I’d like to thank the hard working committee for a lovely day, making me very welcome and for my lovely gifts. My thanks also to the exhibitors for their super entry braving the weather and the flurry of snow.
Minor Puppy Dog – 1 1st Peck. Keitakees To Love Somebody At Byquy (TAF). Just 7 months, really promising puppy, good head planes with dark mask, nice arch to neck and compact body with enough rear angulation for age, lovely tight tail with good puppy coat and once settled moved out well. BPD
Junior Dog – 1 1st Harris. Amikirs Lover Boy For Watchkees. Coming up to top end of junior and lovely sturdy youngster. Wedge shaped head with dark mask, defined stop and small neat ears set well into large ruff, neck set well into shoulders and compact body with well boned legs, firm over loin and tail set high with tight curl, coat standing well off body, brisk steady movement.
Post Graduate Dog – 2 1st Wilkins. Whizzkees Quicksilver. 2½ years old and maturing nicely. Masculine head with defined stop, dark mask and clear pencil markings to almond shaped eyes, neat small ears held just proud of profuse ruff, good lay back of shoulder with ribs well sprung, chest had good depth with good bone to legs and lovely tight feet, high set tail curled over back with plenty of coat, well developed thigh muscles, coat harsh and dense, his steady brisk movement won him this class. 2nd Kwiecien. Milan Grey Giant. 2 year old, pleasing head and soft expression, neat ears sitting in large ruff, neck of good length and compact body, good tail set and harsh coat, also can look a little wide in front and this did mean his movement wasn’t quite so effortless as 1st.
Limit Dog – 5
Was really splitting hairs with 1st and 2nd here. 1st Fitches. Samoykees Harbour Lights. Just 3 years old and maturing well, his overall shape was balanced and on the move just felt he had the slight edge over 2nd. Masculine wedge shaped head, dark eyes with clear makings, neat thick ears set well into ruff, well defined stop and dark pigmentation to nose and lips, strong under jaw, good arch to neck and set well into shoulders with good lay back, chest deep and ribs well sprung, compact body and well developed thighs and moderate bend of stifle, good bone and tight feet, coat harsh, very steady and brisk on move with easy strides. RBD 2nd Marshall. Arabesque At Devonia (Imp Russ). 3½ year old and very similar comments to 1st apply. In profile had lovely wedge shaped head with compact body and very steady on the move, I just preferred the slightly better eye shape of 1st. 3rd Lush. Ednaaron Moon Light. Nice wedge head with muscular neck and compact body, tail curled tight over body and in profuse coat, slightly heavier than 1st and 2nd and not quite as brisk on the move but steady.
Open Dog – 6 This was a super class with a couple of tough decisions: 1st Hickson. Ch Kichigai Only The Lonely. 6 year old masculine boy who I’ve judged before and he really has matured. Lovely masculine wedge head, dark almond eyes with blackest of pigment, small neat ears set well into head and ruff, moderate arch of neck with well-placed shoulders and good depth to chest, well boned legs that are parallel front and rear, ribs well sprung and firm, compact body, high set tail well-furnished with plenty of coat to breeches, well developed thigh muscle and firm hocks, brisk effortless gait, BD and RBIS and BOS 2nd Harris. Kichigai Boy Is Back In Town For Watchkees JW. 3 year old male from same kennel as 1st and they’re like two peas in a pod. A lot of comments for 1st apply to this boy. Masculine head, good arch of neck, firm compact body, well boned legs and good harsh coat, brisk and steady on the move. 3rd Matthews and Ransley. Ch Szaryk Dutch Bargemaster With Valindale. Balanced on the move with nice overall shape under his coat but just felt he was a little too heavily coated around neck and fore chest, which for me slightly spoilt overall picture.
Veteran Dog – 2 Both 9 years of age and still in good, hard condition. 1st Cullen, Cullen, Brown and Brown. Ch Rossvales Legacy for Lekkerbek. Masculine head showing no sign of age, dark almond eyes with clear pencil lines to rims. Neat ears set well into large ruff, neck moderately arched and leading into well placed shoulders, chest of good depth and firm compact body, high set tail carried well over back with plenty of coat, still well muscled on hindquarters and ample bone, with fluffy breaches, I just preferred his overall shape to 2nd moved slightly steadier than 1st and brisk most of time. BVD 2nd Rose. Ch Rossvale Master Of Destiny For Esorkees. Very similar to 1st & now notice from the same kennel, again in good condition for his age but just felt not quite so fluid on move, on another day I’m sure they could change places.
Special Vintage Dog – 2 Not a lot between these two Vintage males, both were fit and moved out briskly. 1st Wilkin. Whizzkees Onyx Sampson. 12½ year old, pleasing head and dark eyes that were still lovely and bright, neck moderately arched into well laid back shoulder, body firm and compact with adequate rear angulation and in good harsh coat but not overdone. 2nd Stott. Bert Von Ricara. 11½ year old, just preferred slightly better head planes of 1st and overall shape and length of tail, but very steady brisk movement.
Special Not Breed By Exh – 1 1st Miles and Dean. Ch Neradmik Family Affair With Lekkerbek. 8½ year old boy, wedge shaped head with dark expressive eyes, small ears, muscular arched neck, well-placed shoulders, body compact and good rear angulation, nice high tail set, coat harsh and profuse, moved steadily.

Minor Puppy Bitch – 1 1st Brunt. Goldgin Chanel (Imp Russ) NAF TAF. Just 6 months, beautifully balanced shape and so steady on the move, feminine wedge shaped head, soft almond shaped eyed with clear markings, dark muzzle, neat well placed ears, neck of medium length leading into well placed shoulders, compact body and high set tail with good rear angulation.
Puppy Bitch – 4 1st Lee, Malcolm and Matthews. Winklestar Aurura At Valindale. Really lovely breed type for one so young and today was her 1st birthday. Feminine head with really dark mask and super pigmentation, neat velvety ears set well into ruff, nice length of neck leading into well placed shoulders with good lay back, well boned legs and lovely tight cat feet, body firm and compact with high set tail tightly curled, nice rear angulation, harsh coat with good breaching, sound from all angles on the move. BPB and BPIS 2nd Brunt. Goldgin Chanel (Imp Russ) NAF TAF winner of last class and did really push 1st . 3rd Lush. Dianakees Carolina Moon. 11 months, puppy coat beginning to blow, but lovely soundly balanced bitch underneath, just preferred the slightly stronger heads of 1st and 2nd at this stage, very steady on the move.
Junior Bitch – 1 Withheld
Yearling Bitch – 3 1st Gregory. Amikirs Lovealicious JW. Feminine bitch with wedge-shaped head, small neat thick ears, dark spectacled eyes with clear pencil lines and dark mask, proud neck on well-placed shoulders and plenty of bone to neat padded feet and black nails, good lay of shoulder and ribs well sprung with clear harness marking in coat, tight tail carried well over back, well angulated hindquarters, presented in good coat, won this class for her steady movement. 2nd Marfleet. Flatmeer Fleurescent. Feminine bitch with lovely outline, not quite as coated as 1st which made her look slightly longer on the leg but a steady mover once settled.
Post Graduate Bitch – 4 1st Potts. Shelderon The Legal Eagle. Feminine bitch of good breed type. Lovely feminine wedge shaped head and dark muzzle, dark eyes, clear pencil markings, small neat ears well placed, moderate neck with plenty of ruff, shoulders well laid back with good breadth and depth to chest, well sprung ribs with strong loin area, tail set high with tight curl, rear angulation corresponded to front, balanced on the move from front and rear with brisk effortless strides, BB and in the challenge against the dog I felt she was the steadiest mover. BIS 2nd Marshall. Devonia Black Pearl. Feminine wedge shaped head with well-defined stop, masked muzzle and pencil lines to her dark eyes, nicely arched neck on well placed shoulders, good depth to chest, her compact body and well angulated hind-quarters allowed her brisk steady movement, just preferred the overall shape of 1st in profile. 3rd Wilkin. Whizzkees Silver Spark. Not quite so settled on the move as 1st and 2nd and could possibly benefit from a bigger ring.
Limit Bitch – 1 1st Gregory. Amikirs Doubly Delicious (AI) JW. Strong wedge head with dark eyes and well padded ears, moderately arched neck on well placed shoulders, ribs well sprung and compact in body, tail curled tightly over back, nice rear angulation with firm hocks allowing free movement.
Open Bitch – 5 1st Kerr. Caraspitz Good Luck Charm. Wedge shaped head with well placed ears and dark eyes almond in shape, moderate stop, strong neck with large ruff, shoulders well laid back with straight front and good bone, chest had plenty of depth, well sprung ribs and firm loin, compact body, tail set high with tight curl, well muscled hindquarters and hocks in line with tight rounded feet, harsh outer coat with plenty of undercoat, presented well, RBB, in challenge just felt she wasn’t as effortless on the run round as my BB 2nd Marshall. Torrikees Made In Heaven At Devonia. Nice confident bitch with lovely feminine wedge shaped head, well defined stop and dark muzzle, spectacled eyes with clear pencil markings, arched neck on well placed shoulders with well sprung ribs, compact body with good bone and tight feet, good rear angulation, high set tail with nice tight curl, coat harsh and plenty of it, brisk effortless movement. 3rd Gate. Ch Lacetrom Shuna ShCM. Nice feminine bitch but slightly heavier built than 1st and 2nd which I felt showed in movement.
Veteran Bitch – 4 Lovely class of veteran bitches, all were 8 years old and all lovely and fit, definitely didn’t show signs of age and I was splitting hairs between all of them. 1st Fitches. NL CH Samoykees Exclusive Moon Al. Lovely dark bitch who was a lovely compact bitch, feminine head with dark, almond shaped eyes, neck had good muscle tone and shoulders well placed, ribs well sprung and firm back, high set tail and still had good muscle tone to hindquarters which won her this class with her steady brisk movement. BVB and in the challenge she was just so steady. BVIS 2nd Brunt. Ch Vanstrand Quantum Of Solace. Another super fit bitch, just for me slightly longer cast if I was to be picky, but lovely and fit. 3rd Marfleet. Flatmeer Fleaurette. Again splitting hairs, slightly heavier build than 1st and 2nd, but again still very fit.
Special Vintage Bitch – 2 1st Gate. Lacetrom Cruivie ShCM. 12 years and again not showing signs of age, still alert and in good, sound condition.
Breeders – 2 1st Marfleet. Flatmeer Fleur Dilly. Daughter of 4th in Veteran, feminine wedge head with dark mask and thick triangular ears well placed, pencil marked around the eyes, moderately arched neck and well placed shoulders, good spring of rib and nice depth of chest, compact in body with well muscled rear angulation, firm hocks well let down, good tail set with nice tight curl over back, brisk on the move.

Judge Sue Bird (Bridus)

Judge Ms T Forsey (Muzoku).

I would like to thank the committee for the invitation to judge the Specials classes at their Open Show and to thank the exhibitors for their fabulous entries It was a real honour to Judge so many beautiful Keeshonds and I felt very welcomed by all.

CLASS A SJD/B (5) 1. Peck’s KEITAKEES TO LOVE SOMEBODY at BYQUY ( TAF ) What a super youngster. With plenty of Breed Type, well proportioned head with dark muzzle, lovely dark eyes and small ears. Well arched neck, firm topline and balanced angulation fore/aft. Well off for bone and his compact frame was covered in a profuse, thick coat. Once settled he moved cleanly with a clean brisk gait and although he was just a little excited this just added to his confident character. Looking forward to watching him mature. A very bright future I am sure. 2 Lush’s DIANAKEES CAROLINA MOON At just shy of 11 months this young lady impressed with a beautifully balanced head and expression. Her eyes were dark, ears well set she used it to her full advantage. Correct coat, well set tail and strong hocks She just had a tendency to move a little wider in front than my winner. 3 Brunt’s GOLD GIN CHANEL ( Imp RUS ) NAF TAF I really liked this girl for size and proportions Super coat covering a compact body. Feminine head with a pretty expression. Unfortunately she was very unsettled on the move and was very difficult to assess.

CLASS B SPGD/B (5) 1 Marshall’s DEVONIA BLACK PEARL At almost 2 years this young lady was very confident, alert and biddable .Very pretty head. She was a compact bitch who was feminine all through without losing type or substance. She excelled on the move in all directions with a confident gait.2 Lush’s EDNAARON MOONLIGHT. 4 year old male with a super head. Body proportions and angles well balanced throughout with good bone nice feet and super coat Just wasn’t as together on the move as 1. 3Potts’ SHELDERON THE LEGAL EAGLE. 22 month old female with a beautiful head Very expressive and confident. Good length of neck. She moved out well but I would prefer longer length of leg and a shorter loin.

CLASS C OPEN D/B (6, 2abs)1 Marshall’s ARABESQUE at DEVONIA ( Imp RUS ) Super outline on this 3 year old dog with a super headpiece to finish off the overall picture. He was very alert and a total showman. Short, compact body, typical foxlike head, dark and black pigment Definite stop, small ears. Profuse harsh coat with correct thick undercoat. Foot perfect in all directions.2 Kerr’s CARASPITZ GOOD LUCK CHARM This 6 year old girl moved really well and was very sound. Correct coat texture, eye shape and colour Nice small ears. Preferred the overall outline of 1. 3.Brunt’s ZANDVOORT MR. BOND. Darker Male with a very nice side profile Lovely thick velvety ears good eye shape and colour but I would prefer a stronger muzzle Good length to neck and short compact body Moved well in all directions.
