Judge’s report Leeds 2012, Keeshond

A very pleasing entry, I was particularly impressed with the puppies as evidenced by the fact that the bitch CC and both reserves came from the puppy class. This promises very well for the future of the breed.

Puppy D (4) 1. Neradmik Handsome Hero. Very impressive, top quality, nine months old puppy, very well developed for his young age. Attractive, well proportioned, masculine head, neat, well-placed ears. Short, compact body, excellent topline and tailset. Moderate, balanced angulation both ends. Excellent forechest for his age. Very pleasing coat quality, colour and typical markings. Moved well from all angles, needed to concentrate a bit more on the task when moved individually, but improved with repeated performances. ResCC and Best Puppy. 2. Lyntova Legend Has It. Eye-catching puppy of excellent quality, but needs to grow a bit more on his legs for optimal balance. Pleasing, masculine head, but prefer slightly longer muzzle. Well placed, ivy-leaf ears. Neck of balanced length and with beautiful arch. Not quite as developed in forechest as the winner. Very pleasing topline and tailset. Excellent coat for age with pleasing colours and markings. Efficient mover.
3. Bargeway Mr Bojangles

Junior D (5,1) 1. Collcrist Maximus. Well balanced short and compact young dog with a very attractive silhouette. Powerful, masculine head, rather square in muzzle. Dark eyes, excellent ears, well defined spectacles. Firm and slightly sloping back. Showed some traces of brown in his colour. Sound and well balanced mover. 2. Eastkees Time Lord. Just nine months old, very powerful and masculine dog. Strong head, I would not like any more stop than this. Pleasing ears. Very well developed body for his age. Attractive, firm topline, but tail could be slightly higher set. Excellent coat. Very efficient and sound mover. 3. Bargeway Keen To Rumble

Post Graduate D (3,1) 1. Bert Von Ricara. Elegant dog, compact and well proportioned, but I would prefer him somewhat stronger. Well proportioned head with well placed and well carried small ears. Spectacles could be more defined. Very good neck which he is using to his advantage. Short, well made body, well placed and carried tail. Pleasing coat. Balanced mover with excellent carriage. 2. Rossvale Frankly My Dear Kyross. Heavier male, more masculine than the winner, but could be more up on legs and is longer coupled and thus not as proportionate. Masculine head. Dark, but rather round eyes. Typical ears. Firm topline, very well developed in body. In full coat of excellent structure. Would not show himself up in movement, lacked carriage and this contributed negatively to his overall impression.

Limit D (4) 1. Pommary Magic Tricks at Colpatron. A very masculine dog, larger than ideal and in my assessment rather coarse all through. The same thing could be said about his head with broad skull and rather wide-set ears. Strong neck, very well developed in body, he excels in spring of rib, firm back and well-set tail. Ample bone. Powerful in his side movement, but toed in in front.

Open D (7) 1. Hunnivoles Woody Valentine JW. Masculine dog of excellent type and quality, well up on legs and with excellent body proportions. Strong, masculine head with pleasing planes, I would not like any more stop than this. Very pleasing ears and eyes contributing to an attractive and typical expression. Firm topline, well coupled and compact. Excellent tailset. Just the ideal amount of bone. Excellent coat, colour and typical markings. Moved very well indeed when his handler found his ideal speed. CC and BOB. 2. Am.Ch.Kemonts Skyline’s Game Boy. Well made, compact seven year old dog, another of excellent type and quality. Well-shaped and proportioned head with typical ears. Uses his neck to his advantage. Short, firm back, well set tail. Excellent coat quality, but with a brownish taint. Moved very well from the side, rather wide in front. 3. Ir.Ch. Arctic Kees Best Kept Secret

Puppy B (7,1) 1. Neradmik Steppin’ Up The Game at Norkees. Well grown, yet feminine bitch puppy of excellent overall quality. Very well constructed, very well proportioned and with such a star attitude even at such a young age, using her neck to show off. Well sloped shoulders. Very attractive head and expression, well placed ivy-leaf shaped ears. Firm back, very attractive, well-set tail. Excelled in coat and colour. Moved very well, especially from the side and from behind. CC. 2. Lyntova Midnight Dream, Another impressively handsome bitch puppy with a truly lovely silhouette, very feminine and not as large as the winner, but well proportioned and with enough length of leg. Beautiful head and expression. Short, firm and well coupled body with excellent topline and tailset. Not quite the clear grey colour of the winner, but excellent coat quality. Moved very well. resCC. 3. Amikins Just Deserts

Junior B (5,1) 1. Vandersee Wedding Belle. Quality, feminine bitch of excellent type and size. Well shaped head with pleasing expression when she shows her ears. Moderate neck. Short, compact body with well set tail. Balanced angulation both ends. Firm back. Sound mover, but could be more enthusiastic and would profit from some more carriage. 2. Eastkees Timeless Love. Strong, well developed bitch of very attractive type and quality. Would prefer darker eyes. Pleasing ears. Strong neck, firm back, excellent spring of ribs. Slightly longer in her couplings than my ideal. Beautiful coat. Came into her own and impressed in side movement, very coordinated and with plenty of energy. 3. Gallowtree Me and My Gal

Post Graduate B (9,1) The largest class of the day, but not the best. These bitches showed a large variation in type and proportions and were difficult to judge. 1. Martellkees Forget Me Not By Ricara. Feminine, quite refined bitch, very well proportioned in her silhouette. Her head is a bit stronger than the rest of her as she is rather fine in bone. Excellent ears. Balanced neck with attractive nape. Firm back, well set tail. Excellent grey colour tone, but could have somewhat more distinct markings. Not in full coat, but very pleasing coat structure. Moved very light on her feet and well synchronized. 2. Torrikees Shakira Among Serenaubach. Striking bitch standing still, very compact and well proportioned. Pleasing head and expression. Good neck. Short, firm back. Excellent colour tone. Moved with pleasing balance from the side, but not the soundest in front. 3. Sasha

Limit (7,6) 1. Liefkees Annabell. Big, powerful bitch, just feminine enough. Strong, but attractive and well shaped head with ideal spectacles. Rather large and wide-set ears. Excellent , well arched neck. Firm back, but a little high behind. Well developed body. Excelled in coat and colour. Moved with balance and strength, but I would like to see her somewhat lighter on her feet.

Open B (6,2) 1. Ch. Lady Godiva’s Guilty Pleasures with Neradmik. Powerful, well made bitch, carrying a huge coat which detracts a little from her elegance. Very attractive head and expression as a result of excellent headplanes, well placed and shaped ears, well shaped eyes and excellent spectacles. Moderate neck. Firm, moderately short back, beautiful tail. Balanced angulation both ends. Moved soundly and efficiently, if on the heavier side. Obviously a good brood bitch as she was the dam of the young bitch CC-winner and the dog resCC-winner & best puppy. 2. Eastkees Say No More. Feminine bitch of excellent type and quality and with a lovely outline standing. Attractive head and expression, good ears. Excellent neck, firm back and very well set tail. Rather overangulated behind. Used her legs well enough on the move, but lost some of the carriage and therefore some of her balance on the move. 3. Ir.Ch. Stratus Armarni Grange

Veteran B (1) 1. Allforus Crystal Dream for Yontan. Attractive bitch with a beautiful outline and in very good shape for her age. Well proportioned and well balanced. Feminine head with attractive spectacles. Good neck. Well angulated front. Firm back, well set tail. Moved well from all angles, especially for her age. Would prefer a cleaner colour which would have made her competitive in the line-up.
