I thoroughly enjoyed judging Keeshonds again in the UK. Thank you for a very nice entry and pleasant atmosphere in the ring. I found more overall depth of quality in the females as is often the case and males more challenging to judge. Having said that I was well pleased with my CC and res.CC winners in males and there are a number of promising youngsters coming up. Boys will be boys and some of the younger set would definitely benefit from a few more visits to ringcraft classes! I had some really wonderful Keeshond bitches to go over. My winner who became a Champion at 18 months impressed me so much with her many qualities. I was also very impressed with my res. CC winning Norwegian import girl, who fully deserves her title.

Compact and stands well on his legs. Excellent head shape with super eye and expression. Quality bone, good body for age and sound quarters. Excellent tail. Correct colour variation. Beautiful head, dark eye of correct shape, good spectacles. Medium bone. Needs a little more body. Excellent coat and good colour variation. Once settled moved very well. Best Puppy 2ND Lindsay’s Mezanda Mystic Starman, nine month old masculine good puppy who now needs more training and practice. Very nice quality head. Medium bone. Well bodied for age. Good tail. Junior Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 0 1ST Gardner’s Keitakees Small Town Boy with Manzanakees (Mrs S & Mr S Gardner), 15 month old very short & compact masculine young male. Needs better discipline in the ring. Very good head shape with pleasing dark eye and correct well set ears. Excellent bone and good body. Medium rear. A little close going away, but moves well in profile. Very good coat quality and good colour variation. 2ND Peck’s Keitakees to Love Somebody at Byquy, litter brother to 1st. Correctly proportioned young male not in full coat. A little restless in the ring. Head needs to break a little more. Would like a little more bone. Correct tail. Pleasing mover.

Super head with very typical eye and expression, neat well carried ears. Lovely bone and strong body. Good mover. Correct colour variation. CC. 2ND Harris’ Ch Kichigai Boy Is Back in Town for Watchkees JW, three year old smaller male not in full coat. Quality head, eye and expression. Special Beginners Dog Entries: 1 Absentees: 0 1ST Pavitt’s Serenaubach Lleuad Taro, two year old dog who according to his owner was attending his first show. A strong-willed dog who needs a lot of training and ring practice. Masculine dog of very nice type and proportions. Quality head. Very good bone and body. Needs better discipline on the move. Very good coat and colour variation. I hope his owner will persevere with him as his type is pleasing.

Plenty to like about this puppy, litter sister to 1st. and 2nd. in Minor Puppy Dog. Compact outline. Very good quality head and pleasing eye. Good bone. Good colour variation. Moves soundly, but needs training.

Beautiful eye and expression, good spectacles. Front needs more time, well bodied. Moves with good steps, but she would benefit from more training. 2ND Pattison’s Eastkees Call of The Rauch, 13 month old junior, again rather unruly and shown a little plump. Typical compact outline. Pretty feminine head with good eye and expression. Medium bone. Needs a lot more ring training, particularly on the move.
Post Graduate Bitch Entries: 6 Absentees: 2 1ST Lush’s Dianakees Carolina Moon, 18 month old strong bitch, not in full coat and shown a little plump. Excellent head, dark eye, well set and carried ears. Compact body. Tail set could be better. Moves well when shown at the right pace. 2ND Lindsay’s Watermyth Cassiopeia by Mezanda, 21 month old strong bitch of good type. Just needs a little more confidence. Good skull, pleasing eye, but would like stronger muzzle. Good body. Very good colour variation. Best Veteran 2ND Hill’s Whizzkees Ebony Silver for Plymkees JW ShCM, eight year old bigger veteran. Nice head, but ears a little large. Good body, but would prefer better front. Good colour variation. Moves well. Had a lot to say in the ring!
