Midland Counties 07 KEESHONDS.

Thank you for the lovely entry for my first time awarding cc’s in this breed. I have followed the breed for many years, having seen such lovely dogs & bitches as Jolly Don, Nighthawk, Jupiter, Sgt Pepper, Scarlett ‘O’Hara, and Keepsake to name but a few.
What on earth has happened to the true (Brisk) movement that is so typical to the breed?
I didn’t feel moving twice round the ring at the beginning of each class excessive. Possibly not enough attention is paid to movement as together with balance and breed points make a correct Keeshond.

Puppy Dog 2 ).
1st Pattinson Eastkees Licence to Love. 7 months. Pleasing in head and expression. Correct shaped eye, good cat feet. Good quality and definition of coat. Would like a shorter loin. Sound but immature in movement. (promising).
2nd Eggleston Eastkees Jack of Diamonds for Ricara. . Very much a baby. Pleasing in head and expression. Showed well. Movement a little wayward, needs to be kept at home for a few months.

Junior D 3).
Day Allforus Dice Master CC.
2nd Brewer Helkeesen Adam. Smaller and very raw junior. As pleasing in head as winner. Good in ribcage, sound in hindquarters. Just needs time.
3rd Cusick Leasehond Raffles Dream.

Post Grad D 6).
Day Allforus Dicemaster
2nd Barton Rossvale Spirit in the Sky at Collcrist. Quality youngster, pleasing in head and expression. Good spring of ribcage. Sound in front action, hind action could be better. In good coat, both in colour and texture. He’s starting to get his act together.
3rd Hills Plymkees First Edition.

Limit D 7).
1st Sharpe-Bale Neradmik Take a Chance. Res cc.
2nd Bennet & Savage Thorsdale Trade Mark. What a shame shown in his underclothes although what he had was correct in colour and texture. Pleasing in most departments and sound on the move.
3rd Rose Rossvale Sacret Spirit to Esorkees.

Open D 5).
1st Snowball Rossvale Latin Spirit.
2nd Hickson Kichigai Great Pretender. Always liked this dog. Thought he would have gone all the way. Not a great deal wrong with him but he just did not perform on the day.
3rd Brunt Am Ch Lasers Tuxedo Junction of Zandvoort.

Now crunch time between the 3 dogs.
If my heart ruled my head Latin Spirit would be a Ch. Good in head and expression, small ears. Dark coat colour but still defined. Good spectacles, excellent middle piece and in hard condition. Good brisk profile movement. Just did not come to me true or going away
Take a Chance. If this dog had looked as he did at BUBA last year, could have taken the cc, but lost coat on his ruff which changed his balance and looked a bit stuffy in neck. He has the most wonderful feet, excels in hindquarters and hind movement. In lovely muscle tone and body condition. Texture of coat spot on but failed in colour. R cc.
CC Dice Master. Good eye and expression. Although ear slightly large. Good in shoulder and upper arm. Straight front but found him a little loose in pasterns. Could tighten up with correct exercise. The rest of the dog I found most appealing hence cc.

Puppy Bitch 8).
1st B Puppy & Rcc.Francis & Wilding Swashway Stage Struck. Gave this bitches mother similar award when I judged a Ch show without tickets, and think will be better. Good in head and expression. Correct ribbing, good tail and set. Good in movement without having to run.
2nd Passmore Torrikees With Attitude.
3rd Peterson Eastkees Dare to Dream of Foxifayre. May I say I was really happy with these 3 puppies and not a lot separated them. 3rd was the baby of the class. They will be battling it out next year.

Junior B 5)
1st Ring Baleissa Posh Totty. Lovely shape of head but expression was spoilt by eye colour. Shoulder not so good . These points held her back in the challenge as the rest of her is of high quality.
2nd Bell Allforus Tumbling Dice. Very nice foxy head. Good front and hindquarters but just a little long in body. Must learn to be handled.
3rd Newman Leasehond Maddy Moonlight.

Post Grad B 5)
1st Swift Keyscourt Blue Angel. When she came into the ring, thought it would take something to beat her. She had the balance, the coat colour and quality of head shape and expression, and then she beat herself. Sound coming and going. Could not forgive her temperament in the challenge. Won this class hands down. Shame.
2nd Hill Plymkees Limit Edition. Ok in head, not bad moving but is long.
3rd Lush Zandvoort Heavens Dream for Ednaaron.

Limit B 8).
1st Wadmore-Smith Rossvale The Look of Love. CC & BOB. The most sweetest of heads and expression with good ears. Well presented coat of quality, texture and colour. Sound both fore and aft. Lovely in profile. Just wish she was a little taller. (We cannot have everything ).
2nd Francis & Wilding Swashway Material Girl. Good in Body, coat colour and movement. Just failed to 1st in expression and ear size.
3rd Brewer Helkeesen Eventful

Open B 9).
1st Eggleston Martellkees A Love Affair for Ricara. Not a great deal wrong with her, Sound, good in coat and has the correct balance. Just lacked femininity in the challenge.
2nd Goddard Ch Swashway Drama Queen. Sound in movement. Coat of good colour and texture. Lacked in stop which made her head a little plain, but still a quality bitch.
3rd Luckhurst Ch Gavimir Hubble Bubble.
