Meant a lot to be entrusted with this first time CC appointment by the prestigous Welsh KC and can now publically acknowledge the best “no favours” breed education by the Keeshond CLub that rescued me from a failed JDP in 2013 so as to steward a Club Ch Show, be mentored, pass their own assessment and then be granted a club show. The JCF review body truly needs to co-op Melanie Reed-Peck. With just 25 of the original 35 present, this was not a representative entry with classes of 1, 3, 1, 1, 1 prior to OD rather mocking all that training!
VD (2, 1) 1 Hill’s Plymkees Cool Dude ShCM. Rising 9 yrs, handsome chap displaying good breed type and conformation, clean wedge head with taper through muzzle, ears wider set than ideal, good in rib and brisket, a little long, good bone and feet, stand off coat with shoulder marking, loose tail carriage, scored with his beautifully straight, precise action. BVIB.
PD (3) Good trio. 1 Harris’ Kichigai Boy Is Back In Town For Watchkees. 8 mth son of Res DCC, super type , strikingly marked, stand off coat with dense ruff, well grown and bodied but with desired ‘daylight’, oblique eye, ‘five to one’, ear set, arched neck into good forehand, good proportions in head and body, good bone and feet, good curl to tail set on correct croup, moved true and briskly, this worthy son is destined to follow in dads footsteps and came close today. 2 Peck’s Kwajongen H’s A Dandy Byquy. 9 mth rebel, determined to challenge the most skilled of breed handlers, lovely headed clean wedge, correct taper, excelled in eye and ear, short wedge and shapely, ideal croup, tight tail, so sound and secure on the move with a breed specific profile, should also be challenging for a title once he surrenders in the battle of wills! 3 Rose’s Rossvale Endeavour To Esorkees.
JD (1) 1 Marshall’s Arabesque At Devonia (Imp Rus). Just turned 12 mths, looked good in profile, well proportioned head with definite stop and enviable ear set, eye a tad full, defined spectacles, well coupled for age with some tuck up, good coat with shoulder marking, correct in croup and tail carriage, maturity should help him, firm at pastern and in his action fore and aft.
ND (1) 1 Watkins’ Ursas Sumbarsky Pramen. Two and a half yrs, good in skull, eye and muzzle, lacking in coat that emphasised the need for him to couple up through added body condition and develop in forehand, impressively straight and brisk on the move as he responded to his handler.
PGD (1) 1 Wilkin’s Whizzkees Onyx Sampson. 10 yrs and being shown in PG is usually a warning but I understand this remarkable veteran to have had a career more obedience-agility related in which case his peers have got off light since he is of an outstanding breed specific type and structure, touch round in eye but small, ivy ear and dark muzzle equal to length of flat skull, compact, well angulated, correct in croup and tail curl, good coat in texture and markings, briskly balanced on the move. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity and could readily move up the ranks if he hits the show ring more often.
LD (2, 1) 1 Fusco’s Amikirs Lord Of The Bubbles. Just turned 4 yrs, alert and positive, presented in full coat and ruff, defined spectacles and shoulder marking, good skull and eye, ears a little wide set, a little straight in forehand as compared with his excellent rear angulation, well bodied that was compact with some tuck up that accentuated his deep brisket, sufficient leg length, moved with a lovely light, brisk steps to press his case.
OD (7, 2) Had barely got my eye in to be met by five excellent males but so diverse in type and structure. 1 Hickson’s Kichigai’s Only The Lonely. Recently 4 yrs, on top of his game, so active and positive, blessed with so many breed specifics and ideal balance and proportions, typical coat and markings, clean wedge head, oblique almond eye, spectacles, arch to neck, well angulated, short with length of leg giving a square outline, good bone and feet, excellent tail, ran a little close in rear but with lovely brisk, even strides and a spring in his step. DCC. 2 Harris’ Ch Neradmik All About The Boy For Watchkees Cw19. Six and a half yrs, bit of a super stud on todays results have admired and critiqued before with those fabulous ivy leaf ears and his flat skull, a touch rounder in eye, excellent neck and forehand under his male ruff, enviable, immaculate, harsh off standing coat with shoulder marking, beautifully bodied, if that bit thicker set, tightly curled tail over back, excellent bone and feet, straight, brisk mover, always at one with his handler. Res DCC.
PB (4) 1 Hickson & Hickson’s Kichigai’s Uptown Girl. 8 mth daughter of Res DCC and litter sister to the PD. Totally feminine, so short and chunky, scored in eye, ear and muzzle, arch to neck, clean front, level, excellent tail carriage, correctly coated and marked, brisk, balanced and with accurate foot fall on the move, courtesy of her good angulation, you cannot ignore breed specific type when it hits you between the eyes, not withstanding age. Res BCC and BPIB. 2 Clark’s Kwajongen She’s A Muse. 9 mth litter sister of second in PD, another glorious puppy who was so beautifully bodied, already being compact with good rib and firm loin, lovely head with expressive eye, defined stop, balanced angles, good bone and feet, well coated with definite markings, tight double curl, balanced and brisk on the move, could have flipped a coin between these two to separate them and hope it is some consolation that I rated her as of CC quality and the third best bitch on the day. 3 Williams’ Repeta’s Follow That Dream To Druitz (Imp Swe).
JB (2, 1) 1 R Follow That Dream To D. 11 mths and looks a wise buy to add to the gene pool being of obvious good breed type and overall conformation, desired eye, ear and spectacles, just a little fine in muzzle and needs time to couple up and fill out, has the bone and cat-like feet, she went well being straight and nimble with ample daylight, coating up well with good tail carriage.
PGB (4, 2) 1 Bell’s Foxifayre Keep The Faith With Allforus (Ai). Rising 16 mths, excellent breed type where I could ‘tick a box’ so many specific breed points, oblique almond eye, well set ear, good head proportions with taper through muzzle, arch to neck, clean front with slight slope to pastern, good jacket both in texture and markings, beautifully sound on the move, should emerge well from this teenager stage to rise through the ranks. 2 Hill’s Whizzkees Opal Solitaire For Plymkees. 19 mths, just that bit longer cast and less secure at pastern, both of which maturity should sort, enviable, well set, ivy leaf ears, cleanly tapered muzzle, well bodied, excellent jacket with distinct saddle marking, well collected, brisk and balanced on the move, another good prospect.
LB (5, 3) 1 Marshall’s Torrikees Made In Heaven At Devonia. 3 yrs, half sister to PGB, excellent type, short and shapely, correct eye, small well set ivy ears, taper to muzzle, good neck and forehand, good rib, bone and feet, well set and carried tail, well coated, brisk and straight on the move, keeping a good profile, quality exhibit. 2 Newman’s Leazehond Prairie Flower. 2 yrs, longer cast and heavier headed with relatively deep stop, small ear but too wide set, scored in rib and brisket, beautifully balanced angles aided her even stride, good tail carriage to give a good profile as she circuited.
OB (4) 1 Lindsay’s Ch Cosmic Dream’s Damn You Look Good For Mezanda (Imp Nor). 19 mths, another valuable addition being of utmost quality and femininity, she has that bounce that defines the breed attitude, whole head is a clean wedge from flat skull to tapered muzzle, good front assembly with arched neck, short and square with some daylight underneath and tuck up, excellent jacket with distinct shoulder marking and saddle, correct in croup and tight tail carriage, had that spring off slightly sloping pastern with a straight even gait, her ideal balance and her natural poise gained her BCC and BOB. 2 Austin & Johnston’s Chotahkees Don’t Stop Me Now. Four and a half yrs who appealed on sight with her sheer breed type and maturity as topped by an outstanding stand off coat with distinct markings, excellent head proportions with almond eye and ivy leaf ears with clean cheeks and dark muzzle, square with well sprung rib but so deep as to reach down below the elbow to affect balance by restricting the amount of daylight so as to cost her in the final CC challenge. 3 Hill’s Whizzkees Ebony Silver For Plymkees JW ShCM.
