GOOD CITIZEN DOG SCHEME BITCH – NO ENTRIES

I would like to thank the Crufts Committee for giving me the honour of judging the breed I love and the exhibitors for the quality entry; it was thrilling to see well-filled classes, particularly in Open Dog and Open Bitch. In many classes I was spoilt for choice. Also, thanks to my very efficient and patient stewards. I found a variety in size and type and some dogs with short legs and long backs which does not give the desired compact shape. I was delighted with my main winners and both the CC winners were a credit to their owners/breeders.
Veteran Dog (4 entries; 0 absent) 1 Newman’s Leazehond Lightning Bolt Eleven years of age and a credit to his owner/breeder, his movement belying his age as he moved effortlessly on a loose lead. He has a gorgeous head and expression and coat of good colour and texture. Good length of neck leading into correct shoulders and a sturdy body with good depth of rib and good bone. High set, tightly curled tail. So well-balanced and completely at one with his owner. Best Veteran 2 Hickson’s Ch Kichigai’s Only The Lonley Slightly smaller in proportions than 1 but he has a compact body with ample bone and coat of beautiful colour and contrast. Correct fox-like head and expression. Moved well. 3 Hopkins’ Int/bel/ie/nl Ch Quasars Light Van Het Earlscamp Serenaubach Good sized dog with a very masculine head and expression. Longer cast than 1 and 2. His coat was profuse and dark. Good tail set. Rear movement was a little close today.
Puppy Dog (1 entry; 0 absent)1 Gardner’s Devonia’s Love Wil Find A Way for Manzanakees Upstanding puppy, coming up to one year of age, of good size and in lovely coat. Ample bone and sturdy body. Attractive head. Moved well. Best Puppy
Junior Dog (2 entries; 1 absent)1 Painter’s Serenaubach Regulus Not a happy boy today. He had a short compact body and a very tight tail but he was unsettled on the move.
Post Graduate Dog (2 entries; 0 absent)1 Gardner’s Keitakees Small Town Boy with Manzanakees This young dog presents a beautiful profile. He was in profuse coat of good colour and texture. Correct head and expression. Arched neck leading into good shoulders. Short back good bone and lovely cat-like feet. Moved briskly. 2 Gate’s Winklestar Alnair via Lacetrom Smaller made than 1 and less profuse coat but the coat was a beautiful, striking colour. Very attractive head with small, neat ears. A little bouncy on the move.
Limit Dog (8 entries; 1 absent)1 Rose’s Dianakees Inspector Morse at Esorkees Smart dog with compact body and good bone. Coat of lovely colour. Attractive head and expression. Short back with good spring of rib. Good tail set. Moved well. 2 Matthews and Lee’s Winklestar Deneb at Valindale Slightly longer cast than 1. Profuse coat with good contrast. He has a good length of neck to balance his height. Good tail set. Very well presented. 3 Lindsay’s Mezanda Mystic Starman Again a longer cast dog. Coat of good colour and contrast. Good bone. Very attentive to owner. Moved well.
Open Dog (12 entries; 1 absent)1 Bardsley’s Ch Skathki Just Got Wicked Totally masculine, stylish dog with substance but no hint of coarseness and in wonderful condition. Lovely head of correct proportions. Dark, obliquely-set eyes and neat ears. Arched neck leading to correct shoulder. Short back with high-set, well-plumed tail all contributing to the perfect outline. Profuse coat of correct texture and striking colour, perfectly presented. Correct brisk movement. At one with his owner, he won a lovely class of quality dogs. Dog CC and Best of Breed 2 Harris’ Ch Kichigai Boy Is Back In Town for Watchkees A dog of lovely outline with correct head and expression. Good neck and shoulder. Short-coupled with good depth of rib. Beautifully presented profuse coat. Moved very well. Reserve CC 3 Fedeli’s Ch Aragorn Elessar El’fiyskiy Berill
Another lovely outline. Attractive head and expression with small, neat ears. Coat of good colour. Good bone. Well-presented and moved well.
Good Citizen Dog (1 entry; 0 absent)1 Murray’s Flatmeer Fliegend Substantial dog with plentiful harsh, dark coat but still displaying the required markings. Nice body shape with good tail set.

Veteran Bitch (7 entries; 0 absent)1 Marshall’s Torrikees Made In Heaven at Devonia Beautiful overall shape and coat of clear colour. Pretty head and expression with dark oblique eye. Arched neck leading to correct shoulders. Short back and high tail set. Moved well. 2 Hattersley’s Torrikees Sea Breeze Ten years of age and enjoying her day, showing her heart out. Pretty head with small well-set ears. Beautifully presented.
Puppy Bitch (6 entries; 2 absent)) 1 Marshall’s Devonia Hakuna Matata Litter sister to the winner of Puppy Dog with many of the same comments applying. Ears could be a little smaller but they are well-set. 2 Brunt’s Zandvoort Grace’s Secret Good size puppy with a fitted coat of rich colour. Good bone and good length of leg. Less steady on the move than 1. 3 Gregory’s Amikirs Pritti The baby of the class, enjoying her day. Attractive head. Coat of good, rich colour and markings. Well-set tail.
Junior Bitch (2 entries; 0 absent) 1 Hopkins’ Serenaubach Andromeda Pretty head with small, neat ears and dark eye. Plenty of coat and good plume to tail. Adequate bone. A little wide in front. 2 Queen’s Serenaubach Kiara at Martellkees Very full of herself! More creamy in colour than 1, her litter sister, slightly longer in the body and larger overall. Lovely dark eye.
Post Graduate Bitch (3 entries; 1 absent)1 Dembiniok’s Mezanda Missy Sparkles with Hollrexia Good sized bitch. Showed and moved very well. Good bone and nice tail set. 2 Hopkins’ Serenaubach Sadwrn Not too co-operative with handler but I managed to see enough. Good sized bitch in nice coat. Moved wide in front.
Limit Bitch (7 entries; 1 absent)1 Gate’s Winklestar Alsephina via Lacetrom This bitch presents a lovely outline. Sturdy body. Quality coat of good colour and contrast and she has good bone. Very pretty head with correct ear set. Moved very well and challenged hard for the Reserve CC. 2 Johnston’s Tykees Full of Chaos Very pretty bitch with a lovely overall shape. She was giving her owner a hard time on the co-operation front! Moved well. 3 Newman’s Wolfswinkel Maria Ogren at Leazehond Smaller type with rich coloured coat and good tail set. Moved very well.

In excellent condition and one of the best movers today, belying her age.
