Critique for North of England Keeshond Open Show – 18th July, 2010
It was a an honour to judge this well run club show with excellent stewards, hospitality and friendliness throughout. All dogs had good dentition and super temperaments. It was a decent entry with few absentees.
Minor Puppy Dog (2) 1st Brunt SUEACRES ICED DIAMOND A very well presented 7 month dog with good ear placement, correct shaped head, true front and short coupled, giving a lovely outline Excellent spring of rib with good tail carriageway and moved well both ways. Best Puppy Dog and Best Puppy In Show. 2nd Shepherd REESBURG RAINBOW WARRIOR. 8 months old, well balanced with pleasing head and skull, Good shape but lacked the substance of the winner.
Puppy Dog (2) 1 absent) 1st Shepherd REESBURG RAINBOW WARRIOR (Repeat)
Junior Dog (2) 1 absent) 1st Watson POMMARY MAGIC TRICKS 16 month well proportioned dog with good skull and eye and straight front. Well balanced with good tail set and moved well. A little strong in head for me and ears could be used to better advantage.

Novice Dog (2) 1 absent) 1st Brunt SUEACRES ICED DIAMOND (Repeat)
Post Graduate Dog (1) 1st Atkinson TORRIKEES WHO’S THE BOSS OF WINKLESTAR 2yrs dog with good head and skull. Excellent ear placement. Eye a little large but straight front and nice feet. Good balance and moved well both ways.
Limit Dog.(4) 1 absent) 1st Brunt ZANDVOORT DREAM MACHINE Lovely wedge shaped & foxy head set off by good ear placement. Correct front with good depth of brisket. Nice reach of neck into good spring of rib. Short coupled giving lovely square outline and moved well. 2nd Bells FFYNIANT SUGARDADDY ALLFORUS ShCM Again nice head and eye, good ears and ample substance. Tended to stand a little splayed at front and was a shade longer cast than the winner but moved well. 3rd Barton ROSSVALE SPIRIT OF THE NIGHT AT COLLCRIST Slightly stronger in head with good eyes and ears. Straight front, good substance and short coupled. I would prefer more neck. Moved well at front but a shade narrow at rear.
Open Dog (3) 1 absent) 1st Day CH ALLFORUS DICE MASTER FOR SPITZCAV JW ShCM 2 nice specimens here. Super, correct shaped head set off by excellent ear placement, well used. Correct shaped dark eye with straight front. Nice arched neck with good rib and super substance. Nice tail carriage, well presented and moved well. Best Dog. When it came to the top honours I felt the bitches had the edge on balance. 2nd Pattison CH EASTKEES ONE MORE CHANCE Lovely head and ears giving nice expression, dark eye, good front and short coupled. Moved well both ways and could easily change places with the first but I preferred the substance of the winner on the day.

Vintage Dog (2) 1st Bell FOXIFAYRE ONCE IN MY LIFE ALLFORUS. An 11 years old ‘Puppy’ full of beans with good head, excellent ears and eye. Straight front, good reach of neck, short coupled, with good tail carriage and moved with vigour and correct gait both ways. Best Veteran In Show 2nd Marfleet FLATMEER FLONKEREN Well put down 11 years dog with pleasing head, good eyes and ears. Correct front with good slightly arched neck down to good spring of rib. Good substance and another who moved well. He was just a shade longer cast than the winner.

Not Bred By Exhibitor Open 1st Matthews AM. CH SUMMERWINDS SO INTOXICATING OF VALINDALE A Lovely headed dog with good shaped, dark eye, and well placed ears. Good front and feet, extremely short coupled with excellent rib and substance. Nice neck and tail carriage and moved well at front although a little narrow at rear. Between coats but his overall presence and shape surely means he has a lot to offer put to the correct bitches. Res. Best Dog.

1st Jackson REESBURG MISTY RAINBOW 8 months with super feminine head, dark well shaped eye, good ears, well used with true front, good bone and substance throughout, nice tail and moved OK Best Puppy Bitch. 2nd Smith SUEACRES CRYSTAL IMAGE Another nicely headed bitch with correct front, decent bone, and correct feet. Moved OK but lost out on Spring of rib to winner. 3rd. Williams ALLFORUS LUCKY LADY FOR YONTAN Well balanced with excellent tail and good reach of neck. Nicely boned but just splayed a little at front. Moved OK.
Puppy Bitch (5) 1. Jackson REESBURG MISTY RAINBOW (Repeat) 2nd Pattison EASTKEES SAY NO MORE Pleasing head, super ears and correct shaped eye. Good front, well balanced with ample substance. Would prefer more spring of rib. Moved OK 3rd Parker EASTKEES GOSSIP GIRL. Good head and ears, dark eye, good rib, well coupled with good tail. Moved OK but another who splayed slightly at front.
Junior Bitch. (4) 1 absent 1st McIntosh & Burdon WHIZZKEES ONYX SOLITAIRE OF SHELDERON. Feminine Head set off by lovely ears and super dark well shaped eye. Straight front, excellent colour and coat texture, good rib and substance and moved well both ways. 2nd Pattison EASTKEES SAY NO MORE (Repeat) 3rd Wakeman ENREVEYAR ENNEA Pleasing head with good ears and eye. Ample substance with good tail carriage. Out of coat at present and lacked bone of the first two. Needs to settle on the move as she was erratic both ways.
Yearling Bitch (4) 1st Gregory AMIKIRS ADORABUBBLE Impressive bitch with correct head, eye and ears, good balance, short coupled, straight front, excellent tail carriage, good depth of brisket and moved well. Hard to fault. Res. Best bitch and Reserve Best In Show. 2nd Firth MARTELLKEES SHE’S THE ONE. Longer cast than I like but excellent rib and substance helped to give a decent balance. Good tail set and true front and moved well. 3rd Barbour RUSSKOE SEREBRO POSH TOTTY AT CILLAKEES Pleasing head eye and ear but shade narrow right through and lacked substance of 1 and 2. Good Tail set but moved erratically.
Novice Bitch (8) 1 absent 1st Jackson REESBURG MISTY RAINBOW (Repeat) 2nd Parker EASTKEES GOSSIP GIRL Good head and ears, dark eye, good rib, well coupled with good tail and moved OK but another who splayed slightly at front.
Post Graduate Bitch (5) 3 absent) 1st Eggleston MARTELLKEES FORGET ME NOT BY RICARA 20 months old bitch with true foxy head and expression set off by super ears. Good front with nice reach of neck and super spring of rib and body substance. Short coupled with excellent tail and moved well. 2nd Burgess REESBURG ROCK ROSE Another nice bitch that you have to go over to appreciate. Excellent rib and substance, good bone, lovely head, dark eye and moved well. Just a shade longer cast than the winner but OK for a bitch.
Limit Bitch (5) 1 absent) A difficult class with three different types who could all change place for different reasons.
1st Williams ALLFORUS CRYSTAL DREAM FOR YONTAN Nice head, ear and eye, Straight front although a little wide. Good reach of neck, short coupled with good tail set. Moved well. 2nd Stubbings VANDERSEE AUTUMNAL MIST Feminine head, good ear, excellent eye, straight front, good rib and tail carriage, moved OK but lacked substance of the winner. 3rd Tierney FLATMEER FLOWERRING Nice head, dark eye, super ears, true front, good reach of neck, moved OK but longer cast than the first two.
Open Bitch (7) 1st Smith EASTKEES DIAMOND IMAGE FOR SUEACRES This one had the ‘wow’ factor for me. Surely it will not be long to gaining her title. I understand she has been out of the ring on maternal duties (she is the dam of the Best Puppy In Show) but was in full bloom. Beautiful head set off by lovely ear placement and a dark, well shaped, eye, all giving a lovely expression. Super front with good bone down to true catlike feet. Excellent spring of rib and substance, good coupling, set off by a nice reach of neck and good tail carriage. Nice depth of brisket and stood square. Movement was good. Best Bitch and Best In Show 2. Gregory AMIKIRS ABORABUBBLE (Repeat)
3. Pattison EASTKEES WINTER MIST Similar type to the second with pleasing head, good ears and eye. Well boned, short coupled, good tail set, straight front and moved OK.
Veteran Bitch. (5) 1st Brewer CH/IR CH NERADMIK RUMOUR HAS IT Another ‘oldie’ that was full of herself.. 8yrs with lovely head, super ears, dark eye, good bone down to good feet. Short coupled giving a lovely shape. Excellent rib and substance and moved well. 2. Bell CH ALLFORUS MAGIC ‘N’ ICE JW ShCM Similar in shape and size to winner and will no doubt change places on occasion, All of the above apply but I preferred the movement of the first. 3. Marfleet FLATMEER FLEUR DE LYS Lovely head with dark eye but just tended to fly her ears. Excellent front, good coat colour and good tail. Moved well. Just a little longer in body than the first two.
Vintage Bitch (2) 1st Marfleet COLPATRON SECRET DREAMS OF FLATMEER 13 yrs old bitch with good head, super ears and dark eye. In full coat and of good colour. True front, excellent body substance and moved out freely. These ‘oldies’ could teach some youngsters a thing or two regarding movement. 2nd Brewer NERADMIK RISKY RUMOUR AT HELKEESEN. Feminine head with good ear and eye. Stood a little wide at front but very well balanced, being short coupled with ample substance. Moved OK.
