How sad that this once popular breed could regularly send a choice of several potential Group winners into the BIS ring. Today I was disappointed that this is no longer the case. Yes, I had no problem finding quality CC winners but that extra pzzazz and extra something was missing.
MPD(1) 1st Gardner’s Devonia’s Love Will Find Wa and having a decent neck. Ample spring and depth of rib and coat progressing well a promising start to my day with this charming baby. Lovely head and such a soft, enquiring expression aided by lovely neat ears. Moved out with an even stride. Only lost out BP award on maturity.
JD(2) 1st Matthews & Lees Winklestar Deneb at Valindale a very attractively headed youngster, middle sized, well ribbed and in excellent coat. He played up too much on the move but given time to mature and settle down to the job in hand, he could finish with his title. 2nd Gate’s Winklestar Alnair via Lacetro another youngster with promise. Head nicely balanced, well placed and shaped ears, dark expressive eyes and sufficient neck. Carried his tail well and on the stack has appeal. He is well ribbed, tail is correctly carried and he was in lovely jacket . Just needs maturity.
PGD(4/1) 1st Pattison’s Quest Eastkees del Monte Dragnone nice for size and well weighted bone. Pleasing head, enough arch to his neck, level backed and good tail set. In excellent coat and side action shows balance on the move. 2nd Rose’ Dianakees Inspector Morse at Esorkees at first glance I thought this was my winner as he too is a good size for a male, attractive head with lovely eyes, nicely bodied and well coated. Not giving his best on the move and needs ring training. 3rd Murray’s Flatmeer Fliegend
LD(3) 1st & CC Church’s Shelderon Sage With Tykees this chap never put a foot wrong today. Came, saw and beat the rest of the males. Lovely size, well weighted bone, delightful head and expression aided by such good ears and a well arched neck. Ample spring and depth of rib, good forechest and straight fore legs with good feet. I thought he was the best male mover, un-exaggerated and rhythmic in profile then stops four square and shows his head off. 2nd & Res CC Ring’s Neradmik Shine On Harvey Moon at first glance I thought he would be my winner as his head and expression are so me. On the stack he has appeal, classy, shapely and an air of quality. He was in excellent coat but sadly played up on the move which had to tell against him. With control should end up ennobled. 3rd Downs’ Liefkees Assisi
OD(11/4) 1st Peck & Matthews’ Ch Keitakees to Love Somebody at Byquy a worthy Ch. but yet another which spoiled his chances by playing up on the move. Loved his head and expression, excellent size. ample substance for his sex and in good coat. My notes state “classy but a handful moving” 2nd Harris’ Amikira Lover Boy for Watchkees different type altogether being long cast so his length/height is less appealing. All male head, a little more neck would improve his outline but on the plus side he was a credit in coat presentation and he never put a foot wrong on the move where he was most impressive. 3rd Pattison’s Serenaubach Full of Wonder
VD(2) Two golden oldies aged 10 and 8 respectively. Winner was in fuller coat and I loved his knowing head and expression from such well set and appealing eyes. The second was not in the fullness of coat of the winner but he is a lovely size, moved around the ring with sass and style and what a co-operative showman. These two are a great credit to the breed,. 1st Miles, Cullen, Brown & Brown’s Ch Rossvale’s Legacy for Lekkeerbek 2nd Hickson’s Kichigai’s Only the Lonely

MPB(4/1) Two very pretty, ultra feminine headed babies which with maturity could have a bright future. The winner was the more mature and steadiest mover, never put a foot wrong and was such a responsive show girl. The second needs to fill out her frame, especially her forechest and to settle down when moving as her rear angulation suggests she has drive but she played up on the move, stepping short. 1st Vider’s Tykees is Courage 2nd Church’s Tykees Soul Searching 3rd Johnston & Church’s Tykees Im Not Gonna Lie
PB(1) 1st & BP Pattison’s Eastkees Black Orchid a 9 months old charmer which has a very pretty, feminine head with that kind, somewhat wise and interested expression aided by well set and carried ears and such lovely eyes. I liked her size, ample weight in bone, she has a decent spring of rib and was well presented in coat. Moved out with balance and purpose.
JB(2) 1st & CC Fitches’ Sofia Loren Della Ginevrina (Imp Ita) I liked this youngster a lot and hope she has a bright future. I loved her head and expression, lovely reach of neck and such a good ruff, well ribbed, sufficient second thigh, well boned and tight feet. In super coat she is a responsive showgirl and moved out soundly both ways. 2nd Gate’s Winklestar Alsephina via Lacetrom she takes the eye on the stack when profile viewed. However, her pasterns are not as firm as they could be and this was reflected when her front action is watched. Nice feminine head with that appealing bright eyed expression. Sufficient spring and depth of rib and in good coat.
PGB(3/1) 1st Church’s Tykees We Go Solo I felt she was my winner when they first moved around the ring as she has that light, free striding action which means her construction is balanced. Feminine in head with such neat ears and that so alive expression from well set and shaped eyes. Good length/height proportions & in super coat. 2nd Johnston’s Tykees Full of Chaos this pretty headed bitch will appeal on the stack as she is well balanced in construction, was in very good coat and is a lovely size. Handling confirms she is well ribbed. Not asa good in front action as the winner.
LB(3) 1st & Res CC Sharp-Bale’s Neradmik Shimmer N Shine a delightful example of the breed and so much to admire. Her head type & expression, size, length/height proportions all appeal and she was in good coat. She is sound moving but lacked the joi de vivre of the ticket winner as they circled the ring. I believe just needs 1 more CC to wear her crown and that should be earned soon. 2nd Church’s Tykees Its Just A Phase this is a well constructed bitch of lovely size and length/height proportions. Pleasing head pattern, not quite the expression of the winner but she was in excellent coat and side on her stride was balanced and unexaggerated. 3rd Hill’s Whizzkees Silver Spirit
OB(4/4)
VB(2) 1st Hill’s Ch Whizzkees Ebony Silver for Plykees JW ShCM VW what a worthy Ch this is!! In superb coat she takes the eye on the stack. Loved her head and expression, her outline is so good and she is still fleet footed on the move. Just a touch of the middle age spread which told against her in the challenge. 2n Fetches’ NI Ch Samoykees Exclusive Moon (ai) another quality headed example of the breed. She is really well bodied, her head is balanced, the ears well placed and her expression so alive. Not quite the firmness in front action of the winner but side on she is balanced and purposeful.
