I would like to thank Windsor Society for the invitation to judge the Keeshond, a few points to consider, ears are becoming larger than one would like and shape being ivy not laurel, also variation in size, males should clearly be 18” at point of withers and bitches 17”, this breed should not be decreasing in size and an observation, height to length ratio being of an issue. Thank you to the exhibitors for a lovely day and entry and to my steward Mrs Carol Jackson.
VD/B 7(2) A wonderful class of golden oldies. 1. Miles/Cullen’s Ch. Rossvale’s Legacy for Lekkerbek. 9½ year old male in lovely condition, pleasing headpiece, eyes positioned nicely and ears of correct shape and size, neck being of adequate length, shoulders well situated and with level top-line, nice depth of forechest and rib, cat like feet on well boned legs, coat being of correct length and contrasting colour, not overdone on length, moved well, BV. 2. Hill’s Whizzkees Ebony Silver for Plymkees JW ShCM. 8 years and 4 months, bitch in good coat and condition, fox like head, nice proportions, ears well placed and of nice size and shape, pleasing neck length and shoulder placement, legs well boned on neat feet, would have liked a little shorter in loin, tail set high, moved well and free, a little close in rear action, giving of herself at all times, a cheeky girl. 3. Tew’s Ch. Bargeway Neat and Tidy.
PD 2(0) Two quality exhibits. 1. Ring’s Neradmik Shine On Harvey Moon. Impressive youngster with a balanced head, good eye shape and ears of correct shape and size, moderate length of neck with compact back, depth to forechest and rib, correct coat, colour contrast and just enough for age, nice plume to tail and legs well boned, stood well, needs to tighten in front assembly but will do so on maturity, BPD. 2. Gardner’s Keitakees Small Town Boy with Manzankees NAF. Another lovely youngster who was not giving the best of himself here today, pleasing head with nice eye shape and colour, neat ears placed correctly, moderate reach of neck on well situated shoulders, level top-line and short coupled, tail well plumed and set high, cat like feet on well boned legs, moved well when settled, coat of good colour and texture.
JD 1(0) 1. Gardner’s Keitakees Small Town Boy with Manzankees NAF. 2nd in PD.
PGD 2(0) 1. Tew’s Torrikees Purple Rain. Upstanding male of good proportions, very much out of coat here today, head pleasing in length of foreface and depth of skull, dark eye of good shape, would prefer a smaller ear, lovely reach of neck with level top-line and short coupled tail set high and well plumed, straight in front and rear assembly with tight pasterns, neat feet on well boned legs, nice exhibit on the move out and back and side profile. 2. Watkins’ Eerondaali Orlando. Another quality exhibit with balance but on a smaller scale, pleasing head proportions, would like a more almond shaped eye, ear shape and size one of the best on the day, moderate length of neck, shoulders positioned well, level top-line, tail set high, again neat front and rear assembly giving positive movement out and back with side profile, would like this lad to give a bit more of himself, nevertheless a true honest Keeshond.

Another upstanding male, most similar to 1st in type, pleasing headpiece, all proportioned, nice length of neck, shoulders placed correctly with level top-line, nice depth of brisket and a little more length in loin, coat of clear colour being rich and of good texture and length, moved ok, not as true in front action as 1st. Marshall’s Arabesque at Devonia (imp RUS).
OD 5(1) 1. Hopkins’ Int Ch/Ir Ch/NL Ch/Bel. Quasars Brilliant Light Van Het Earlskamp Sevenaubach (imp BEL). This 5½ year old male being the prime example of what, in my opinion should be (male), balanced headpiece with depth of fore face and upper and lower jaw line and stop to back of skull, ear correct size and shape, strong neck, shoulders well situated and level top-line, strong front and rear assembly, legs well boned with clean legs and on cat like feet, pasterns tight, good depth of forechest and brisket, ribs well barrelled, correct height to length ratio on this exhibit, coat of rich shades of grey and black and of pleasing texture and being stand off to touch and fitted, foot placement sound, front and back giving meaningful brisk action, a joy to watch on side profile, fills the eye on the stand, congratulations, DCC & BOB. 2. Harris’ Kichigai Boy Is Back in Town for Watchkees JW. Finer type of male throughout, balanced head, eyes of good colours, ears of correct shape and size, moderate length of neck, short coupled with level top-line, nice depth of brisket, would have liked more definition and contrast in coat colour, moved well fore and aft and side gait, sound exhibit. 3. Miles/Dean’s Ch. Neradmik Family Affair with Lekkerbek.

PB 4(0) 1. Redler/Wheatley’s Keitakees You Are My World. Most feminine bitch, 11¾ months old, balanced head, eyes and ears, correct in shape and size, nice length of neck, shoulders well positioned, level top-line and short coupled, upstanding in stance with such wonderful attitude, sound front and rear assembly which confirmed in her light and brisk action coming and going and side profile, just needs to steady at times, a change of coat pending, a quality exhibit. Quality exhibit who pushed 1st place hard, balanced head with dark eye and neat well shaped ears, strength in front and rear assembly, legs with substance and clean neck with reach on well situated shoulders, level top-line, depth to forechest and rib, short in loin, high tail set, fitted jacket, moved out well with good side profile, another to watch. 3. Expressive head with dark almond shaped eyes, ears small and well positioned, moderate length of neck, level top-line, shoulders correctly placed, in just enough coat of nice texture and contrast of colour, well plumed tail, can flag at times, legs well boned, moved ok, would like a more straighter rear action, also a bit more height to the exhibit. Watkins’ Silmoralbions Nora Batty. Lots to like in this exhibit, balanced head type, dark eye, ears of good size and shape, reach of neck and top-line, tail carried well and set high, pleasing depth of forechest and ribs well sprung, short in loin, ultra square in profile, needs to develop in front, this will come with further age development, likewise with coat as in between at this stage, moved ok. 3. Axford/Sherwood’s Watermyth Calypso.
PGB 5(0) 1. Pattison’s Eastkees Call Of The Raven. Smaller style of bitch, most feminine head with dark almond like eyes with neat ivy shaped ears, neck of good length with level top-line, tail set high with plume, neat feet and clean legs, coastwise I would like al little less, sometimes taking the natural lines to an exhibit away, also I would like more height, movement being forward going and brisk, true front and back action, nice side profile. 2. Hopkins’ Ir Ch. Serenaubach Annisgwyl. Nice type of bitch with balanced head, eyes of good shape and colour, a little staining, moderate neck length, level top-line and high set tail, a little tight in forechest when assessing movement, she moved with a dishing action in front assembly, sound action at rear, nice profile standing.
