WELSH KENNEL CLUB CH SHOW 2013

Keeshond report

Numerically disappointing but I did have some high quality stock on view. Regrettably, the OB class of 10 was sadly depleted by half, with only 5 present. I believe 2 had come into season and another had dropped every vestige of a coat! Interesting to read that the BCC & BOB winner, the DCC and the Res BCC are all from the same litter which must be most gratifying for their breeder, Jean Sharp-Bale. Also, the BP was their half brother, sharing the same sire, Ch Game Boy.

PD(1) 1st & BP Miles, Cullen & Brown’s Rossvale’s Legacy for Lekkerbek just 6½ months and a wilful handful and giving his handler a hard tough time with his playful character and inquisitiveness. I loved his head shape, quite beautiful eyes and expression, ears well carried and his proportions are almost square. Excels in spring and depth of rib, he is short backed, really tightly almost double curled tail and he clearly gets loads of attention as he shone with well being. Gave glimpses of positive action and his handler pluckily persevered with words of encouragement.

JD(2) 1st Newman’s Leazehound Lightning Bolt , I see is another by Game Boy. Compact, lovely wither height, head balance correct, beautiful almond eyes are a deep brown and he has a good muzzle length. Ears could be a trifle higher, or maybe it was just him being awkward! In lovely coat, he was well handled and stepped around the ring with a light, positive stride. 2nd Edwards’ Torikees Van Heusan quite different in type being taller and a little rangier all through. Very good spring of rib, in wonderful jacket and a responsive showman. Head is a good shape, well defined stop and well placed ears. Eye a little full for me and I felt he had not quite the Kees expression I hope to see. Profile action shows balance but he has a habit of standing weak in pastern, though it is not evident when he moves.

PGD(6/1) 1st Andrews’ Neradmik Help the Hero at Maldine yet another Game Boy progeny and he surely is stamping his type well. This is a handsome headed, all male boy. Loved his eyes and ears with that well filled rounded muzzle below a well defined stop. Nicely arched neck, so well bodied, fairly compact and tight feet. Pleased me in action, positive, light footed and true both ways. 2nd Hickson’s Kichigai Where’s Wally size smaller than the winner and not his outgoing “look at me” showmanship. Good skull width, I’d like a little more weight in muzzle, he is well boned, his coat is richly coloured and he looks good circling the ring. 3rd Stubbings’ Vandersee Irish Guard

LD(6) 1st & res CC Lindsay’s Enreveyar Exceptional With Mezanda I thought him a very smart example of the breed. Lovely neck and outline, big ribs, high set well carried tail, in profuse jacket and a quick, light, easy stride as he went around the ring. His head I really liked, a true wedge, the eyes are almond shaped and dark and he has such a good muzzle. Never stopped showing and rightly got the RCC. 2nd Matthews’ Luddelos Figaro With Valindale immaculate in jacket as always from this handler. Bigger than the winner over the withers, so well bodied, well set tail and strong hindquarters. Nicely balanced head on a good neck and he is certainly a delight watch on the move. I just edged the winner on having the more almond shaped, darker eye. 3rd Tew’s Bargeway Keen To Rumble

OD(4) 1st & CC Sharp-Bale’s Ch Neradmik Handsome Hero, full of quality, in excellent coat, looks every inch the titleholder he is. Beautiful expression from stunning eyes, sufficient neck, well bodied and high set tail. He is sound as they circle the ring and is such a responsive showman. Unlucky to meet his sister in such devastating form. 2nd Wilkin’s Ch Pommary Quick Silver at Whizzkees sadly very out of coat though his lack of hair only showed how well constructed he is. I liked his head, really good eyes for shape, colour and expression, the best of legs and neat feet and he really comes into his own on the move, light, positive and energetic. 3rd Feist & Peacey’s Neradmik Valentino

PB(2) 1st Tew’s Bargeway Neat & Tidy and that sums her up! Most advanced of these two in every way. Well schooled, never put a foot wrong and showed her head off. Very feminine in head, very good eyes, ears could be a tad higher, enough neck, decent spring of rib and certainly compact in shape. Spotless coat and moved quite soundly. 2nd Rose’s Neradmik Tanzanita for Esorkees, a 6 months rascal just here for the fun of it. Nicely headed, well balanced head, good ribbing, firm loin and high set tail. Her jacket was groomed to perfection but her action was hard to asses as she was performing a bloodhound on the scent act, hoovering her way around the ring in case there were any morsels worth picking up.

JB(2) 1st Reed’s Byquy Willma what a beautifully coloured big ribbed bitch this is. Nice flat skull, well defined stop, decent foreface and lovely eyes. Ears could be a fraction smaller to her advantage, in lovely bloom and she was one of the best movers of the day. 2nd Passmore’s Torrikees Victorias Secret very much at the lower end of the height scale, but a real poppet. Pretty face, wonderfully expressive eyes and neat little ears. She was in super bloom, showed her head off, and is so balanced in action. Just wish there was more of her.

PGB(4/2) 1st Stubbings’ Vandersee Wedding Belle this well coated bitch takes the eye on the go around as she is free stepping, holds her shape and was in such good coat. Head handles well, eye could be more almond to add to her appeal and I would like neater ears. Lovely body and tail set and a co-operative showgirl. 2nd Lush’ Zandvoort Heavens Dream for Ednaaron darker in jacket, dips in topline and moves overbuilt behind. Nicely headed, again a fuller eye than I like, side action shows an even pace but on the stack she was less enthusiastic than the winner.

LB(2) 1st & Res CC Feist & Peacey’s Neradmik Kissing Game, simply a beautiful type, screams quality, delightful headpiece, so compact, bags of substance, uses her good reach of neck to full advantage, tail bang on top and action is as smooth as silk. Ultra sound on the move and I was more than happy to put her in the runner up spot. Surely titlebound. 2nd Saudners’ Liefkees Angelika another quite beautiful bitch of exceptional quality. Perhaps not quite the wonderfully soft expression of the winner but she was in full bloom, holds herself so well going around the ring, and never gave up trying. Her shape appeals, well arched neck, well muscled aft and excellent feet.

OB(10/5) 1st CC & BOB Curry’s Ch Neradmik Steppin Up the Game at Norkees JW, I thought her outstanding. Has glamour with the richness and correctness of her colours, quite beautiful in head, eye and expression, very good neck , almost square in proportions, lovely forechest and well boned legs and she was presented to perfection. Never stopped showing and she out moved the opposition. Delighted to send her into the Group. 2nd Sharp-Bale’s Ch Neradmik Miss Holly Berry , gosh, – another Game Boy daughter. Ultra feminine, certainly compact, sweetest of expressions, stands absolutely four square, lovely body with perfectly set and carried tail. Shown in excellent coat and presented flawlessly as always from this kennel A real glamourpuss and a deserved titleholder. 3rd Saunders’ Liefkees Annabell
