It was a privilege to judge at the Championship Show of the North of England Keeshond Show once again. My appointment had been postponed so many times due to the Covid pandemic, but now the situation seemed to be all under control. The show was held in a very nice and spacious venue with a large ring.
Characters were very lovely, all of the exhibits were friendly without any agression. I saw a few dogs with excessive coats and some dogs were overweight, some of them even young dogs. I am afraid that these issues rather affected the placements . Size was alright as were heads, although I saw a few rather round eyes. I had some lovely winners and I was pleased with my lineup of winners.
Many thanks to the Show Secretary and the excellent steward who made my task so much easier.
Minor Puppy Dog 1 Saunders’ Liefkees Amore, 1. Lovely puppy with nice head and dark eyes. Well placed ears. Good bone and moved well. Lovely coat with good coat structure and colour. Best Puppy Dog
Puppy Dog 3- 1 abs 1.Hopkins’Serenaubach Draco. Quite a handful to show. Puppy with lovely wedge shaped head, dark eyes and nice expression. Square body with good outline. Good bone Moved very well. Lovely coat. 2.Pattison’s Quest’Eastkees del Monte Dragnone. Masculine dog with beautiful head with lots of expression. Heavy boned. He moved well . Quite mature coat 3. Burnett’s Torrikees We Will Rock You. Nice head with dark eyes, would prefer ears a bit closer together. Moved well.
Junior Dog 2 1.Peck/Matthews’Keitakees to Love Somebody At Byquy, Super dog. He caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring. Well proportioned head, wedge shaped with lots of expression. Short compact body. Excellent bone with lovely coat. Excellent mover. Presented and handled to perfection It was a pleasure to award him the CC.2. Pattison’s Eastkees King of Kings. Lovely head with dark eyes. Good bone and outline. Sadly a bit out of coat at the day. Needs time to settle.
Novice Dog 1 1Murray’s Flatmeer Fliegend. Nice head with dark eyes, ears a bit wide. I would prefer pencilling a bit more defined. Good bone. Nice coat structure. Did not like the showring very much today.
Post Graduate Dog 1 1.Kerr’s Storm v Kees uit de Polder’s. I would prefer a flatter skull and a more almond shaped eye. Good bone. Moved well. Nice coat.
Limit Dog 5-2 abs 1.Brunt’s Divnyi Drug Dar. Well proportioned wedge shaped head with dark eyes. Alert expression. Short, compact body. Nice topline and good bone. Moved well. Lovely thick coat. Presented and handled excellently. 2. Pattison’s Serenaubach Full of Wonders Masculine type with nice wedge shaped head, dark eyes with small well placed ears. Alert expression. Compact body with good bone. Moved briskly. Lovely coat. 3.Murray’s Flatmeer Flightberry.This four year old has a nice head with dark eyes, well placed ears and lovely expression. Good bone and topline. A little long in body though. Moved well.
Open Dog 5 1.Peck’s Kwajongen He’s A Dandy Byquy. Beautiful boy with lovely head. Dark eyes and small well placed ears. Very alert expression. Compact body with high-set tail. Good bone . Moved beautifully with excellent stride. Lovely harsh coat. Well presented and handled. Pleased to award him the Reserve Dog CC. 2.Hopkins’Int. Ch. Quasars Brilliant Light van het Earlskamp Serenaubach, 5 year old masculine dog with wedge shaped head, dark eyes and well placed ears. Compact body with nice topline and well set tail. Moved well with good stride. Lovely coat of correct structure. Dark with nice markings. 3. Fitches’Samoykees Harbour Lights, Another lovely looking dog with many excellent ponts. Masculine type with lovely head and small well placed ears. Nice neck and topline and compact body. Good bone. Another good mover.
Veteran Dog 4-2 abs 1.Bennettt’s Rich Gent, 8 years old and still in excellent condition. Lovely head with nice expressiom with dark eye and small ears, Compact body. Brisk mover. 2. Miles/Cullen/Cullen/Brown/Brown’s Ch. Rossvale Legacy For Lekkerbek, Almost 10 years old, but still in good condition. Nice head and eyes. Lovely compact body with good topline. Well set tail. Not so steady on the move any more, Lovely coat.
Bred by Exhibitor Dog 3 1.Fitches’Samoykees Harbour Lights -see before 2. Brunt’s Zandvoort Up An Purrsonal, Lovely head with good expression. Nice size and lovely outline. A bit short of coat on the day. 3. Lush’s Ednaaron Moonlight.

Good Citizen Dog 1 1.Craig’s Flatmeer Florisel, Lovely dog with nice head. Squarely built with nice topline/ Good bone. Moved well with stride. Lovely coat.
Minor Puppy Bitch 1 1.Saunders’Liefkees Aleida. Very feminine and promising bitch puppy. Lovely wedge shaped head with dark eyes and well placed ears. Compact body with nice outline. Moved well with confidence. Very lively.
Puppy Bitch 1 1.Johnston’s Tykees Full of Chaos. What a lovely puppy! Just 1 year old. Very feminine and attentive, She has a lovely head with dark eyes with a super expression. Well built, compact and lovely outline. Short back with good tailset. Moved to perfection. Nice coat. I was pleased to award her best puppy in show and the reserve CC.
Junior Bitch 1 1.Pattison’s Eastkees Call of the Raven. Just over a year old . Nice bitch with correct wedge shaped head and lovely expression. Good outline and compact body. Lovely coat. Needs to steady on the move.
Yearling Bitch 2 1. Palmer’s Shelderon Fizzy Bubbles. Nice bitch with correct head and expression. Nice size. Excellent coat. She needs to settle on the move. 2. Lush’Dianakees Carolina Moon. Bitch with nice head and dark eyes. Well built body with good tailset. Lovely coat. Could do with more drive in the hindquarters.
Novice Bitch 2 1.Marfleet’s Flatmeer Fleurish. Sadly out of coat today and therefore she looks a bit out of proportion. Lovely head with correct well set ears and dark eyes. Good bone. She moved well. I would love to see her in full bloom one day. 2. Brunt’s Samba Magiczy Orlik. Her head could be a bit flatter. Dark eyes with ears on the large size. I would prefer her to be a bit squarer in body with more pronounced angulation, Moved well in front but a bit narrow behind.
Post Graduate Bitch 4-1abs A really nice class of bitches. 1. Church’s Tykees It’s Just A Phase. Well, let’s hope this phase will last a long time. Very feminine with alert expression, Super bitch with lovely head, ears and dark eyes. Lovely outline with nice neck and compact body. Moved well both ways. Lovely coat. 2. Potts’ Shelderon The Legal Eagle. Nice bitch with lovely wedge shaped head, dark eyes and well set ears. Moved well with confidence. Good coat. 3. Palmer’s Shelderon Fizzy Bubbles. Seen before.
Limit Bitch 4-2 abs 1.Church’s Leazehond Amber Steppes For Tykees. Nice bitch. Very feminine. Lovely head, compact body. Good outline. Moved well both ways. Nice coat. 2. Brunt’s Almaznyi Istochnik Tropicheskaya Noch. Bitch with lovely head, dark eyes and well set ears. Not in full coat today. I was not impressed with her hind movement.
Open Bitch 5-4 abs. 1.Saunders’Liefkees Adina. Attractive bitch with excellent wedge shaped head, dark eyes and well placed ears. Nice outline with good reach of neck. Moved briskly and correctly both ways. Lovely thick coat with clear markings.
Veteran Bitch 3 1.Kerr’s Caraspitz Good Luck Charm. This 7-year-old bitch is still in excellent condition. She has a lovely head, good outline and compact body. Moved very confidently and correctly. Super coat. 2.Marfleet’s Flatmeer Fleurting. 7 years old. Lovely bitch, but had a bit of trouble showing today. Nice head with dark eyes, good neck and compact body. Moved well. Correct coat. 3. Gate’s Ch. Lacetrom Shuna. Wedge shaped head. Would prefer ears a bit closer together. Her movement would benefit from some weightloss.
Special Vintage Bitch 5- 1 abs 1.Hopkins’Int. Ch.Torrikees Shakira Among Serenaubabach. 12 years old and what a wonderful bitch for her age. Loved everything about her. Lovely feminine correctly shaped head with dark almond shaped eyes, well placed ears. Good compact body. She still moved briskly and confidently. Lovely coat. 2.Brunt’s Ch. Vanstrand Quantum of Solace. 10 -year-old lady with lovely head, eyes and ears. Nice outline and still moved very well. 3.Gate’s Lacetrom Cruivie. 13 years old. She was the oldest dog at the show. Still in super condition. Attractive head, good outline and moved well.
Bred By Exhibitor Bitch 1 1.Gregory’s Amikirs Lovealicious. Wonderful bitch. She has everything I want to see in a Keeshond. Lovely feminine head with correct wedge shape and well defined spectacles. Small ears and a cheeky expression. Good reach of neck, compact body with correct high tailset. She moved briskly and with confidence. Lovely coat of good structure and well defined colouring. Pleased to award her the bitch CC and BIS.
Special Not Bred By Exhibitor Bitch 2 1.Marfleet’s Blume Vom Taubengarten. Big girl with lovely head with dark eyes. Nice reach of neck, a tad long in back. She moved well both ways. Correct Coat and colour. 2. Lush’ Dianakees Carolina Moon. Seen before.
Good Citizen Bitch 1 1. Marfleet’s Flatmeer Fleur Dilly. Lovely bitch although a bit out of coat at the moment. Nice well shaped head with dark eyes and a lovely feminine and alert expression. Excellent bone. She has a compact body with nice outline. Moved well and with confidence. Coat of good structure and colour. Nice pencilling.
