such good breed type, ticking so many ‘specific’ boxes, good proportions in both head and body, excellent eye and ear, spectacles, body markings, curl to tail, jacket, brisk on the move, well shown, should be well capable of holding her own as she matures on, BSpB.
PB (1) 1. Sharp-Bale’s Neradmik Pandora’s Box. 10½ months, oh my goodness, so classic, so destined to be titled, frankly could not fault her, such breathtaking brisk, light and parallel action, she has all the breed points I have been listing through head, body coat, markings and shape to her curl, such a great breed representative marked by RBCC & BP.
JB (1) 1. Fitches’ Sofia Loren Della Ginevrina (imp ITA). Just hours beyond 12 months, promising youngster, dark muzzle, oblique eye, spectacles, correct body markings on a good coat, nicely boned, moved out so parallel and so briskly, touch long and low in body proportions but the growing process will surely address, plenty of winning ahead for her.
GB (3,1) 1. Johnston’s Tykees Full of Chaos. 21 months of excellent breed type, good head proportions, lovely eye and spectacles well defined, good arch to neck, stood a little ‘east/west’ at pastern but she moved out brisk and sound, giving an excellent outline as she circuited with clearance beneath, correct in stand off coat and body markings, can still just shorten a little but plenty of time for that, she will be readily moving up the ranks. 2. Church’s Tykees We Go Solo. 1st in SpBB.
LB 2(1) 1. Lindsay’s Watermyth Cassiopeia by Mezanda. Rising 2½ years, she ticked so many boxes, being short and compact with length of leg giving a square outline, flat skull, oblique eye, definite stop, neck with arch and ruff, spectacles and shoulder markings, firm at front and pastern, correct degree of width, tight curl, sound and brisk, top flight.
OB (4,1) 1. Matthews/Lee’s Ch. Winklestar Aurora at Valindale JW. 2½ years of classic breed type, small ivy-leaf ears at ‘five to one’, oblique, almond eye, dark muzzle, definite stop, arch to neck, ruff, body has some width through and depth, textbook coat and body markings, prefer a touch more clearance, so remarkably sound and gaits so well, being so well angulated, on good bone and feet with tight curl, on top of her form and shown to advantage, BCC. 2. Tew’s Art Pride Bomb Explosive Beauty (imp RUS). 2½ years, in my judging book I have triple underlined ‘clearance’ and can well understand her being imported, good pigment and desired markings, flat skull, oblique eyes, ivy-leaf ears, excellent coat and curl, a little longer in back and was limited in her gaiting due to handling, such an asset to any kennel as potential dam, let alone at this level in the show ring. 3. Hickson’s Ch. Kichigai’s Uptown Girl JW.
