Many thanks to the Officers and Committee for the invitation following the regretful but understandable withdrawal of Judge Geraldine Clark. The ground was not at its optimum and thank you to the exhibitors who tried their hardest to find the flattest and least wet area to show their dogs, some of which faired better than others. I found there was considerable variation of type with structure; particularly fronts and ribs plus coats in comparison to the breed standard. Movement was rather disappointing, and those who stood the best did not always have the required essential qualities; hence my decisions with points towards the necessary criteria. Temperament was faultless throughout and some real characters were present!
VD (2) Both boys so easy to go over. 1 Hickson & Hickson’s Ch Kichigai’s Only The Lonely. Nice fox like head and expression, with well arched neck, alert boy with correct markings and stood with charm in overall profile. Level topline and neat feet. High set tail carried well. Coat starting to change. Definitely put on a show to notice him with his brisk movement. 2 Cullen & Cullen’s Ch Rossvale’s Legacy For Lekkerbek. Does not look his age. Good size and in proportion throughout with strong but not exaggerated neck. Both ear size and shape pleasing with a lovely dark eye. Good depth of brisket. Tail highly set. Stood well.
JD (1) 1 Atkinson’s Winklestar Regulus. Lovely head, dark almond eyes and handsome expression to compliment. Good front legs, short loin and high set, tight tail. Correctly textured coat with defined markings. Moved well. Look forward to seeing his future. Moved well. RCC.
PGD (2) 1 Rose’s Dianakees Inspector Morse At Esorkees. Nice head and ears. Good depth of chest, well sprung ribs with short back. Good markings, Profuse trousers. 2 Kerr’s Storm V Uit De Polder’s (Imp Nld). Much darker boy than 1 and ribs not as well sprung. Moved with a brisk action; front movement much better than rear. Would have preferred a slightly longer muzzle. Good tail and lovely temperament.
LD (4,1) A rather mixed bag. 1 Atkinson’s Vivids Majestic Prince Of Winklestar. Nice head and eye. Good straight front legs and sufficient chest space. Short and compact. Good movement fore and aft which won him this class. Desirable feet. Would have preferred a clearer coat. 2 Ring’s Neradmik Shine On Harvey Moon. Good coat and excellent markings. Stood very well and compact. Well sprung rib. Straight rear movement but was slightly wide at front. 3 Burnett’s Torrikees We Will Rock You.
OD (6,3) 1 Rose’s Rossvale Endeavour To Esorkees. Correct silhouette when viewing. Good depth of brisket, short loin and back. Stood very nicely with straight front legs, profuse trousers and good hock angulation. Correct feet. Loved his coat and markings. Movement improved when at a faster pace. CC. 2 Miles & Dean’s Ch Neradmik Kiss Chase With Lekkerbek. Although a slightly bigger boy, he was in proportion and well built. Correct, velvety ears. Rounder eye and wider front than 1. Good loin and profuse coat with well-muscled hindquarters. 3 Harris’s Amikirs Lover Boy For Watchkees.
VB (2,1) 1 Kerr’s Caraspitz Good Luck Charm. What a sweetheart with a lovely head and eye. Good colouring and well-plumed tail. Good rear movement and side action, although appeared to have a slightly soft topline.
PB (2) 1 Queen’s Serenbauch Kiara. Beautiful head with dark clear spectacles and accurate eye set with such a glint. Good front with correct depth and breadth. Highly set, well-plumed tail. Lovely length of leg. Moved well once settled. Excellent shoulder markings and good coat colour with one so young. CC. 2 Hopkins’s Serenbauch Andromeda. Litter sister to 1 who is a lighter boned and smaller girl with a very feminine head. Correct markings. Moved ok.
LB (6,3) 1 Atkinson’s Winkelstar Daphnis. Really liked this girl’s head proportions. Lovely outline, strong front and good movement, who held her level topline. Stood 4-square with no prompts. Fitted jacket with correct coat texture, just would have preferred clearer markings. RCC. 2 Ring’s Neradmik Tantrums n Tiaras. Compact girl with great ears, clear spectacles but preferred eye of 1. Good side action and maintained a level topline, however appeared slightly close away. Pleasing tail set in good plume. 3 Johnston’s Tykees Full Of Chaos.
OB (2,1) 1 Bell’s Foxifayre Keep The Faith With Allforus (ai) JW. What a joy to see such a happy girl enjoy her time in the ring with her brisk movement. Would have preferred smaller ears. Although she was lighter in colour overall, her tips were coloured correctly.
