I very much enjoyed judging this entry of Keeshonds and thank the exhibitors for the excellent entry. We had a good sized ring which allowed plenty of space for movement and the frisky youngsters chance to settle. Overall I found the breed in a fair state but a few things need watching. Balance was often spoilt by legs being too short and I would have preferred more daylight underneath the bodies. Without exception small ivy leafed ears were absent, such a shame since large thin ears contribute nothing to expressions. Some muzzles were more than 50% again giving a rather plain expression.
VD (5,1) 1 Brunt Ch Zandvoort Dream Machine, presents a very balanced outline and felt he stood away here, head is well laid out, defined spectacles, dark eyes well set, definite stop, strong neck, decent front assembly, well ribbed up, firm topline, high set tail, excellent mover shown in full coat. 2 Wilkes and Clarke Helkeesen Surfin at Dakaraikees, 8 year old, not quite the leg length of 1, well laid out head and good expression from dark eyes, straight front, very high set tail and quality coat, decent mover. 3 Wilkin Ch Pommary Quick Silver at Whizkees, nicely up on the leg, touch full in eye, can stand awkward at times, high set tail and shown in good nick.
PD (1) 1 Kerr Levi Altere V Kees Vit De Polders, promising 10mo lad, very well grown and balanced, liked his head and properties, definite stop, good pencilling, head set on arched neck, strong straight front, ribcage developing, double curl to high set tail, definition to stifles, moved respectably, BPD.
JD (6,1) A very lively class. 1 Evans Amikirs Rider of the Storm at Canterwey, scored on overall balance and freedom in action, head is balanced with dark eyes of reasonable shape, flat skull and good markings, decent front assembly, well ribbed up and back, high set tail and carriage, harsh coat, stepped out smartly. 2 Matthews Szaryk Dutch Bargemaster with Valindale, very compact with neat headpiece, some of the best ears today, could still develop in front a touch, short loin, firm topline and high set tail, quite a handful to show. 3 Potts Shelderon Spooksel Sterren, very soundly put together, only just 12 month old and still has some maturing to do, has a good framework to build on, easy steady mover.
PGD (12,2) 1 Lindsay Mezanda Merry Starshower, in the final run off he scored in freedom of action, liked head and carriage with expressive eyes, super front and shoulders, quality coat, high set tail, altogether a good all-round package. 2 Brunt Zandvoort Purrsonal Life, was quite close up here just not quite the finish in coat today but also very good for type, make and shape, attractive head and expression, stepped out smartly. 3 McBeath Samoykees Fly Me To The Moon, presented a good outline, head well laid out, leg length about right, head set on excellent neck, also liked his eye and expression, handler could possible get a little more out of him.
LD (12) 1 Gatt Neradmik Cupid Loves, not the biggest but very compact in a beautifully made frame, very much liked his make, shape and style which combined to convey an overall neat package, his eyes are dark, ribs are sprung and carried back, head is beautifully laid out and neatly pencilled, moved out smartly as expected, RCC. 2 Brunt Zandvoort Purrsonal Life, close up and also compact, not much to separate them, not quite the head carriage of 1 in the final run off. 3 Carroll Lyntova Midnight Legend, solidly built and all male, not quite the intensity of expression of 1 and 2 but oh so much to like about him, put down to the minute.
OD (12) A very good class but mixed types. 1 Harris Ch Neradmik All About The Boy for Watchkees, have judged this lad on two previous occasions and awarded him the reserve cc each time but today he was determined this was going to be his day and pulled out all the stops. Projects a compact package, he is masculine yet not overdone, very typical in head with reasonable ears set well on a flat skull and contributing to his expression, well ribbed and bodied, tail carried high, soundly modelled hindquarters, moves out smartly and could not be denied the CC and BOB. 2 Bennett Byquy Rich Gent, also compact and masculine without exaggeration, shows off his virtues to advantage and moves out well. 3 Cullen and Brown Ch Rossvale’s Legacy for Lekkerbek, also masculine without being overdone, carrying a heavy coat but of harsh texture, head well laid out and neatly pencilled, good for leg length, steady mover.
VB (3) 1 Passmore Torrikees With Attitude, compact and shown in good order, head very well laid out giving a good expression from dark eye of good shape with neat spectacles, straight front, well ribbed and bodied, high set tail. 2 Sharpe-Bale Ch Neradmik Chanel, slightly taller and well balanced, clean dark eye, shown in firm condition and a credit to owner. 3 Gate Lacetrom Cruivie, also shown in good form, eye a tad bold, well bodied, huge coat, decent leg length.
PB (4) 1 Saunders Liefkees Adina 11 month old and developing well, decent leg length giving good balanced outline, appealed in head and expression, reasonable expression, defined stop, straight front down to tight round feet, high set tail, decent mover. 2 Newman Leazehond Prairie Flower, 10 month old and quite similar, coat slightly more advanced, head attributes well distributed, decent shoulders, well ribbed and bodied, moved out tidily. 3 Church Leazehond Amber Streppes, decent expression from lovely eye shape and dark colour, a touch slack in pastern, well ribbed up and carrying a high set tail, a touch sluggish on the move but sound.
JB (6) 1 Newman Wolfswinkwel Maria Ogren at Leazehond, this young lady appealed for type, preferred her head attributes and expression and she was slightly neater in ear, defined stop, good front, well bodied, high set tail and a respectable mover, BP. 2 Grahamslaw Shelderon Spirit of Shakira, good general construction giving tidy overall balanced outline, would prefer neater ears, broad chest and straight front, arch to neck, level topline, definition to hindquarters. 3 Wilkes, Clarke and Peck Dakaraikees Silver Charm, developing well but still a little raw up against more mature competition, good outline and balance, decent mover.
PGB (7) 1 Redler and Wheatley Byquy Kinky Boots at Keitakees, liked her for type particularly her head layout and neat thick ears, defined stop all giving good expression, carries a strong neck into a straight front, well ribbed up, firm loin, high set tail and definition to hindquarters, showed and moved steadily. 2 Palmer Shelderon Super Steller, presents a good clean outline with good leg length and neck, liked her expression also, dark almond shaped eye, easy mover. 3 Lindsay Mezanda Melys Sparkles, similar to 2 just a little leaner in body, well laid out head plus stop, arch to neck, shown in quality coat.
LB (11,2) 1 Sharp-Bale Neradmik Grace Kelly, ultra feminine and oh so well balanced, skull to muzzle in proportion, super dark eye, broad chest with straight forelimbs down to tidy feet, firm elbows, well ribbed and bodied, short loin, very high set tail, definition to hindquarters, moved out well, clinched the CC with some to spare. 2 Marshall Torrikees Made in Heaven at Devonia, this girl has much to commend her and well deserved the RCC alongside Grace Kelly, solidly put together whilst retaining her femininity, balanced fore and aft, firm in ribcage and body, her head is well proportioned and she steps out freely. 3 Reed-Peck Byquy Walkin Boots, feminine and also well balanced, shown in tip top show condition.
OB (8,3) 1 Hickson Ch Kichigai Magic Dancer, mature lady with expressive headpiece and kind eye, fair ears and placement, broad chest and straight forelimbs, well ribbed up and back, shown and moved to advantage. 2 Sharpe-Bale Ch Neradmik Miss Holly Berry, similar in some ways to 1 but just preferred expression of 1, put on a good show and stepped out soundly. 3rd Passmore Ch Torrikees Lust For Life, upstanding with decent leg length, liked her expression, showed to advantage.
GCDS (2) 1 Gregory Ch Amikirs Fabulicious Time, super for balance with good leg length giving excellent outline, head well laid out, dark eyes, straight front, well ribbed and back, firm loin, high tail, in good coat, moved out well, 2 Kerr Caraspitz Good Luck Charm, up on the leg but well balanced, clean in head and neck, well ribbed up, showed herself off very well.
