Lucky Catalogue number winner Pauline Wilson with Chairman Gordon Lister

Thank you to the committee for asking me to judge this show and thank you to all the exhibitors for coming. It was as much fun for me to judge at this show as to show. Generally speaking, I found that the bitches were of better quality than the dogs. Movement was disappointing with toeing in at the front and moving close behind and one dog was cow hocked. Dentition and bites were good.
Minor Puppy Dog (0 entries)
Puppy Dog (1, 0) 1.Lush’s Ednaaron Moon Light. (BD, BOS, BP) A handsome 11-month bigger looking dog (but still at the 18 inches). Masculine fox-like head, dark almond-shaped eye. Good spring of rib and tuck. Well set tail with double curl. Lovely darker coat with defined markings and of clear grey colour. Clean cat-like feet. Has still some maturing to do but promises much.
Junior Dog (1)1.Potts’ Shelderon Spooksel Sterren. A smaller dog of compact build. Fox-like well-proportioned head. I would prefer a darker eye. Well set tail. Lighter grey coat with clear markings. Steady on the move.
Yearling Dog (0)
Postgraduate Dog (3, 1)1.Brunt’s Zandvoort Mr Bond. Compact smaller dog with good spring of rib. Lovely fox-like head. Dark almond shaped eye. Markings well defined on a coarse coat of good colour. Well set tightly curled tail. Moved a little close behind. 2.Evans’ Amikirs Rider of the Storm at Canterway. A nice dog who did not always show himself to his advantage. Well put together with a masculine fox-like head. Nicely marked coat with defined markings. Moved well.
Limit Dog (3, 0) 1.Brunt’s Zandvoort Purrsonal Life. Very similar to winner of last class. A compact frame with good spring of rib and tuck. Coarse coat of good colour and markings. Tightly curled tail. Pleasing head with dark eye and spectacles. Good on the move. 2.Fusco’s Amikirs Lord of the Bubbles. A longer cast dog. Masculine foxy head, dark eye and neat ears. Coat colour good with defined markings. A little loose on the move. 3.Lush’s Buchkees Love in the Mist. One I have admired in the past. Now 8 years of age. A well put together dog, with a masculine head. Unfortunately, his brown colour detracted from his overall appearance.
Open Dog (2, 1) 1.Bennett’s Byquy Rich Gent. A masculine dog with a good out line. He carries a good coat of correct texture and distinct markings. Clean cat-like feet. Lower tail set made up for with a tight curl. Moved well.
Veteran Dog (2, 0) 1.Bennett’s Zandvoort Dream Stone. (BV) 7-year-old dog. A darker dog with good markings and coarse coat. Nice fox-like head with dark almond shaped eye. Good spring of rib. He did not move as well in his class as later when competing for BV. 2.Lush’s B. Love in the Mist.
Special Vintage Dog (1, 1)
Breeders Dog (1) 1.Lush’s E. Moon Light.
Special Not Bred By Exhibitor (3, 2) 1.Rose’s Ch Rossvale Master of Destiny for Esorkees. (RBD) This is one I have liked very much in the past. He is lovely to go over, being all male. Lovely head and expression. Today his movement was inconsistent, letting him down when it mattered.

Minor Puppy Bitch (1, 0) 1.Matthews’ Szaryk Aphrodite at Valindale (NAF TAF). (RBB, BPB) At 7 months she has the world at her feet. A very pretty puppy, in perfect proportion. Compact body and fox-like head. Her adult coat is showing through and she will have good colour and markings. She shows well but needs to settle her front movement. I look forward to seeing how she develops.
Puppy Bitch (1,0)1.Pattison’s Eastkees Sunbird. A longer cast bitch of nice size. Pretty fox-like head with dark eye and spectacles. Good depth of rib. I would prefer her to have more bone. Like others from this kennel coat texture is correct and she is of clear colour and markings. Moved a little close behind.
Junior Bitch (1,0)1.Fitches’ Samoykees Gypsy Girls Moon. A darker, longer cast bitch. Shorter but coarse coat with distinct markings. Fox-like head with dark eyes. Her movement was steadier and more clipped when moved more slowly. Keeshonds should, at most, be moved at a brisk walk and on a loose lead.
Yearling Bitch (1, 1)
Postgraduate Bitch (1,0)1.Brunt’s Zandvoort Ursula Andress. Longer cast bitch. Good size and bone. Nice grey coat with definite markings. Feminine foxy head with almond-shaped, mahogany eyes. Tail a little low set but tightly curled. Steady on the move.
Limit Bitch (4, 0)1.Gates’ Lacetrom Shuna. (BIS, BB) A lovely, feminine balanced bitch. Beautifully presented. A lovely temperament to go with a good overall shape. Fox-like head with almond shaped dark eyes, neat ears and sweet expression. Super coat of true grey and defined markings and she did not let down on the move, which was clipped and precise. A deserved win following (as I found out later) her RCC at Border Union. She is a blast from the past. 2.Pattison’s Eastkees Sparkling Diamond. A smaller bitch than the first. Compact, with good grey colour, coarse coat with defined markings. Foxy head with a good eye. On the move she toed in and moved close behind.3.Brunt’s Waatan Gleditsia (Imp Fin). A longer cast bitch. Good top line and reach of neck. Colour clear with defined markings. Feminine head and dark eyes. Movement was steady. On the day she just lacked a little sparkle.
Open Bitch (3, 0) 1.Lush’s Gallowtree Tassel at Ednaaron. A lovely girl. Compact, with good reach of neck. Fox-like head with sweet expression, dark almond shaped eye and neat ears. She enjoyed being in the ring. She moved well. Her weigh-less campaign is still a work in progress, but I look forward to the end result. Dam of RBIS. 2.Fitches’ NL CH Samoykees Exclusive Moon. A darker girl with a shorter coarse coat. Not as feminine as 1. Fox like head with dark eye. Good tail set. Moved well. 3.Marfleet’s Flatmeer Fleurette. Her square outline and conformation was visible to all, due to recent maternal duties. She is definitely in her petticoats at the moment. Nice foxy head with almond shaped eye. Good bone. During the day she hurt her left front foot, so movement was restricted. She did however seem to be enjoying the day out.
Veteran Bitch (2, 0) 1.Gates’ Lacetrom Cruivie. Dam of BIS. A well put together lady. Good bone and neat feet. Fox-like head with dark, almond shaped eye. Lovely grey coat and well presented. Movement was crisp and smart 2.Harding’s Amikirs Amour. Why have two such lovely ladies together in the class? Again, a lovely bitch. Slightly longer cast than 1. Foxy head and sweet expression. Good spring of rib and bone. Moved nicely but not quite as well as 1.
Special Vintage (1,1)
Breeders Bitch (2, 0)1.Lush’s G Tassel at Ednaaron. 2.Pattison’s Eastkees Blue Diamond. Compact bitch with a nice head and eye. A bit short of coat at the moment, but of good texture and colour. Moved nicely.
Special Not Bred By Exhibitor (2, 1)1.Harding’s Amikirs Amour.

My thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge the Special Award classes and my thanks to the exhibitors for bringing your dogs.
Special J D/B (3,1a) – 1. Lushs’ Ednaaron Moon Light, this was a tricky class to judge as both dogs had qualities I was looking for. This 11mths dog was up to size for me but gave a good overall picture with strong colour on a well presented coat, would like a slightly harsher texture. Pleasing head and expression. Decently made and in good condition, tail well set and curled, would like a slightly brisker action on the move. 2. Potts’ Shelderon Spooksel Sterren, 17mths male at the other end of the size range. Carried himself well and showed a brisk positive action. Good coat texture, good body condition, lighter in the eye and lacking the clear definition in colour of my winner.
Special PG D/B (4,2a) – 1. Brunts’ Zandvoort Mr Bond, coming up to 2yrs male, really took my eye and won this class with some to spare. Lovely outline, attractive wedge head with dark eye, ears well set and used, the right amount of bone for his size, correct textured coat, well presented. Tail well set and with good curl. Moved out with positivity, a natural showman. Will follow his career with interest. 2. Lushs’ Buchkees Love In The Mist, 8yrs male, lovely to see this veteran who put in a sound performance. Heavier in build and coat than my winner and his colour is somewhat rusty now but he still makes a decent shape and enjoyed his turn in the ring.
Special O D/B (8,4a) – 1. Brunts’ Zandvoort Purrsonal Life, 2 1/2yrs male, in a very similar mould to his kennel mate, another with coat of a good colour and texture on a nice square frame. Good wedge head, dark eye, small ear, tightly curled tail, well set. Moved out well. 2. Marfleets’ Flatmeer Fleurette, 6yrs bitch, shown in her underwear which allowed me to appreciate her square frame. She is wonderfully muscled with a super tight curled tail. Could be a tad tidier coming and going, she has a tendency to sidewind slightly, but positive and sound. 3. Fuscos’ Amikir Lord Of The Bubbles, 3yrs male, tight between 2&3 but he is just a little proud of his forequarters which affects his movement coming towards. Shown in good coat and condition.
